There are Droids that Repair and heal.

With all the Devs have planned otherwise, it is unlikely we will see any new droids soon, except JTL astrodroids probably.

Verry true new droid's would be verry nice , but also like you said " there are a lot of professions that need work more than we do now, and they deserve the development time."
