I also wouldn't mind being able to put an entertainer mission on the terminals to come to my crafting house...this would give an opportunity for someone who claims to be serious about making dough and buffing a chance to really do it.

The missions could use a great rework. But to put PC homes on the terminal is not the way. Here is a example. You add the mission, then log out, client crash, lost connection, or power outageI just waisted my time trying to get to you.I do watch the "ENT" chat on the server I am on and if someone ask in there I will let them know where I am at.

If there is another entertainer live in the cantina I will also give the person his/her name.

also I stress this, myself and many others do add starport spamers to a ignore list. So if you do AFK spam your shop there is a good chance you may be on ignore by live entertaining entertainers.

I gave up on the entertainer buffs a while ago and I do not miss them. I got tired of trying to find a musician when a buff was needed, and then to get a full buff from a master could even be more difficult to find. I also found I got very little in the experimetation buff part...in fact, I seemed to get more moderates than the occassional amazing. I will not take the time to network & develop 'contact lists'to track down a musician as suggested elsewhere -- that is a time sink and a no-fun-factor for me. Due to cookie cutter weapons and having the best resources, I just do not really need the ridiculous 2% resource buff (should never have gone live) as a weaponsmith, although it is handy to have. I can see this may make a bigger difference in foods. I can only say for my server is that dedicated chefs are hard to find, so whether one gets a buff or not will not really effect food sales.

I do like the entertainer profession, but the services of entertainers should have been directed to the MAJORITY of the players, who are combatant. The entertainer system should have been set up where AFK does nothing at all enhancement wise. I also firmlybelieve BF should have stayed in game, but maybe at a slower rate.

This somewhat reminds me of the Ranger issues out there. We have a chat channel that you can find on any server called RIN (ranger information network). I know that some servers have a channel called Ent but what about making a channel called ATK that all ents of all kinds can use. I know i'd regularly use this to find some good 'ol entertainment. I hate afkers and would rather not be buffed if that is all I can find. All the ent profs are truly special and should be enjoyed to their fullest. Gorath has a kick ass atk set of people called The Kreetles. They rock

There is an Ent Channel on Gorath, but last time I checked, no one was using it.

Gorath: Sti-fi Osp-ro - Domestics Trader
Gorath: Honeewoo - Master Entertainer
Kettemoor: Honeewoo - Master Entertainer

I think as a whole, the "novel" concept of a unifying ent chat network has kinda fallen into disuse across all the galaxies, I know mine is dead, and I listen in on it on both my characters.

AFKing on small servers is devastating. I haven't played for a couple of weeks now, and I doubt things have changed significantly, but Scylla's chat channel (which used to be vibrantly full of chat) is now totally dead. I used to often check who was in the room, then look disappointingly at those same names with (AFK) next to them in the same cantina as me.

The point is that is there are so few entertainers left, and a large percentage of those are AFK, who is left to chat with? deliver buffs to crafters? I know there are rumours of server merges, but I don't think things will imporve until AFKing become obsolete. I would hate to see an end to macros (all professions use them) but surely a logout timeout while AFK is attainable, if SOE want to implement it.... (which they clearly don't)

I have a feeling that AFK is a symptom and not the cause of our problems. You could get rid of all the AFK's and we would be left with empty cantinas.

Other games have this wonderful feature to stop AFK playing: While AFK, you can't... anything! The best you got is the ability to run about, you can't even chat unless you take the tag off! Hell, its in a SOE game: EQ2!

It would be such an easy fix, if they really cared to fix it.

Update: Well this would take care of people wearing AFK tags, but what about players AFK while being ATK tagged? I would support the elimination of macros to bring ATK back. Thats one thing they tried to implement with CU: balance by removing the l33t combat macros that some 12 year old could download off the internet between looking at dirty pictures of Misty from Pokemon (sorry had to take a moment to rank on l33tist combat people )

The elimination of macros is your great idea. Ok, lets just take a knife and cut the throat of every songwriter and musician out there. Just put us out of our misery now. Macros have helped us way more than they ever helped combat people. The only people left who couldperform a song and still flourish with an instrument would be people with two brains andfour hands that could type 90 words per minute. Dancers would be reduced to tapping a keyboard while watching a stopwatch. What is your end plan?To make being entertainer such a miserable set of professions that no one would ever want to be one?

Ya know, this is hilarity at its finest. This is going to be very harsh but then I am one unhappy canceled exmusician.

AFK musicians killed my character. They chased awaymost ofthe real entertainers that enjoyed their role in the world. Where were you guys supporting us then? Oh wait, you were on the side of the AFK buffbots and entertainers. (I realize that some supported entertainers but the vast, vastmajority did not)

You reap what you sew and frankly the buffbots and afk entertainers created this wonderful situation you have, so blame them.

Even more frankly lazy people that are not willing to work to get the buff but yet complain that they cant get it piss me off. Seriously do you want everything handed to you all the time? A little bit of searching or making friends because you need something that peson has is the way this game was designed to work. Now you are trying to make it so there is no interdependency, no social interaction.

Yes go to a vendor and buy an auto-musician. Make entertaining a crafting profession. WOOHOO!! Nobody became an entertainer to craft, they did it to interact with people. How do you think being able to craft replacements for ourselves would be a good thing in our eyes?

But as far as how the devs see it they wont ever do it, thank god. If they didnt cave into the combat whiners to get a portable mind buff back in the day they wont cave into the crafters.

No, it ismorelike apathy. I was in Mos Eisley lastnight practicing music and another entertainer showed up. Instead of us working separately in our own corner, we worked together(or I tried to as it was late and I was trying not to fall asleep)and it was fun again. It is amazing what a little extraflair will do to a performance. (There are some things that I don't know why are still in the game like flourish message spam.I had forgotten how annoying that is to a musician.) The removal of macros? I have like maybe one or two non-social or entertainer macros. And they are my hyperspace macros for Secret Delight, my YT-1300.
