Answering for my wife:
1) She dropped a player cantina the first day it was possible, in a remote part of Dantooine. Nearest entertainers were often 20-30 minutes away.
2) It is her primary account... she started it on release day, and she still plays it.
3)Master Dancer (+120 mind enhancement), Master Musician (+113 mind enhancement), and some merchant.
4)Skill tapes purchased individually thru SOE trade forums, gifts from guildies and neighbors (as a guild, we share a lot), some bought at discount from guildies, etc.
5)Mastered Dancer back in the old days, the hard way. Did some afk performing in remote npc cities. Took months. After initial buffbot macro was written, she mastered musician in theed cantina in a week... afk grouped with other afk'ers, though she never spammed anything and she danced off in one of the side rooms to avoid cluttering the main room. No harm, no foul.
6)Alternating 3:10 buffs, full cycle is between 7 and 8 minutes.
7)averages about 100K a day, plus vendor sales.
8)Her player-owned cantina on Dantooine, 3km from nearest starport.
9)Very early, server reboot. (though hardware issues cause the occaisional crash, and sometimes we log on late)
10)She only recently started a new char... going MBH i think
11)no, she will not play her BH when her entertainer is on, but I do play MY char while her performer is on.
12)She has nothing but the cantina, and the rest are all houses to hold her riches
13)She plays it maybe every other day due to RL time constraints.
14)She might play for 1-6 hours... you never know.
15)Seriously, she receives nothing but gushing praise and adoration.
16)I don't know what she'd do if afk macroing were disallowed. Her entire vision of this character would be ruined. The performing, the decorating, the vendors, etc are all tied to together. When she's live, she's not dancing, she's stocking vendors and decorating and chatting. The dancing is the afk part of her character, and what allows the rest of her game play to exist. She's very proud of her cantina, but it would be worthless if it was not staffed and therefore no one ever saw it.
17)Probably not.
18)There are different ways to play a profession. Some merchants bark in the cities, some stock vendors, some make long term business contracts. Some doctors craft, some docs only buy, some prefer healing or buffing in cities, some prefer the battlefield. Some entertainers prefer chatting in crowded npc cantinas, some entertainers prefer running their own cantina in a quiet part of the galaxy. Her customers would not have shuttled to coronet anyways. No customers have been stolen. To reiterate, her char is not a "mule." It is her primary character, and she plays it as such, and her guildies know she has a strong personality, and love to chat with her when she logs on... she's an officer in the city's guild and a militia member, and is active in our guild's message board forum, and has decorated many city buildings and player homes. Just because she uses an afk macro does not make her less of a character, or somehow less of a "real player," and taking steps to deliberately ruin her fun is not cool, and will only bring you bad karma

1) Could never find an available musician for buffs when I wanted one
2) Yes, this is my original account that I maintain
3) Master Musician, Master Artisan, working on Master Merchant. no enhancements.
4) N/A
5) Assorted player city cantinas, and ultimately Coronet cantina for the last push of healing xp. Took 2 weeks or so
6) buffs take 10 minutes or so
7) I make very little money as a musician. Most of my money comes from selling medicine
8) In either of the player cities my 2 characters are members of
9) I log this character in before work in the morning, and leave him afk until my comp crashes or the server restarts
10) No, there is another...
11) Yes, I use 2 computers, and often have the combat character buffed by the musician
12) Harvesters. I sell resources in addition to medical supplies
13) Almost daily
14) Anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours depending on what needs to be done with surveying etc
15) No, not really. Hardly anyone goes into player cantinas anyway
16) Yes
17) Doubtful. The benefits would be dramatically lowered, and I'd probably pick up a crafting profession
18) If the Jedi system revamp really ends the need to grind professions, I think the overwelming numbers of afk entertainers in the major cantinas will be lessened
