Thread: Entertainerbuffs needs to be applied MUCH FASTER. 40 minutes is insane!

Let me tell you, that its very rare for me to even bother about entertainerbuffs at all becouse its such a great 'hole' in my limited time online. Its nice to visit the cantina once in awhile, but 16-40 minutes is just too long.

Entertainer buffs needs the following boosts:

A) They need to be applied MUCH FASTER. 10 minutes (no flourishes) for half a buff (20 minutes for a full) is nowhere near the maximum 1,5 minutes for a full doctorsbuff. T'ssolok needs to improve the speed as much as Havla does.
B) They need to be higher. +1000 max doesnt match the doctorsbuffs, and we all know how dominating Mind is to PvP.
C) They need to last 3-4 hours. Being forced to doublebuff to match the doctorsbuff leads to 40 minutes waiting, for one buff sesssion.
D) They need to be appliable in more places.
E) Entertainment Center should improve the buffs!

Besides that, I also have an annoying sig that looks like part of the post.

A master dancer or musician who is at the keys and ready to buff (has a quickness buff and is doing enough flourishes) can buff your mind stats in 3:15 for the full two hour entertainer buff. Stacking entertainer buffs is an exploit and you should not be doing this as it can lead to a suspension or banning of your game account.

Its like sologrouping and tumbling. Everybody does it, at least on my server.

I have never seen someone that can do both buffs in 4minutes. 8-12 minutes with quickness buffs is the fastest I have seen. Im sorry, but 3:15 sounds a bit extreme for both buffs.

Jemy does in fact make some good points. There are significant differences between Doctor and Entertainer buffs, and there doesn't appear to be any good reason why.

Duration
Doctor: 3 hours, more if the crafter of the buffpack experimented for duration
Entertainer: 2 hours.
What Entertainer buffs could be: ~3hrs, with bonuses for, say, instrument/footwear* quality.

Buff Amount
Doctor: +X, where X depends on the experimentation on the buffpack and on the doctors skill
Entertainer: +X percent, where X depends only on the entertainers skill.
What Entertainer buffs could be: +X, where X depends on the entertainers skill, and maybe, say, instrument/footwear* quality.

Time to apply
Doctor: a few seconds. Doctors skill and food help.
Entertainer: a few minutes. Entertainer skill makes no difference. Food (Tsollok) should help, but is broken.
What Entertainer buffs could be: Merge Fatigue Healing and Wound Healing into a single branch. Add a buff speed branch. Fix Tsollok (sp?).

* I don't really mean footwear. I really, really want instrument quality to affect something, and it would also be nice for Dancers to have something craftable that can affect their gameplay.

One person can't do both in 3:20 but two players can. One player should be able to do both in pretty close to 7 minutes.

As to the double buff that is an exploit and I do know of at least 2 players that got banned for that.
As to increasing our buffs and making them longer. The CU is coming and buffing is going to be changed.
My guess is that they aren't likely to make buffs more powerful and last longer as that would seem to go against the whole idea of the CU... but who knows.

Doc Buffs didn't start out like that. When they started they were much weaker and random as well as didn't last nearly as long and that was random also.

Entertainer Skill DOES make a difference. It's just that by the time the buff is done the difference isn't noticeable.

Tsollok MIGHT work. But due to the way buffing goes right now it also isn't noticeable.

Doc Buffs are what they are after much work from the doctors community.

Unfortunate, the Entertainers do not have the same opportunities to effect their buffs.

They cant buy a +25/+25 BE wear in the closest shop. They need to pay like 25 million.

They cant boost their buffs with foodstuff (like bivoli +25).
They cant buff anywhere by using a droid (thus, they cant follow on adventure and are pretty much stuck inside the cantina).

You assume they can do it fast if they have an Action buff, that requires a doctor. They cant apply this actionbuff themselves, where a doctor is 100% self-sustaining.

What if, an entertainer COULD get +25 buffpower through a foodbuff.
What if, an entertainer COULD buy a +25 BE dress from the nearest BioEngineer?

What if, an entertainer COULD buff anywhere.
What if, an entertainer COULD get a +10% bonus in cantina or with a droid.

What if, an entertainer COULD get a +10% bonus for an Entertainment Center?

What if, an entertainer COULD offer a +2000 buff for 3 hours in 2 minutes out in nowhere.

Doesnt work since pub 12.1 anyway.

If the Doctorsbuff would work like Entertainerbuff, it would be very different. Would max out at 2000, and people would likely not go there becouse they need to put more points in the 2ndaries.
Worse is, with the CU entertainerbuffs might not be needed at all.

I really enjoyed your first post you brought up many things I have read Live entertainers ask for. Alone I would say the quickest I could do both buffs is

1) 2 seconds... "/setp" after I allready know they listening. 25% the time they allready are.

2) 2 seconds... "/mb2" alias non looping buff for music.

3) 3:20 Play a song

4) 15 seconds.. type in "you can stoplisten now and please let me know if it worked" --I do not stop playing music until person checks and lets me know theyreceived buff...

5) 10-??? depending on how many times I have to repeat asking above and for a answer, I have no way of knowing if they got it!

6) 20 seconds "/stopmusic" "remove instrument from hands" (I leave droid playing I like to hear music when dancing)

7) 2 seconds... "/sdpr2"alias for startdancing popular II

8) 10 seconds.. "ask if person ready and is now watching" most times they are quick.. Itis hard to tell when aiming a T-21 at me

9) 2 seconds... "/setp;/db1" non looping dance alais

10) 3:20 dance

11) 15+ seconds let him/her know they can stop watching and wait for their mind to increase!

durning the song and dance I also type in the effects and holo emotes andtalk depending on how I feel at the time. I do not answer tells while buffing I give the person 100% of my attention.

that is how it works for me. it takes time when someone takes a smoke break. WOW some days they stand there 15-20 on their smoke break.

This is a typical one-one buff. I do not have any macro speech to ask them to stop listening. I type it in. I guess that could help in the speed but I am nota Macro speech person. Rather misspell it and be myself then look like a recording.

That is a mess up there but gives you a basic idea what I do,

I think if Doctor buffs were limited to doubling each stat and two hours they would still be useful. I don't know that they would still be charging 11k for a set of six.

Entertainer and doctor buffs are a different beast.

Yes, an entertainer takes longer to buff one person.

But get a group in there, and they will be done long before the doctor. In fact, if you find an entertainer who knows how to buff (As opposed to someone who never flourishes, which isn't terribly entertaining or good at buffing) you'll spend less time getting buffed by the entertainer than you will waiting in line to get your doctor buff.

Consider entertainers can buff up to 20 people in 3:20. Get a musician/dancer pair and they can do 19 people in 3:20 for all 3 stats. That's around 10 seconds per person. A doctor would take 20-30 minutes to buff that same group of 19 people.
