LOL I'm probably vein enough that I would've gone master entertainer for the pretty lights... I think 90% of the people I know have gotten techniques before knowledge just for the lights the way it is. heh Actually, if you put all the effects into master entertainer, or at least gave the only effects to master entertainer and made them last a little bit longer so they were more practical... that would be awesome. Or maybe give them some effects that effect the entire band and last longer... that would be even more awesome. BIGGER effects that effect the entire band and last longer... even better still.

Lemme let you in on a secret though, IMO the mandovial is a great instrument, and ceremonial remains my favorite song (although I think virtuoso will knock it off the top when I get that far!), but I think that everyone just has a touch of the "grass is greener" syndrome. They aren't the holy relics that demand thread after thread on "Why don't I have everything... I am a master musician and am too lazy to get master entertainer!" As it stands, it seems like just the right reward for having done a little bit of extra work before moving on to novice musician. Not too much, not too little. I loved my mandovial... until I got my bandfill. (I still love it... but it doesn't give as much xp!)

Well I'm sticking whit my skill, and that's playing music, I just hope the instruments in the musician line will be good enough, else I'll just break and start dancing and doing ID, whish is a shame, because I choose entertainer for the fun, I don't care about xp, and I despise the grind if I'm not having fun

How about let master entertainer do magic tricks, or be a dealer for playing cards etc?

That sounds like fun, dun it??

That, along with the light show, is exactly what master entertainer SHOULD be......

The Master Entertainer reward should be something likethe special effects (intead of being part of the musician line)

Want to make a pretty light show? be a master entertainer....

Yeah and when you reach Master Techniques IV you will be able to make the Narlagon, but that doesn't mean you can play it. The same thing goes for the whole Tech tree, if you don't master the Knowledge before, then you will be a instrument builder and not a player...

I can't really see why it is such a big problem, if you really want to play the Mandoviol, then get the Master Entertainer, if that is a problem then you don't want to play the Mandoviol enough.

Why does a creature handler need to kill and skin creatures before they can tame em, well it's a part of the progression, so is the game terms.

I'm just really happy that i went to get Master Entertainer before i continued my Musician ship, cause i could play the Mandoviol, that one thing made the trip worth it all. I played it even long up in the Music skill tree though i could have gotten more XP if i stoped and played a better instrument.

I agree with Ztiletto. I went for Master Entertainer to get away from all the horns and it was well worth it.

People love the Mandoviol, I got a couple requests for IDing and I found some fun in dancing and will possibly continue with it tho I hated it while going for Master Entertainer.

And the most important thing. I love to play SW1 again simply because of the e-guitar sound

Leave the mandoviol where it is. This way it remains something special which people really appreciate

Does anyone on the entertainer board do anything else than complain. If you don't want to go master entertainer, don't cry about losing the mandoviol. I'm going the master musician with my already achieved master entertainer (which i feel was worth it). This means I lose out on beeing a full bounty hunter in my spare time, due to the loss of points. So I can't use a lighting rifle. Yes they did screw up by saying the master musician knows all songs and instruments. PLEASE get over it and start using the boards for something constructive other than full gripe sessions.

New Master Entertainer! Woo! I love the Ceremonial song! *cough* But anyway, it's really not that hard, and I loved being able to dance on the side while other musicians were in the group and I didn't want to play starwars1 again... =_=

And for image designing, it goes pretty quick. Just have a Zabrak sit with ya and change his horn color. 100 exp points each time np.

Yes it's only when you get Tier 4 in all the Entertainer trees, and get the master entertainer you get the Mandoviol, it's been said more than once in the post, but to clear any doubt here it is again.. The Musician branch doesn't give you Mandoviol, it's a pure Master Entertainer thing. And so should it always be, live with it.

You think that's the way it should be? I think a Master Musician should know how to play ALL instruments, being that he's a master MUSICIAN. A master Entertainer is sort of a jack of all trades and is good at dancing, image design, and music. They did not concentrate on music only so they shouldn't be given the coolest instrument in the game instead of the master musicians. It's not a huge deal, but this means I will have to unlearn a lot more than I thought I was going to if I want the mandoviol, which I do.

I believe the point was to provide a certain 'perk' to actually achieving Master Ent. A dance, instrument and song not available in any other way. I see both sides - I happen to love the instrument and the song, but there are so few Master Ents that I rarely get to play Ceremonial as anything but a solo

--===WARNING===--
Real-life comparison follows, please do not read!
--===*******===--

One of my trumpet professors, Scott Thornburg, I would consider a master musician. Here's his resume:

An experienced performer he has been Principal Trumpet with the New York City Symphony, the Summerfare Opera Festival Orchestra at SUNY-Purchase, the Philharmonia Virtuosi, the Stamford Symphony, Musica Sacra, the New York Chamber Players, and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.

As Principal Trumpet with the Orchestra of St. Luke¼s he performed at the Caramoor Festival and he has toured South America, Europe, and the United States with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

He is a member of the New York Trumpet Ensemble, and has performed with the Canadian Brass, Parnassus, the New York Brass, and the American Brass Quintet.

He was featured as soloist with Philharmonia Virtuosi, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Juilliard Symphony.

His teachers have included William Vacchiano, Gilbert Johnson, Raymond Mase, Richard Giangiulio, and Mel Broiles.

My point? When I auditioned for the school he asked me if I was also auditioning for the jazz program. I said no, I'm not comfortable improvising etc. He said he wasn't either. He's a master musician, there's no doubt about it. But he doesn't know one of the songs in the tree, if you take my meaning.

Further, his brother Lee Thornburg, is a comercial player in LA formerly of Tower of Power, many recordings on backup, The Tonight Show band, and much more.

http://www.nbc.com/The_Tonight_Show_with_Jay_Leno/bios/Lee_Thornburg.html

Also a consumate musician who has much facility with the instrument. Don't quote me but I don't think Lee went to Juliard, or at least he didn't graduate from there I think.
Again, what's my point? He's not his brother, he doesn't like classical trumpet repetoir and can't play it with nearly the ease and excellent sound as Scott. Not a dis on him, he's great at what he does and he doesn't want to do other things.

To sum up: Both Masters of music. Neither knows all the instruments or all the songs.

The point I'm trying to illustrate with this terrible comparison to the real world is that we all don't have to be J.S. Bach or Mozart here. Some of us can be the amazing Asno the dancing wookiee and skip the nalargon. Or the mando if we choose. If you want to be the best be the best. I don't see a problem with some trade offs.

Even Wynton Marsalis, another master, decided to stop playing and recording classical music because he thought it was taking too much from his jazz creativity and endurance particularly.

Just my 2 creds.

I thought you could learn to play mandoviol from the musician profession? You have to get all four tiers of image design and dancing in the entertainer profession to master it for the mandoviol? That can't be right, is it?
