Thread: Runesabre Speaks Out About AFK Macroing!
The skill point system wouldn't be so tough if we weren't confined to one character per server. With several characters, we could dabble a lot more. I supported single-character-per-server (SCS) at launch, but the devs took a couple fateful steps that made SCS less appealing: most notably, the Holocron system. For now, the only ways we can dabbleare by playing on a different server, or by dismantling our existing characters, or by buying a second account. Fortunately, the Jedi revamp may make it more feasible for us to open up a second character, which will relieve some of the pain of the skill-point system.
As for the ID changes, this may be heresy, but I'm kinda glad it's going to take a bit more time and effort to master that profession. I think all professions, including ours, should work that way. It makes Master more of an accomplishment, and it makes attaining that level more satisfying. When I see a Master Bounty Hunter, my reaction is: good job.
Y'all need to get bent. lol... Entertainers are only good for buffing peeps. Can't fight... So, I made my alt master, and he's there to buff me and anyone else who needs it. Big deal. Didn't ruin anything. You all need to get out and experience RL more. lol It's only a game. The purpose is for it to be fun for everyone, and the everyones are those of us who are paying for it. If you don't like AFK macros, then don't do it. But stop slamming those of us who have better things to do in the game than sit there and dance/play/chat. All it's good for is mind/foc/will buffing. And the more efficient an AFK macro is, the faster we can get back out hunting!
You ought to be more concerned with what's happening in the real world. ![]()
Have fun, and don't stress over the little stuff.

You know, doctors need to get over it and worry about the real world. Their profession is so pointless. Healing and buffing, healing and buffing, how boring! Everbody knows that's all they can do, and if you're a doctor you can't spend your leftover skill points on other combat or crafting professions either, so you might as well just play an AFK buffbot all day.
And don't get me started on commandos. Setting stuff on fire -- the WORST! God that's the most boring and useless profession either. They should all re-roll.

Wow, how powerfully worded your arguement is!I can't thank you enough for opening my eyes to the truth and reality of the RL . . . why would I ever want to play a game justfor funwhen I can deal with RL concerns and issues instead? Its much smarter to stress over the big stuff then try and make my playtime more enjoyable. I should just pay my $15 a month to SOE and shut up about any and all things I am unhappy about, allow all the other players to run roughshot over me, my character and my character's profession and certainly never consider standing up for my rights as a paying member of this community . . .
How silly I have been for so many months . . . .

Ok here is what chaps my hide. I am not by any means a Hologrinder. I got my first holo before Christmas and then my second one with the present. I have just now started to grind out my second proffesion, which happens to be entertainer. I do want to eventually become a Jedi, but I put off entertainer for so long because it has absolutly no appeal for me. I find it almost repulsive to sit in the cantina and chat for hours on end. I finally get through it by the Grace of God using AFK macros and now I have to burn through the ID tree (Yuck!) and now because of the recent changes not only can I not AFK macro it, I can't macro it at all. So because of the changes I have to sit for works out to be 7 hours of game time in order to finish one tree, And thats if I can find one of my generous guilldmates to burn 7 hours with me. Realisticly I am looking at 10-14 hours of game time. Which for me as a casual player is about two weeks.Thats more time than it took me to grind through Master Weaponsmith. Here is the kicker. They think AFK macro's are ruining the proffesion because of a backwards Jedi proffesion that they installed. So because of short sighted development, I am forced to sit through a proffesion I find repulsive, that they just made even more repulsive by extending the time its going to take me to do it by 10-12 days. Where is the logic? I have been playing this game since beta and I can honestly say that the knee jerk reactions by SOE are whats ruining the game, not some overly creative hologrinders they created in the first place.
Your right you shouldn't be wasting your time! Do something in the game you like! Thats why they are revamping the approach to Jedi. There is something in this game for everyone. Forget the grind. Have fun. Do the Jedi Quests when they role out. The AFK macros are ruining the portion of the game I happen to like. Once the revamp comes around we will all be much happier.

LOL! Has no one read the preview for publish 9 and 10? Give up the grind, thats almost laughable. It says plain as day that you are going to have to "purchase" certain skill sets during the quests. How do you purchase skills? ...
