Thread: Music/Dancing XP is too slow past level 3

Been discussing this with lots of entertainers today.

Getting to level 3 is 15000 XP

Getting to level 4 is 45000 XP

Why the crazy amount of XP needed? I dont get it.

Even in a group of 10 entertainers i was only getting 26xp per flourish on Footloose, and that doesnt last long with my Action bar. I guess only Rodians should be Dancers, they never have to rest it seems.

The XP needs lowered a bit. Especially compared to Image Design and Ent. Healing its incredibly imbalanced.

I've got Musical Techniques I, Musical Knowledge I, Musician's Wound Healing II, and almost have Musicians Fatigue Healing II. The entire first tier of the advanced profession is done and the game has been out less than a week. It's supposed to take 3 months to master an advanced profession.

Granted, I've been playing like a mad man (I do work during the week, though). ;-) But still...you need the profession to feel difficult for there to be any sense of accomplishment when you get through it. Ipersonally feelthe exp requirements are very near on-target (they used to be exactly twice as high just before the end of beta). If I continue on this hardcore streak (not likely), I'll probably have the master profession in a month. For a more reasonable play style, I feel it would stretch out to about the 3 month target.

If anything, I think the entertainer healing exp should be toned down. There were two major bugs during beta that caused it to be severely diminished (ie. gained at just over half the rate as music exp). It wasn't fixed until near the end, so they really didn't have much true data to tune it with.

That's probably not what you want to hear. I think the problem is really the variety of things you can do during that 3 month trek. On that, I would agree--it is somewhat lacking.

I agree, I've learnedEntertainer Healing IV and I can't start learning the dancer profession because I'm still learning Dancer III.

They seriously need to balance these out, because once we get to the more specialized skills, advancing will be almost impossible without grouping with 10 people. This is especially aggravating for us that don't playat peak times.

Conclusion: Professions get boring fastwith little tono advancement. Please fix this!

Dancing for 3 months is boring to even get near Master. I could see a slight toning down of Dance/Music and a tone up of Image Design and Healing.

I think they should all be about even.

See ranged fighters can get levels so fast its silly. We need some balance.

To be fair, though, entertainers aren't putting their butts (and associated inventory) on the line to get xp. We dance/play in safe places where the likelihood of someone shooting at us is vanishingly small. There's gotta be some kind of trade-off for that security, I'm afraid.

True and all, but generally we are not the ones being shot at. So its just free sideshow entertainment.

For me in 4 days I've made it fairly far and I'm a multi prof music/artisan. What I think would be very nice for everyone is to have a couple other music selections at the lower levels - I don't mind about making less xp playing starwars 1, rock, and 2 to help buff other players - but the songs are getting old It would be very nice to be able to group with the lower players but still have us all playing a variety of songs - even just a slight variety like maybe 1 new song all newbies can know? That way all of our ears could have a change. I play my more advanced stuff when everyone else has to rest (I migrated until I maxed all my action stuff and the lower songs don't cost me as much green of course - so I don't have to rest as often - also tons of my audience heal me). Group play with active entertainers really helps the tips roll in but the audience also appreciates a change in sound once in a while. I actually don't care how long it takes to make musician - I'm having a ball socializing.

The game just came out. Chances are they won't add any new songs right away. I have a post in this board concerning flat-rate XP gain based on level, not on song. Check it out.

LOL...the xp is too slow? Are you playing to lower level songs with a slitherhorn still? I know we all have to play the same song as musicians, but use the best instument you can. I made Novice musician in 3 days, and I had to make all my own instruments. Make sure you are doing 2 flourishes per xp Pulse. Also, make sure you play in well populated areas. The more performers performing in your group and the bigger the crowd watching, the more xp you get. I have been getting anywhere from 1.5-2.5 times the base xp in groups. Stay away from soloing as an entertainer.

I am currently screaming through the Musician trees. I am using a trazz atm and I got 140k in music xp alone yesterday.I was also getting anythere form 35-60 xp a pulse. If anything, the Healing xp should be slowed. I have fatigue healing 4 and mind healing 2 already. By the time I get Technique and Knowledge maxed so I can make master, I will have so much extra healing xp that it will be coming out my ears.

I actually think the xp should be toned back down on music/dance and healing xp. Not like it was in Beta, god that was awful, but I would put back the xp requirements for each dancing/music box, but leave the current gain as it is now. Healing xp is just plain crazy. I'd cut the xp gain in half on it.

Um...isnt' the point of the entertainer class to get into a huge group of like-minded people and perfrom, thus upping your healing factor AND your own xp? So it's not that the xp's slow it's that you're performing alone or in a tiny group, find more musicians and leave the devoid of entertainer cantinas for the new guys to the class, they can experiment and get accustomed to the profession and get their max xp which does a nice bite to those lower tier'd skills.

I know that I get 16points of XP with 1 person listening to me alone. In a group of 14, in a cantina with who knows how many people goin in and out I was getting 36 xp with 4 musicians playing. Stay with the groups, I noticed that is the reason I thought xp was goin slow, I was on tat, mos ethla in a empty cantina performing for people alone. Thoug hI loved the tips I enjoy the comraderie with other musicians on Naboo much more and will be staying until novice musician, master enterrtainer and novice dancer are recieved .

Took me 14 hours to get through Musicianship III to IV (45,000xp), now I'm workin on novice musician (50,000xp) and in just 3 hours I am 2/5 of the way through already . And that was playing songs under folk for half the time with my fanfar mostly (I like the sound more in every song, the only song I enjoy the kloo horn and fizzz in is folk, but I still prefer the fanfar/slitherhorn ).

Getting more ent healing is not a bad thing. Sometimes, we log on and there are few folks to heal and we can catch up with the dancer/musician xp. We can also dance outside the cantina and get dancer/musican xp.

After 3? Music/Dancing exp is slow past level ONE... 4 exp a pulse, 1 pulse every 10 seconds, 360 pulses in an hour,1440 exp an hour -- level 2 is basically 3 1/2 hours of straight play -- 3 is 10 -- 4 is... 31 hours...

Not my idea of a fun time, for it to only get worse in the advanced profession...
