Why in the world are these only available to the Master Entertainer?

Are you telling me I have to master both Designer and Dancer before I can use a Mandovial?

Thats just dumb. I really hope its just an oversight by the devs, and wasnt done on purpose.

It was done on purpose. You must learn to fix people's hair in order to play music.

The oversite is the devs refusal to re-address this issue the way they did for the dancers.

Bah I put my heart and soul into playing music, and as a reward the first thing I get when I reach musician is a different looking Slitherhorn!?

That's just nasty, give me a guitar, let me feel that I've achieved something and I'm on the right path!

Exp gets so slow, you reach master in your profession and poof you gotta play a novice sounding instrument?

And another thing I have a small fat old human with a combover, how am I going to get away with dancing for people!? I don't want to dance, I want to play music...

lol I'm glad there are people who create those types of characters. Breaks up the monotony of seeing everyone in tip-top trim shape, and adds a little humor and flavor.

err...sorry for the tangent.

BAH!

This is retarded

I had only planned on working up to the point that I caould play the Mando and stop there, since I need the skill points for Combat Medic.

Now I have to freakin waste my skill points on freakin Image Design? The most worthless and never used skill branch in the game?

And the most annoying thing, the devs will put this issue at the bottom of their list, so even if they DO address it, it wont be until 2 months later, even though it only takes probably 10 min to move the cert in their code......

Has a dev ever even replied about this? Probably not.

umm. Wah. It's a carrot on the stick to get people to actually get Master Entertainer.

I LOVE the fact that the mando is only available to Master Entertainers. It gives something unique to those who work through the entire Entertainer profession.

The mistake was kowtowing to the dancers and putting upgraded dances instead of unique dances at Master Entertainer. They should have the same carrot on the stick that musicians do (same with Image Designers.)

I wouldnt mind so much if it was just the dancing skill I had to get, but Image designer is so completely worthless.......

If image design had some kind of worth besides being able to change hair styles, I would consider it. But im not going to sit there and change some guys hair style over and over again a thousand timesjust so I can get a mando. Image design is nothing but wasted skill points. Its the least thought out and shallow skill tree in the game.

Uh, if there wasn't some kind of reward for getting Master Entertainer, why would anyone go for it!?

I'm a master entertainer and I'm glad that I got something unique that people who skipped it by didn't get.

And Image Design isn't useless, it's actually a very profitable profession and a number of people on my server have taken advantage of it already.

That statement right there should signal trouble.

If the Devs have to BRIBE you into master Entertainer by holding back the Mando, then they obviously have a problem with the Entertainer skills. If the skill isnt fun enough, or worth while enough for people to WANT to achieve it, maybe it shouldnt be in the game, or that it needs some serious redesign.

If there are people who find it fun and profitable, great. But a musician shouldnt be forced to learn a set of unrelated skills just so he can play an instrument.

When I reach Master Techniques II in the Musician skill tree, I will be able to MAKE the Mando, but I wont be able to play it?

Nifty yes, getitng master entertainer sohuld give you something unique, like maybe a bigbehind lightshow, or a npc band or something, or yes, the mandoviool.

But shouldn't I, as a musician, be able to play that same mandoviool? Or some kind of stringed instrument?

We all know it's hell to get to musician, how long is it going to take to get something that sounds different from the slitherhorn or fizz?

I'd be happy if every instrument sounded different, and I assume this is not a finished proffesion (not all sounds are in), so that should put it high on the to-do list, shouldn't it??

I don't think a Pistoleer would be happy to gain a new weapon that does the exact same damage, but gives a little more xp....

I completely agree that the instrument progression frankly blows. Having 3 instruments sound exactly alike is pretty lame, IMO. Pendarin offered a small solution to help that out somewhat. Also, Cinco said that he'd look into getting some more unique sounds for the traz and chid.

The only way to make a Musician (dancer, image designer) pick up the Master Enterainer profession is to make it interesting in some way, correct? Ok, hypothetically remove mando from Master Entertainer and put it at Novice Musician or something. What do you put into Master Entertainer to make it interesting and desirable for musicians?

The point is that it is a game and is not always logical in relation to real life (or even to the Star Wars universe.) Logical progession would be that you learn songs and instruments separately, not in the same skill box. That's not the case, and neither is a master musician knowing every instrument and every song. There is 1 instrument and 1 song that you have to be master entertainer to get.

oh, and Image Design is FAR faster and easier to get than Dancing. I knocked out the whole ID discipline in the time it took to get Dancing IV.

You could just as well say the devs are "bribing" you into Master Musician by holding back the Nalagron. *shrug*

Every skill box should have a reward, and the reward for master entertainer is the mando, ceremonial, and a couple dances. It certainly is worth the effort.
