You can always /target then press `. Even if you aren't looking at them you'll get a radial menu under your mouse.

Inside my heart is breaking, my make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly - my friends

Well I am just concerned on how the list will be implemented in your idea.

Will the entertainer have to;

1. click on each person to add them to the list? ( bad idea with so many people)

2.type in their names?( really bad idea with so many people)

3. will they automatically be added when they watch or listen? ( bad idea because you might not get paid for the buffs)

Thanks for all the effort it took you to type all this out Zilad, especially since english isnt your first language.

aaaa you had to see my jedi issues... that was long

the idea to add people to the list was using the /setperform or an option on the radial menu or a button toolbar

probably this last option is the fastest, you have just to select the guy and press the button

i agree that if you have to buff a group will be easyer to just group with them, i tought of a command like

/setperformgroup, when you target the group leader or the group member and they are added to the list, but i don't think it can work well cause

1) maybe not all people in the group are watching/listening you

2) maybe you have not enought space in your list to put all the group member in it

3) you really don't know if someone is not paying you (expecially for big groups and when your list was not empty)

the first 2 are more problematic as if some group members don't enter in the list then you have to discover who are them, and probably you will know only when all other group members are buffed, the scenario will be like... "ok all done... enjoy" "ehi i have not the buff" "i have not them too" "i have them" "mah i have not it" "okok who has not been buffed?" "me" "me" "me"

chosing people 1/1 have some advantages, you know who are you buffing (and if he pay you), you know if something is wrong (he is not watching you for example), you can keep buffing no stop whitout many troubles with "missing" buffs

in raids for example you can use doc lines to keep the order (buffing peoples awaiting doc buffs), or you can tell your coustomers to form a circle around you then you start to select the guy at 12, at 1, at 2 and so on until you have your list full. the guy at position 12 will be buffed before the guy at postion 1,2,3 ecc so he can leave the spot and someone else can get it, then the guy at position 1 will leave and so on. (a sort of doc line but a lot faster as only some secs will be between position 12 and position 1 for example)

also if some other idea come to mind....

aaaa almost forgot even with actual groupbuffs there are problems and you actually don't know who are you buffing here some examples that happened

1) doc or cm that ask to join the group to heal group member

this was very common in the past (before tumblers) when medics used to get their xps in cantina, many asked to join the group to have a better control of the situation and see if someone needed healing, but some players asked just to get free buffs, they joined the group and healed it's members just for the few mins necessary to get the buffs and then bye bye

2) people who needed some teaching

you don't know how many people need ranged support 1... the plan is simple ask if someone can teach you some low level skill (eg support1) to try to enter in entertainer group and grab free buffs

3)novices entertainers

chars made novice entertainers just to enter in the entertainer group and grab the buff, works expecially well if you have for example just novice medic, you have to surrender it to grab novice entertainer and then get medic back

4) fake entertainers

even better than novices... they present with some instrument or leotard asking to join the entertainer group, entertainers have a sweet heart and generally doesn't ask for proofs eheh, again they enter the group and after some mins... uops i have to leave...

5) entertainer friends

if you have some entertainer friend (even low level) you can just ask him to make you join the group to get the free buff, maybe you can also tip you friend something for that, or you can hire a low level entertainer... i give you 2k if you make me join the group.

in alll these cases you are actually buffing people whitout know that and whitout know who are them.

Just curious (No plans to bring this up as an idea to the devs at the moment, just a random thought) how would people feel about quickly applied buffs that have shorter duration? Say a minute or less for a 30 minute buff? Maybe still allow the normal buff but make it stronger than the normal buff to balance the short duration. That would make the PvP people happy, as they like to play fast and hard, and will probably see the cloning center within a half hour anyway.. And it will give entertainers a reason to go out into the field.

While I think the 30min buff would be nice for a raid just outside my door I dont think it is good for overall raiding. A lot of times my entertainer buffs gowhile im stillraiding

But it would be very nice to have that quick one when rushing into battle, as long as they dont replace the longer duration buffs I think its a great idea

But if you had an entertainer along with you to re-apply it quickly?

Right, it would be very nice I know a lot of entertainers that are also involved in the GCW. They dont go to the NPC cities and buff people, they use their skills on the field and this would be a great addition. I cant think of any profession opposing it.

Oh, I just thought of something

Since the best part of this kind of buff is how quickly it can be given there would have to be some compromising concerning where it would be available. Like will they be able to give the buff without a camp? They can already buff inside a base, so for defenders its not an issue. But the attackers might have trouble finding a place (since many cities have their bases in town and surrounded by houses) to give the buffs with a scout camp.

Im bumping this because it would make me Mdancer again on chilastra

Please dont give up on this idea Tiagra, I think it is awesome and I cant see any entertainer that is involved in the GCW or PvP being anything but supportive of it

I'm not *against* the idea. However, being an entertainer involved in PvP, I can already say how much of a pain in the ass it is to give the 2 hour buffs. I mean, honestly, I just participated in PvP tonight, and one of the main reasons I don't do it that often is because of all the downtime. I am seriously dancing away for like an hour of prep time while people get their acts together. But, usually, when I'm done, I know I don't have to deal with it again for another 2 hours hopefully. I can't imagine everybody who would keep saying "reapply my buff" over and over again. Ugh. LOL

As an option, it's not a bad option when you're under attack and you want that buff quickly. I just foresee me never actually being able to fight because I'm constantly dancing.
