Damn thats pretty scary...

Let's go with the "West Side Story" gang dance version, I like that better.

Which brings up a question. Is there an option among dancers to "synchronize"?

*heh* I'd forgotten the Jets vs. the Sharks when I was citing "dance fights" in various media presentations. Now I'm going to have "America" running through my head all day!

Dancers (and musicians) in SWG do have a synchronize ability. It's called /bandflourish and it causes all members of the band/dance troupe to perform the same flourish at the same time.

Since it takes the play out of everyone's hands but the leader, it tends to only be used when there's some sort of organized show going on.

If you mean competitions like cheerleading and dance teams in a scholastic competition, or ballroom dancing and that kind of thing, yes.

Yes, this is what I would qualify as a "dance duel". Anything where you compete against someone else by dancing would be a competition. For musicians, there are competitions as well. For instance, a "Battle of the Bands" is not a bunch of musicians throwing drumsticks at each other, but competing through their music. It just sounds violent. Don't get caught up on the "battle" and "duel" words that are being thrown around. It'sjust a dance competition. They can be anything from just having players dance and being judged, to the more back-and-forth type competitions (like the "You got served" style) where one player dances and then another player tries to top his/her moves.

In game, I could see one of two things. The more traditional style competition where two players or troupes dance/play and somehow get judged, either through some in-game rating system or just audience voting, or even just a panel of judges. The more "dance battle" type things could possibly be handled through flourishes. We obviously can't make up our own moves, but you could have one player do a flourish or group of flourishes and then the other player would have to match them, and so on.

Technically, these things can be done in-game as it is now. It would just have to be player run. I haven't seen an Entertainer competition posted anywhere, but you guys have been around longer than me.

However, as has been mentioned, I also think this is Entertainer content for the Entertainer. Possibly a few people would come and watch to see what is going on, but overall it would not add that much to the community interaction.
