QFE.

So i both like and dislike the resource bonus. It'll let me go places for crafting that i previously couldn't. aka the stat caps on items. But then again i didn't really earn it, and thats a bummer.

Ecnirp i understand your concerns, and ive said so repeatedly.
I just dont think they apply to all crafters play styles is all.

Is it really that difficult for you to imagine that someone could have a different opinion then you?

Actually, since the +1000 stats carry over, you're effectively using 103.4% resources.

As I said, when you grasp that we want a challenge and that we want to enjoy what we do and that is more important than making credits or having new players equal our products then maybe you will understand why this change is not to the benifit of the WS profession.

Basically what it comes down to is most crafters don't have fun by clicking a dozen times and popping out an item. They have fun by collecting, experimenting, and IMPROVING on those items that they make. The resource buff DUMBS DOWN the process and takes away much of the FUN!!

I guess some people feel crafting is click and drag a few dozen times once a week or something, and I feel sorry for them.

From Corin:
The problem here is not that we will reach damage, sac and speed cap on allour goods with these resources. For that we need loot. The problem is that once we have our 1000 quality resources, there is no further improvement on our base stock. It is end game, we won,we will be on crafter god mode and have nothing new or challengingto look forward to.

-----------------------

Im sorry folks but if a 10% resource buff brings you to this point then you were dangerously close already.
Despite what you folks may think, i do understand your concerns. Im just not kidding myself that this is going to destroy crafting. I think the devs realized that some folks would flinch at these buffs, but many many more would enjoy them. And thats the bottom line really, we are playing this game to have fun.

Yes this is a game and we are here to have fun, but the point you may be missiong is that you are advocating for a change that will eliminate the fun aspect for a large number of crafters and you seem to have no problem with that because you think all us crafter are "Credit Barrons" just looking to make a buck. I just ask that you to look at it like this, yes it will help new crafters gett better products made but those of us that have been hoarding for a long time will have perfect stats on our products and still have better products than a new player. So how can this be about us wanting more credits if we can still charge the same for our stuff because it will be 10% better than before and a new player will still have the same marginal differance in their products compaired to ours?

We are upset beause by not having perfect products just handed to us in a patch there is always room for improvement and a chance to better our products and have fun doing it. What is there left to strive for if we already can make 100% experimented products anytime we wish?

I know i keep comming back to the money issue but that is becase i just get pissed when everyone thinks that "Oh, you are an elite crafter you must be a creditmonger that charges too much". Sure this is ture for a number of crafters but that does not mean we all are. Hell i give away more weapons to my guild then ai actually sell. As for the ones i do sell i sell at prices lower than most of the other crafters on my server, just because i like the thought that something i made is being used to help anotehr enjoy this game a bit more than they were before. I actually make more credits on selling loot then i have ever done in crafting, and that is not effected by this so my money maker is set, i just enjoy crafting and i do not want to see it become a blind process that i just through nearly anything into the slots and getting the highest stats with little effort.

Why are there people that are so dead set on getting content for one profession that takes away from another? Sure entertainers have not been getting much love and now they finnaly are but that does not mean it should be to the extent that it will lessen the game play of another to do so.

Sure 10% might not sound like much but when ALL of your resources are within 1% to 3% of the caps this makes ALL stocks esentually perfect, and will increase the prices of resources that are within 10% of the resource caps because a resource broker will see it as: "well they can make better stuff with this so i can charge them more and not worry about it" which will still make it dificuly for new crafters to get into the high end crafting.

Calm down guys.

Esharra, the Dancer correspondent, just reported that the buff has been reduced to 1-2% (depending on whether it's elite or base prof you are talking about). So you can all stop foaming at the mouth now, and burning the devs in effigee.

SW corr posted the same thing.

I'd be totally down with SW's getting 10% buffs, but WS's getting 'em is crazy stupid. AND I've been a shipwright for 2x's as long as WS.... Isn't that veeird?

Well there ya go. the devs have nerfed the resource buff into extinction. Im sure that will please the folks posting here. From useful to near-useless in one fell swoop. +10%-20% to +1%-2%...now thats funny. Ah well, the devs made an effort at least. I'll still give them a /deepbow for trying.

/flame you are not much of a crafter.. if you were you would understand.

The same people/crafters will make most of the money because they are willing to put in hard work and stay stocked and friendly.

Even a lot of the entertainers thought it needed adjusting. A lot of new players didn't agree with it. Every WS I have spoken to (new and established) in game and on the forums didn't like it. Most of the AS community didn't like it.

If they did something like this then they should have consulted the Crafting Professions first to gauge feedback. Maybe some of the professions didn't mind it, like the SW for example if they are happy for it then fine give the SW 10%- but if pretty much a whole crafting community is against it like the WS, why would you want it pushed onto them?

2% still makes afair amountof my resources now 100% - so I will never really need to survey for them, hunt vendors for them, trade resources with another crafter for them etc etc - all of those things are part of my profession that I enjoy and that makes it interesting for me and part of it has been taken away even with 2%... 10% would have totally taken that away.

I repeat what I have said and what you keep proving by your comments - you don't have a clue where certainprofessions are coming from with this. If you do have any knowledge of any crafting profession you seem to think you can use that knowledge to judge every crafting profession and they are all different.

I have been reading a number of disgruntled crafters complaining about trhe resource buff on test center, and i have to say it disgusts me. the resource buff is a great thing to give the ents and the 'only' crafters that wont like it are the evil credit barons that feel that it will make them loose their "edge". it's only 10% for cripes sake. if a 10% resource buff shatters your economic grip you have on your server then it was an extremely fragile position you had anyways.

My hats off to the devs on this one. these crafter buffs are a fantastic addition to the game.

I have to agree with you on this i am a carfter and I have no trouble with the buffs I welcome them I make a tone of money with my craft and am one of the lowerpriced crafters out there. I do not see theis being any diffrent the newbies willstill have to go through all the trial and error after all even the best stuff doesnt mean you know what you are doing.

soYAY devs finaly something for us with the bad quality of stuff lately I am not sure why there are so many against this except for those who are in it just for the money and not to help

Ecnirp, im really sorry that you take this all so personally. But i feel i must repeat myself yet again because you seem to be incapable of understanding even the simplest of posts. *focus here*...I understand the concerns you and others had with this, i just dont agree. there is a difference. its okay for people to have different opinions. And for the record my main crafting toons are shipwright and chef, the 2 profs that could of used the resource buff the most, and i realize that probably gives me a skewed perspective on this issue. But it doesnt change my opinion on the matter.

Regardless tho. its a dead issue, and I'll still enjoy the game either way.
