...is a single thread on "Wow, look at all the tips I'm making now!" or "Wow, I hardly ever get abused anymore - deny is such a great feature!" or "Wow, people are respecting me so much more now that I have denyservices!"

If any of you are Will and Grace fans... "I told ya so, I told ya so, I told ya so!" *dances*

Actually, I haven't been abused or insulted since then. But that should be normal and not worth mentioning.

That's true, most of us don't get abused do we... I guess I was referring to all the girl (boy) dancers who wear nearly nothing for clothing and were complaining about being "abused".

I have seen several responses by dancers in other threads saying they used deny or another entertainer used deny to good effect.

Since I would say most of the people didn't ask for deny in order to get money but to cut down on harrassment and play more authentically the GCW, I doubt you WILL see that thread of making more money off tips with it. It would be rather offensive if they did.

People are using deny to stop being abused, and to not heal the enemy. Those that might be misabusing it will be dealing with their own backlash.

There are plenty of jerks out there who deserve a deny service, and I rather think that's the majority of cases its being applied to, when its being applied at all.

Before deny went in I'd have to say the ratio of people that wanted deny to get tips versus those that wanted to stop being "abused" was easily 2:1.

Besides, if you don't want to be abused then /ignore that person... it solves the problem instantly. Unless of course you have control issues, which many dancers seem to have. But let's not go there...

I've never seen anyone use /deny at all. Most of the entertainers I know aren't really even sure what the syntax is for using it. And there is a ton of confusion about what its actual effect will be. Because of all these things most people I know have just been ingoring it.

That said, I hang out mostly with other roleplayers, and odds are if they are being mistreated in-game they will roleplay it out (stop dancing, sit down, smack the guy silly, etc) and not emply something like /deny to do it for them.

Can you point me to any threads in other profession boards where they rejoice at how much money they make?

People are always more likely to me vocal when things are bad rather than good (or even normal) which is why bad news always travels faster than good.

Just because you not seeing it posted doesnt means its not happening

So perhaps your gloating spree was unwarranted?

True enough, they don't go hand in hand...but the point wasit's not happening, trust me.

i dissagree with you there, i took a few weeks break came back yesterday i did stunning ammount of tips

not one person said anything ugly to me as they did before or harras me and every singal person in that cantina which was busy behaved themselves

to me it had a wonderful affect i think just cause they know someone is live not afk and they can be denied healing, surprise there behavior on the hole in that area improved greatly

and i am having a great time again in the cantina !!!!!!!!!!

To tell you the truth, every time I've done a gig since this went in, I completely forgot I had it. Being a grown-up, I'm capable of handling the lewdie rudies without having to use a /deny command.

On the other hand, I don't subject myself to public cantinas anymore, so I'm not likely to need it, either.

Maybe the loud silence you're hearing is because so many entertainers are not entertaining full time anymore, and the rest of them are AFK and never read the boards, anyway.

hiya hijo

gonna TRY to keep this short, i think everyone figured out i can be long winded at times

as everyone should know by now, ive always been a strong supporter of a way to refuse service to those that harrass or seek to cause problems in a cantina.

things i have noticed since /deny has gone in...

1. i have only seen 1 person that needed to be /denied... a harrasser that was warned for quite some time about it before he made it to the list.

2. tips ARE coming more frequently, although in lower ammounts per tip(this i care little about, tips were never an issue with me as everyone should know) so tip income hasnt really changed much, pretty well balanaces out to the same per day.

3. for the most part, the harrassers have stopped, like i said, since /deny went in, only one person has made it to my list, and ive not had to warn any others at all.

so for the reason i wanted /deny, just with them giving us the option, i think it was an overwhelming success to stop the largest flood of /report issues.

/ignore that person... it solves the problem instantly

No, it doesn't. Have you ever solved a problem by ignoring it ? Maybe you can teach me, because the problems I ignore tend to get worse.

It's not even just a control issue. It is a role-playing issue.

That is, I assume you mean that it's perfectly all right to ignore someone and not react to him puking on you, spitting on you, licking you, and /emote fondling you until you erupt in orgasmic joy.

That is the number 1 reason I see for entertainers not using /ignore. Sure, you won't see the person's idiotic responses, but the others will. And how does that affect the verisimilitude of the stage?

Dancer: "So, where were you raised?"
Jerk: *pukes on Dancer*
Patron: "I come from Naboo. My father fought in the Trade War."
Jerk: *kisses Dancer*
Dancer: "Oh, how interesting! And are you following in his footsteps as a soldier?"
Jerk: */emote slaps the Patron and says, "Hands off my ho!"*
Patron: "Um, are you going to let Jerk do that?"
Jerk: */emote rubs his crotch against Dancer while licking his lips. Oh yeah.*
Dancer: Hm? Oh, I don't even notice him.

As you can guess, I never use /ignore. Well, except for spambots, but they say nothing that'll have any impact anyway. I'd rather not be in the dark (and yeah, that's partly a control issue). On the other hand, I won't use /deny either. It's not like /deny would stop that scenario anyway. And /ignore would do no good either.

All you can do with jerk players is to confront them (verbally or through a duel if you're skilled in other manners) or to remove yourself from their environment so they cannot bug you.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.
