"the problem is.... removing recursive macros will not stop buff bots.... It will merely make the macro strings a bit more work to tie togethor..."
Since you have no idea of how they're planning to do this, you can't logically draw either of those conclusions.

An AFK buffbot setting up shop in a cantina where folks are trying to lvl up or put on a show is the same as a TKM following around a novice, stealing all the kills, xp, and in general interfering with gameplay.

I will continue to report all public structure buffbots.

It's clear from many posts I've seen that many of the buffbots are in service in part to make entertainers lose money.
Hah! please point those posts out to me. Not one buff bot owner runs a bot to cause you a monetary loss. You have no product, no resources required for your service.. how could an entertainer operate at a loss?
i beg to differ on the money loss. i would like to see you try being a non-human entertainer and perform a 3-5 min buff without either paying for a quickness buff or scarfing some Accarragm.
There are also travel costs. People complained they couldnt find entertainers on some of the Adventure worlds a bit ago. how are we suppose to get there with no income? once again more money loss.
And yet again you want too see armies of master entertainer proffessions stil running around in their newbie clothes...i dont think so.

Have you ever considered hiring a musician/dancer for those buffs? Every once in a while I get a call to come buff a group for things like Krayt hunting teams, and other groups. I am more then willing to do it as long is it is worth while. If its a PVP battle, I'll even follow them in to watch the battle. I have even consider becoming a non-biased historian of said combat.
20 mins waiting? Have you tried talking to them? Oh yeah, don't forget, even some without (AFK) over the head are actually unattended as well. You see, if there wasn't so many of them out there, we might get more business and be happy to help if we got a fair income for doing so. It sounds like you've hardly given it a chance.

the fact is, that the entertainer communities cry for NERF is nerfing every character class in this game...by making the dev's force a quick fix thru nerfing recursive macros...
Your cries of NERF BUFFBOTS have game wide implications....AND will still not fix your problem...
There will still be afktainers, and buff bots...and you will still not be necessary...
and a lot of the community will take this out on the entertainers...
Unattended gameplay is undeniably a problem. It has been a problem for a long time now. Entertainers may have been the first ones tonotice the effects of it. Immediately we tried to get the message across that unattended play would cause serious problems for us. We have made frequent suggestions of how to fix it. Apparently the development team chose to remove recursive macros because of the fact that they are the main vehicle for unattended gameplay. If removing recursive macros is the best way to take care of unattended characters, then so be it. If it actually is a guick fix, I would be upset that it wasn't put into place a year ago, not that they are reducing the accessibility of buffs.
Don't blame your prblems on us. The few dedicatedperformers that are left are the ones that have playing the game as intended. We only ask that everyone else does the same. Unattended gameplay is an exploit of the macro system. Players should not be able to advance or advance other players, if they are not at their keyboard and playing the game. It is simply, unconscienable to go about it otherwise. It is unfair to those that want to play the game as it was intended. We never caused this problem or the fix to be required. It was the very AFKers and buff-bots that you defend that caused the problem and required a fix. So go blow your steam off at them if you are upset about the loss of recursive macros and yell at them for not playing the game as it should have been. If you have anything else to say about it, go talk to the exploiters or the dev team. Don't come whining to us, we only have been coming up with answers for the problems that you and the AFKers you defend caused, and the dev team ignored for far too long.
