Thread: Entertainer Report II Input thread
Seeking input for what you would like to see in my second Entertainer Correspondent report. I've been reading the boards and no single issues are jumping out (which IMHO is actually a good thing). I'd like to hear from all three branches of entertainers please, what would you like to see submitted in my second report ?
Thank You
Scott
Also, I'd like to be able to stop my macro in the middle. My macro is only 2 min. long, so it's not a crazy all-nighter. But I'd still like to be able to stop after a min., open a trade window, and not have to worry about my still running macro popping me out of secure trade.
I'm not saying I should be able to trade while macroing, I want to be able to stop my macro mid-way thru so I can type emails and open trade windows.
I think there should be a way to stop macros all together in the middle but I don't really care for them anyways. I know they make rutines easier but it can also be used as what I feel is an exploit to dance the nite away afk.
My suggestion (and I'm only a dancer) is to fill out the songs so that all 8 flourishes of every song (entertainer and master) are unique. I know that will take a LOT of time so it doesn't have to be all at once. Perhaps work on one dance a month. (and on this I say start with the masters and work your way down so that those of us who have worked hard at it get rewarded).
Also I know they want to keep the best songs for the masters but perhaps the very first song could have just a little tiny something more to it so I don't stop listening when I'm dancing with someone who is playing it. (I'll listen no matter what if I need healing dont' get me wrong there, but if I'm just dancing I'll turn it off and turn my raido on.
That's about all I can think of for now.

I wouldn't mind the option of healing BF in the wild, but I don't want to cheapen the cantina scene.
If healing BF in a camp were an option, I'd suggest that it only be restricted to some of the advanced camps. Say, in the Ranger tree. Maybe (and only a maybe), an Improved Camp Site. But Scouts are so prevalent anyway that finding Improved Camp Sites is pretty easy.
That's my thought. While I do sometimes think, "Man, I wish I could heal BF out here," I know that if that were allowed, cantinas wouldn't be as useful.
I think the dances should have 8 flourishes unique to their own. It's annoying seeing the last four flourishes of Footloose are the same as Formal, and also as Poplock if I remember correctly.
There are a lot of good clothes out there for female dancers, and only female dancers. That said, I'd like to see some good clothes for the male dancers out there, as there isn't that much. But maybe that's a Tailoring issue? ^.^
Another thing I'd like to see is a change of some of the "base" dances. The formal's base dance is rather horrid, as is Footloose's.
I agree that footloose is horrid but I do it for now cause it gives me more exp pts but actually like basic II better.
Personally I would like them to get rid of all macros. Esp the ones that beg for tips ..tackyyyyyyy.
While I am female dancer..i agree that male dancers could use some dancing clothes too.
More flourishes would be really nice .
More music choices would be nice for my ears as I end up not listening to music being played cause I am tired of the same ones.
Be nice too of ppl would join in dancing try to be considerate in picking your spot so you dont step all over the ppl already dancing.
Greetings Folks,
I am here to speak in particular about one single important topic, but will address several.
First, if you were unaware, there is a raging firestorm going on in the musician board about the Mandovil in particular. Some of the Master Musicians want the mandovil taken away from the Master Entertainer and put back into the Musician skill tree. Well and obviously the Ceremonial song too, but the Mandovil is the topic of debate there. I have found in my previous years of experience, that the ones who holler the loudest are the ones that are eventually heard. I don't want to holler, and I have been defending the Mandovil being in the Master Entertainers hands, but the topic will not die. If anyone cares at all about the Mandovil issue, either for or against, it might be a good time to weigh in with your opinions.
Issues for Master Entertainers....
(1) Master Entertainers. Make SOE aware of the discriptions, in game, of the Master Musician and see if they will change it accordingly, or else Master Entertainers will in all likelyhood, lose the Mandovil.
(2) Image Design.Wow, can we please implement a system similar, if not copy altogether, the character creation screen so that the designer can actually see what they are doing? We also need a way for us to show the client, what they will look like, instead of having to just tell the client to not accept changes.
(3) Dancers. Work on the still choppy animations for the dancers. As a musician never "fails, or fumbles", a Dancer can fall when doing a flourish, we don't need to suffer more embaressment over weird looking dances do we? ![]()
(4) Musicians. Ok, I am budging on this issue (I seem to be doing a lot of budging of late), make it so that only Novice Entertainers could join in any song up to and including Star Wars 3, but as has been suggested, only allow for xp to be what they would get in the group playing the highest level song they know. Please only make this for Novice Entertainers, I don't want a Novice Entertainer to be able to play Ballad.
(5) All. Group tip option, so that the tipper can choose, if he wants to tip the group instead of an individual/individuals. This would be great for smaller groups where everyone is actually active, or even having formed a band.
Thanks for listening,
Durney Kova - Master Entertainer / Master Musician - Lowca
Please have them look at helping curtail afk xp'ing entertainers. It REALLY cheapens the profession and makes achieving master status not such a big deal. If nothing else if will start policing /reports of afk xp'ing for entertainers.
I'd also like to see some expansion of the entertainer classes. We need to expand our roles outside the cantina. Be it the ability to heal mind wounds in combat, bf healing in camps just something that justifies the points invested. It's only 5 wks into the game and I'm already seeing folks give up their entertainer points for combat or healing skills.
The ability to have groups share tips would be a nice addition.
The ability to see the quality of musical instruments when examining.
The targeting issue related to the ommni box and nalgaron. I'd like to be able to target peeps without stopping my playing when using these two items.
Make the horns have their own individual sounds. I think we're tired of basically two types of horns.
Just some early thoughts.
My biggest beef right now is the fact that an instrument is an instrument is an instrument. There is no concept of a "high quality" instrument, like there is for virtually every other item type in the game. In order to address this, I would suggest any or all of the following:
- Add a Quality stat to instruments, based on the quality of the resources used and the random roll in the building process. Have the Quality affect things like the rate of xp gain when the instrument is played, or the likelihood of "flubbing a note" similar to the chance of falling when dancing.
- Modify the instrument blueprints to accept optional components for added stats (such as +wound healing, +battle fatigue healing, or -flourish cost) similar to the stat tapes used in clothing.
- Make instruments wear out over time like weapons and armor. This would further increase the viability of instrument crafters as a feasible business profession.
I hope you agree that this would make the game more fun.
