Need a bit of help here...

Do I put dance.txt in:

a. Program Files\Sony\Station\Launchpad\SWG

~or~

b. Program Files\Star Wars Galaxies

????

I don't have the "root directory" mentioned in the instructions

Just gotta say I love this thread. I love to choreograph!

You need to type -

/load alias.txt - You need the ".txt" in the name. You only have to do this the first time you load it during that play session. If you alter your .txt file while playing and want your alias macro updated, just type /load after that.

Good luck to you, this is complicated stuff but well worth it. I know of a musician on Starsider who is writing a guide for alias macros that will hopefull get posted here at some point.

I keep getting a message that says this:
FAILED to load alias.txt

when I type in this:
/load alias

I've got alias.txt in the C:/programfiles/starwarsgalaxies/
directory.

What am I doing wrong?

Is there a way around the anti-looping protection? I'd like to just write some short macros and loop them while talking and such.

You can't loop, but you can macro. That's several hours worth, or more.

Oh I love this thread....... I just spent a half an hour reading so many complaints. This is like candy to me.

I think it would be neat to organize open mic nights...... Heck, I love the idea of slam poetry readings....sort of like the old beatnik days... a horn in the back ground.......Âits that stuff with a bitÂspoken word -Âfits in great with the whole rebel cause.Â

Hey everybody. Always enjoy checking this thread. Here's a song I've worked out for the fizzz or its soundalikes. (Won't play out right on any other instrument, so watch out.) Should anyone be interested, you ought to be able to enter this as a macro and have the timing and breaks all ready to go. It's called "Alderaan's Gone," set to the folk melody. Hope you like it.

And royalties. I seek royalties...

You can load alias in your txt, so looping isn't a problem. My musician macro looks like this (I don't use this in cantinas. I have a much shorter one).

Alias.txt

dma: /stand; /pause 10; /startmusic ballad; /flo 1; /flo2; /pause 10; /flo 3/ flo 4; /pause 10; ... etc... /stop music; /pause 5; /sit; /pause 300; /stand ... etc ... /sit; /pause 300; /load alias2.txt; /dmb

Alias2.txt

dmb: /stand; /pause 10; /startmusic ballad; /flo 1; /flo2; /pause 10; /flo 3/ flo 4; /pause 10; ... etc... /stop music; /pause 5; /sit; /pause 300; /stand ... etc ... /sit; /pause 300; /load alias3.txt; /dmc

And so on.

My problem is the game boots you if you stay afk, somewhere around the 15 minute mark. I like macroing because I can do things like clean my house, and take care of other errands.
