If the current system doesn't satisfy you, what would be better?

I'm starting rifleman so I will be interested in getting mind buffs too. What is the appropriate tip price for these buffs (assuming the entertainer did not state a price)?

Pasey's Power N' Resources - Radioactive & Grind Resources 2 cr per unit

Pasey - Master Doctor / TKA

In my opininon, anything under 1k would be insulting to her. I say, 1-5k, depending on how she makes you feel. You'll find the best entertainers can say such funny and interesting things, the time flies by quicker.

I am a BE and would like to increase my mind. I currently have it set to 1000. Is there such a thing as a mind buff? If there is, who should i ask for one from, and how sould I ask for one? How much should one cost?

I understand the the command to give i mind buff is /setpeform.

Can anyone with novice entertainer give a mind buff, or do you need novice dancer? Do you need Master dancer?

How do you know you are giving a buff?

If you run out of action, does this cancel the buff?

Can anyone with novice entertainer give a mind buff, or do you need novice dancer? Do you need Master dancer? You must have at least novice of Dancer or Musician. You can figure the power of your buff based on your mind enhancement. For example, a novice musician has +10 Musical mind enhancement and therefore canadd 10% to the buffee's secondary mind stats.

How do you know you are giving a buff? Currently there is no graphical way to tell if you are giving a buff, however you can see that you'll be getting 6-8 points of healing experience per tic while you're giving the buff.

If you run out of action, does this cancel the buff? To my knowledge this is unconfirmed...if you get healed up right away, chances are the buff will work, but if you stop for too long, it will not.

If you have any more questions or need further clarification on buffing, both the Music forums and the Dancing forums have great faq's on buffing.

See above post =)

How do you know you are giving a buff? You don't know, unfortunately. And once you hit your healing experience cap as a Master Dancer or Musician, you don't even know if you're healing anyone or not

If you run out of action, does this cancel the buff? No, it doesn't cancel the buff at all. You can actually start dancing, /setperform, stop dancing, heal yourself (if you can), start dancing and it won't interrupt the buff. It *will* affect buff time though so you may want to play/dance longer if you stop anytime during a buff.

Sorry about double posting but I dont know how to edit me post.

I have read that their are 2 different types of buffing one done by master muscian and one by dancer. what I now want to know is what is the most common buff? If I got master dancer instead of muscian (i can only master one) will I be able to Buff the mind better then using brandy?

Dancers buff the Mind stat, while musicians buff the Focus and Willpower secondaries. It seems that the dancer buffs are a bit more common, although many, many people look for both.

Whether or not entertainer buffs are better than brandy I think depends on:

a.) the Mind Enhancement skill of the performer,
b.) the existing Mind, Focus and Willpower stats on the receiver of the buff, and
c.) the quality of the brandy.

Of course, taking a swig of brandy is nowhere near as fun as getting a buff from a good, professional live entertainer...

To answer your first question, you can start giving buffs once you reach novice dancer or musician, although the buffs will be for a very small amount at novice (10%). Buff amounts increase with your Mind Enhancement skill, gained in the Techniques lines. Look at your Mind Enhancement skill, and use that as a percentage of the recipient's stats that will be added as a result of the buff.

Well... I can do both And most people really want
both buffs.

But:
For PvE the musician focus/will buff may be better, with fewer
costs for specials and a much faster recovery rate.
For PvP the dancer mind buff may be more in request, because
it actually doubles the damage you can take in mind.

Of course you can add brandy on top of this

Chilastra: Nikita --- Master Entertainer, Master Musician, Master Dancer

Either 4/0/0/0 Dancer or Musician will buff 75% mind, for a full 100% increase you must master for the last 25 points

Dancer = Mind

Musician= Focus

Willpower
