Upcoming Changes
The following contains information that has been approved forus to release to you.
Timeframe:
These items are currently "In Development". However, there are a lot of variables to account for between "In Development" and release to Live so please keep in mind that this is subject to change.
New Song:
Musicians will receive a new song. This song will be granted to all musicians at the Music Knowledge I skill box.
New Dance:
Dancers will receive abasic and advanced version ofa new danceto their repertoire. These dances will be granted to all dancers at the Dance Knowledge I and Dance Knowledge II skill boxes respectively.
Battle Fatigue Removed:
Battle Fatigue will no longer be acquired from combat, and entertainers will no longer be able to heal battle fatigue. Any player that logs in after this change will have all battle fatigue cleared instantly.
Entertainer Healing Experience Removed:
Since mind wound and battle fatigue healing are no longer the responsibilities of the entertainer, Entertainer Healing experience will be removed and replaced with dancer or musician experience as appropriate.
New Props and Particle Effects:
New particle effects will be granted for use by dancers and musicians. Dancers will also have the ability to hold and use dance props. Some types of props might include swords, staves, batons, sparklers, glow sticks, swoosh sticks, etc.
Skill Tree Alterations:
Entertainers:
Musicianship line: Instrument certs and schematics will be removed
Dancing line: No change
Entertainment Healing line: This line will change to instrument/prop use. Instrument certs and schematics as well as dance prop certs and schematics will go here.
Musicians:
Techniques healing line: This will be used solely for particle effects. Skill mods and schematics will be removed
Wound Healing line: This will be used for inspiration and other enhancements. Wound healing skill mods will be renamed and/or replaced with enhancement skill mods.
Knowledge line: All instrument certs will be removed
Fatigue Healing line: This line will now be used for instrument certs and schematics.
Dancers:
Techniques line: This will be used solely for particle effects. Skill mods will be removed.
Wound Healing line: This will be used for inspiration and other enhancements. Wound healing skill mods will be renamed and/or replaced with enhancement skill mods.
Knowledge line: no changes
Fatigue Healing line: This will be used for prop use and crafting. Any prop schematics or certs will be put in this line.
Other:
Experience gain is set to be increased for Dance and Music xp. The amount of increase is being discussed. Also,some issues with /covercharge will be addressed.
This is all the info we have right now. Again, keep in mind that this is all subject to change. (ie no promises of when this will happen or that these changes will happen exactly as stated)

Do you have any idea which type of XP will be used in place of Ent healing on the Ent prop line? It seems that it would be unfair for it to be exlusively either music or dance XP?

So what viable purpose does a musician or dancer have in game if one of the two things they could do is being removed? Since BF is being removed, all they can do is give a 10% exp buff (which they could do without going into the elite trees). Are they just for dancing around doing nothing or playing music for no real purpose except to play music? They offer no benefit to players except give a 10% exp buff which many people do not really bother getting?

The real point of the Entertainer profs has always been something pretty, fun, and Socially enhancing for Social players to do in the game. Or as TH once told me, "Entertainers aren't supposed to be functional."
Anyway, that said, the rumor from the Breakfast, E3, and FF has been that we'd be getting other buffs to do as well as the current Inspiration buffs we have now. The rumor is also that these new buffs are intended to be ATK only.
I'm guessing that our corrs haven't given us the details about these new buffs yet (that were even mentioned by a dev in here) because the details are still being worked out and they aren't ready to make an announcement about them yet.
BTW, grats on getting this info out to us, Ent Corrs! I know it can be hard to get stuff out of the C Forum, thanks for the effort you guys put in for us! /cheertireless Ent Corrs

More effects, music, and dances will be appreciated. And more xp per click will make grinding less mind-numbing.
However!!! Once BF is removed, what reason do entertainers even have to be in the game? If this is the way that AFKers are being chased away, I have to wonder what sleep-deprived person came up with this. Granted, I'll play for the sheer fun of it regardless, but making interation with useven more of a pointless option for Combat players is NOT what I wanted to see happen.

Well, aside from death, BF has been pretty much removed since the CU anyway. Fighting gives me maybe 1-2 BF in the same time I used to get 100-200. So, this has been pretty much in effect for a while now anyway, they're just finally taking out the need for BF to level an entertainer. I really, really hope, as an entertainer, that they hold off on removing BF til they get the buffs in place though. As things stand, there's just too little to draw people to entertainers. I think forcing them to go is a bad idea, but having some kind of lure to make it worthwhile would be nice.

I have exactly that problem now. I love to just dabble a bit in entertainer to be able to make some music. I love my kloo-horn, but this change would require me to either give up my songs or my instrument.
Now i have to consider well, how i can manage to still keep up my chars functionality without loosing my music. ![]()

Oddly enough I get alot of people just wanting the inspiration buffs on my Ahazi character. An aspiring Jedi or a proud crafter will be sure to take advantage of these. The AFK'ers are still a problem, they're great cause they are available 24/7. The downsides are these players away from the keyboard making money for not playing, that and being in a cantina full of AFK'ers gets pretty lonely.

I think the number of people with just the music tree of entertainer and no other boxes is minimal, isn't it?
If you're novice musician you already have 2 trees in entertainer...

If you're novice musician you already have 2 trees in entertainer...
I believe the reference was to moving from needing just Musician 0/0/4/0 to have access to all songs and instruments minus the Master Box ones to needing 0/0/4/4.
And question...what happened to the ten new songs mentioned in the Julio Torres article on Wired.com? Or the new flourish system? Anything approved for release to tell us?
I have a bad feeling about this.
