But get a group in there, and they will be done long before the doctor. In fact, if you find an entertainer who knows how to buff (As opposed to someone who never flourishes, which isn't terribly entertaining or good at buffing) you'll spend less time getting buffed by the entertainer than you will waiting in line to get your doctor buff.
Consider entertainers can buff up to 20 people in 3:20. Get a musician/dancer pair and they can do 19 people in 3:20 for all 3 stats. That's around 10 seconds per person. A doctor would take 20-30 minutes to buff that same group of 19 people.

If you talk about efficency you cant forget Havla. Thats about 5 seconds per person for 6 stats.
Also, on your line, you need 2 people to pull that off. You only need 1 doctor.

Besides that, I also have an annoying sig that looks like part of the post.

Doc Buffs didn't start out like that. When they started they were much weaker and random as well as didn't last nearly as long and that was random also.

Doc Buffs are what they are after much work from the doctors community.
Unfortunate, the Entertainers do not have the same opportunities to effect their buffs.
They cant buy a +25/+25 BE wear in the closest shop. They need to pay like 25 million.
They cant boost their buffs with foodstuff (like bivoli +25).
They cant buff anywhere by using a droid (thus, they cant follow on adventure and are pretty much stuck inside the cantina).
You assume they can do it fast if they have an Action buff, that requires a doctor. They cant apply this actionbuff themselves, where a doctor is 100% self-sustaining.
What if, an entertainer COULD get +25 buffpower through a foodbuff.
What if, an entertainer COULD buy a +25 BE dress from the nearest BioEngineer?
What if, an entertainer COULD buff anywhere.
What if, an entertainer COULD get a +10% bonus in cantina or with a droid.
What if, an entertainer COULD get a +10% bonus for an Entertainment Center?
What if, an entertainer COULD offer a +2000 buff for 3 hours in 2 minutes out in nowhere.

This is sometimes forgotten, but, entertainers can buff in camps.

Tell ya what...if you dislike interacting with performers so much, don't. I'm sorry you apparently have had more experiences with people who don't know what they're doing than those who do. You are obviously a professional. Unfortunate, that kind of professionalism is something I have yet to see on my server. There are many many entertainers, but they are either novices, busy or afk-buffers.

Grabbing an entertainerbuff is nowhere close to grabbing a doctorsbuff. For the doctorsbuff you either just catch the first best doctor and get buffed (takes 5min max to find). Finding an entertainer is more a question of finding an entertainer that have time to focus on you. I have never seen an entertainer at the keyboard, advertising that she actually do buffs. Maybe they are in Coronet or Theed, but thats far far away from the good grinding places (where there are already several doctors waiting for you with open arms when you come). The entertainers in Mining Outpost, Endor or Dathomir are often AFK buffers. Finding a couple of available entertainers (Musician+Dancer) sounds like spotting Elvis. And even if I theoretically found a good at-the-keyboard entertainer that can buff in 3:20, thats still 6:40 which is alot of time for a 2h buff, not forgetting the time it takes for her to finish the buff she was already doing when I came by.

I know... but they cant place camps...
A doctor only needs a droid.

I've never seen a buffing doctor doing their line faster than a person every minute or so. So if you've got 4 people ahead of you in line.. That doctor buff is going to take longer than a full entertainer buff done by one person.

Now about 2 vs 1.. Musicians and dancers are meant to work together. Music and dance. I personally don't like dancing to no music. I'll do it if theres no musicians around, but I'd rather drag a musician along with me. So if I give a buff, it's both music and dance in 3:20.

And yes, finding live entertainers is hard now. Want to know why? It's pretty depressing to go to the mining outpost, advertise (I hate spamming personally, but I did it because people looking for buffs say they want the advertising) and have people walk right past you to the buff-bot. So if there's a bot there, there isn't much point to sticking around. It gets to a point that one just stops checking and just doesn't bother anymore. Once the bots are gone, you'll likely find me at the outposts again. Finding another live entertainer there buffing wouldn't be the same as finding a bot there, because at least a live entertainer would be someone to jam with.

Well I could argue that buffs aren't "needed" now, but people want every edge they can get. Even if Doc buffs were made to work like Ent buffs and it changed how important buffs were anyways. People will still get them for that extra bit in PvP. For that extra edge in PvE.

What will be interesting is to see what does happen with Doc buffs. If they get "nerfed" then all that work by the Doc community to get them to where they are now will have been sort of a waste. Which would really suck I think.

First its 3:20 to get both buffs now not 3:20 times two. I don't know your server but I can tell you why you don't see many live ents in MO on corbantis. I went there last night with my lady Imaji. We were live and surrounded by 4 buff bots. Of the dozens of people that came in 8, yes a whopping 8 responded to my statements that we could get them all their buffs in only 4 minutes. Of that same 8 only 4 tipped. Now we were there a good 2 hours and entertained the whole time to do 8 buffs. Also since we were live no one had to wait for the last buff to complete. I can add you to my group and start your timer immediately even though I'm in the middle of buffing someone else. It is a passive group buff and the quality of the buff depends on how many flourishes you watch and listen to not some start and stop point on my part.

It is obvious you have only used bots since you think that it required to wait till the next session. There is no session unless it is a robot that must do things in very ordered sequence. A live pair of entertainers can have up to 18 people in their group and one person not in the group on /setperform and have each of them join and leave at different times. So with good quickness/stamina buffs I can have a constant flow of people in and out of the group getting buffed. It doesn't matter though because the majority of people pay no attention to spacial, to the other entertainers in the room, or anything except spamming the air trying to get invited to a robot's group. Even worse I had a few people tell me that duel buffs didn't work and they didn't want it that way; not because it is true, we proved it works fine, but because they ran into a bot who hadn't spent the time figuring it out or fixing their macro. So not only do I now have to compete with a robot but I have to compete with completely false assumptions about the current buffing bugs thanks to those same lazy bots not knowing a thing about the profession they pretend to have mastered.

12.2 on Test Center:

Profession Entertainer / Dancer / Musician

  • The minimum time required to watch an Entertainer before having a mind buff applied has been reduced from 2 minutes to 1 minute.
  • It nowtakes half as long to apply an Entertainer mind buff.
  • It nowtakes a quarter of the time it used to take to heal Mind/Focus/Willpower wounds.

YAY!!!
