this is probably not the best forum as the entertainer can't buff, but also every dancer/musician is primary an entertainer so i decided to put it here
here are just some ideas about buffs... as probably afk buffbots will disappear from game (/cheer)
i think that entertainers should try to suggest some improvements to the buffing system to make buffs more easy to get and more reliable.
easy to do buffs
sometimes the thing of /setperform /watch /listen can be confusing, a novice player can not know that he have to start/stop watch/listen,
it will be better if the control on buffs will be transfered totally to the entertainer, an idea is to allow /setperform only on people that is watching the entertainer, otherwise it will say something like "[name] is not watching you", also the buffs should finish/be effective not when the player /stopwatch but when the entertainer /endperform.
this way the customer should just watch the entertainer while he do all the works, when the buff is finished he will see his stats improved and know that he can stop to watch, also if something is not working right (the customer is not watching the right entertainer) the buffer will know that and can warn the customer
Awesome idea, I think it would help things out a lot if you get a message when a player is watching and if they stop watching
buffs and groups
ATK entertainers like to group togather, this could be problematic if many people are asking for buffs
the group leader have to invite customers in the group to try get them grab fast buffs, and this could be not so easy due to entertainers chatting togather or the xps spam... nothing that some other tell can't fix but is still time spent awaiting by the customer... not to say if the cantina is full and the entertainer group is full.
Sometimes are groups of people that ask for buffs, this can be problematic too, the entertainer should have to disband from is group or the customers have to disband their group and ask for admittance to the entertainer one.
i think that a possible solution could be a sor of buffing list... the entertainer will not need to group with people to buff more than 1 customer but will have just to add them to a list...
the entertainer just setperform for the customer, and he is put at the bottom of the list... that list can have various slots eg 10 slots, so an entertaner will be able to buff up to 10 people at same time, whitout be forced to regroup or invite customer in his group.
it will also be nice if in the list there will be a sort of buff indication, so for every customer will be know how much time is needed to complete the buff.
the people will be put into the list when the entertainer do a /setperform and will be put out of it (with buff effective) when the entertainer do a /endperform
A cool idea as well, why should musicians and dancers (that like to flourish with each other) have to regroup just to insure a perfect buff?
Though I do think the option to buff through a group should stay in the game, as the list of names for raids can get very long
buff effectiveness
sometimes happen that live entertainers give out bad buffs, dunno why it happen, but is something that should be fixed, also for a group of live entertainer is nice to change music/dance, if this change make buffs turn out worse or broke them this can be a problem both for the group, that is forced to continue to play that song untill all buffs are done and both for customers that have maybe to await more time if a group is planning to change a song.
an entertainer should also be allowed to change dance/music/instrument during the buffing session whitout breaking it, the buff duration/effectiveness should be dependant just to time spent listening the entertainer and regardless of the song/dance/instrument he is using/playng, this way the entertainer group will be able to perform as he wish while his member are allowed to give best buffs.
if something like a buff bar will be implemented it can be helpfull in these occasion when the buff time will be a bit higher eg to make a full buff i have to play 5mins (and the customer have to listen)
after 3 min of buff our group decide to change a song and stop to play for some secs (changes of instruments and so on) the bar stop to at 3/5 of total and when the entertainer begin to play again it continue to grow up... when is full is clear that the buff is done and is a full buff even if i spent maybe total mins playing and 30sec pause.
I agree, not being able to change songs or dances during a buff session limits the entertainers ability to perform the way they want to. This would be a nice change to content.
buff and availability
atm there are not many atk entertainers around capable of giving full buffs this can be quite painfull for combatant that are used to get easilly their buff.
an idea can be to let both musicians and dancers to buff mind/focus/willpower, ir will remove the difference of 2 professions but can make it easyer to find buffs and to make it faster
okfor this last one i'm not too sure but it can help and can halso be nice for entertainers that prefer to specialize in a single profession and will be still able to do both buffs.
hmm, thats a radical thoughtI like it though, it would make things much easier.
Id like to add making buffs over-rideable, like doc buffs. That way in case a bad buff is given, it can be fixed right away.
Customers should also be able to get both buffs at the same time by listening to a musician and watching a dancer instead of having to do them seperately. I mean, when you watch someone dance in RL they usually do it to music right? ![]()
One thing I HAVE been pressing for is making buffing a radial menu option ONLY on people currently watching/listening to you. That should make buffing a bit more foolproof from the entertainer side.
Zilod wrote:mmmm stronger but shorter buff...about strenghti must admit that i really don't like ham buffs, and for sure not bufs so strong as we have on swgin my opinion buffs that increase your hp to 3 or 4x are too difficult to balance and can make the game too easy (as happened to swg) so i'm not too positive about stronger buffs
Buffs WILL be being revisited. A LOT of people feel they are way too strong. Biggest support is for making doc buffs percentage based. Spice and likely chef aren't as likely to become percentage, but I'd be surprised if doctor buffs survived the combat balance in their current state.
The absolute worst a buff can do is 10x the base state. If you've got 300 secondary stat and get a buff close to 3k, that gives you 10x what you started with.

Just curious (No plans to bring this up as an idea to the devs at the moment, just a random thought) how would people feel about quickly applied buffs that have shorter duration? Say a minute or less for a 30 minute buff? Maybe still allow the normal buff but make it stronger than the normal buff to balance the short duration. That would make the PvP people happy, as they like to play fast and hard, and will probably see the cloning center within a half hour anyway.. And it will give entertainers a reason to go out into the field.
While I think the 30min buff would be nice for a raid just outside my door I dont think it is good for overall raiding. A lot of times my entertainer buffs gowhile im stillraiding ![]()
But it would be very nice to have that quick one when rushing into battle, as long as they dont replace the longer duration buffs I think its a great idea ![]()

name of the issues
problem
suggested solution
about the group buffing i'm not too sure, have not much experience of raids, the idea behind the list is also to make buffing indipendent from group as entertainers have max freedom to group with other entertainers, whitout the "templation" to do solo atk buffbots and be able to buff 40 people at once instead of let's say 20.
there could be another solution for the problem? you think that the list as it is now will be so inefficent in rads enviroment?
Well I am just concerned on how the list will be implemented in your idea.
Will the entertainer have to;
1. click on each person to add them to the list? ( bad idea with so many people)
2.type in their names?( really bad idea with so many people)
3. will they automatically be added when they watch or listen? ( bad idea because you might not get paid for the buffs)
Thanks for all the effort it took you to type all this out Zilad, especially since english isnt your first language.

This is a bug that crept in with publish 8.Simultaneous dance/music buffsused to work fine, then publish 8 broke it. We've been trying to get it fixed too.
Yar, I know when it started happening, all combatants know lol.
Have they confirmed it as a bug? I thought it was put in to stop double buffing.
