Anyway, for those of you that have said you haven't had to warn or deny hardly anybody... why on earth would you assume that it is because of /deny? If you haven't had to use it then it obviously wasn't necessary... most people probably didn't even see it in the patch notes, and the ones that did probably didn't even know what it was all about. Heck, do most entertainers even know that they have that ability? lol

simple... before we got the /deny added... harrassment was a constant occurance... even when the harrasser was told that /deny was added to test and will soon go live, the common response was 'so' or 'who cares' and the harrassment would continue. after we got /deny on the live servers(even though it is never talked about in game that i see) harrassment has virtually come to a stop.

i say the point the developers was trying to get across worked... entertainers arent the floormats of the game anymore...

im sorry hijo, but with you playing an entertainer and trying to demean the use of /deny on harrassers... just shows that you like being harrassed, you like being used by those that you are forced to put on the /addignore... and you have no respect for yourself

yes... ignore DOES make it so you cant hear them... no is does not stop them from 'playing up to the crowd' with vulgar and rude gestures which now since you are ignoreing them, you cannot stick up for yourself and 3, they still get to heal off you even though they treat you like dirt(you cant see it, but others can and look down on you for 'taking' since they dont know you are ignoring them). unless of course.. you start spamming 'so and so is being /ignored' so that all that enter the cantina after that know... which will of course... will get alot of people upset at the spam and most likely get you ignored by some.

as long as a harrasser can heal off you, they have zero reason to leave... once they start seeing 'so and so has added you to the deny list' they tend to leave very quickly... in some cases they make a stink about it, and when they do, you just say why they got /denied then they will soon start asking everyone in the cantina why everyone denied them... generally, if someone harrasses their way to a deny list... other entertainers add them as well just to get them out of the cantina without going to drastic measures like ... stopping playing altogether(only option we had before /deny) and stop healing everyone... but if you want to go back to that... feel free to post it to a dev... im sure they will tell you it was added to slow down the MASSIVE input of /reports for harrassment in cantinas

/chuckle Nice assumptions, however you aren't even close. I might have one person on my ignore list, however I don't even think I have that many. The fact of the matter is that I don't get harassed, and my musician is a female twi'lek character (started off as a dancer *snore*). When I see things like "harrassment was a constant occurance" I either think that it is an exaggeration or that someone is doing something that is making them be harassed, like roleplaying a tramp. Having never seen you play, I guess I'll never know and I'm sure if I asked you'd tell me that no matter what you do you don't deserve to be harassed, blah blah blah.

The other possibility, of course, is that some entertainers qualify many many things to be "harassment", above and beyond annoying socials and speech. Bar fights and pets come to mind. I used to play with some dancers who would stop dancing everytime a bar fight broke out. Yea, something about dancers... they like to wear pasties and hot pants and then overreact to everything. Yes I'm biased, I've seen too much of it.

Actually, it takes about 30 seconds tops for the average person to heal off of me... that really doesn't even come into play. If I added someone to my deny list, odds are that by the time they came back for more healing they would automatically have been removed already (confused if it is when you stop playing or when you relog, but either way I relog frequently). They could easily slip in and heal unnoticed before I would recognize them - they could even enter the cantina from the back door and I would never see them until it was "too late". It wouldn't solve a thing. They could then harass me some more and repeat the pattern over and over. Look for this to happen when people figure out you can't keep them on deny day to day without going through the trouble of creating an actual out of game list for yourself.

Hasn't anyone heard the saying "Don't feed the trolls please" before? God people reply to my bullchit all day long, why do you think I post so much... rofl Just kidding, kind of... but it is as applicable in-game as it is on message boards.
