They either broke the display message, or broke how it was awarded. Either way I don't think it was intentional.

It *does* make me think the devs are utter incompetents now. I mean... this is just silly. Do they even TEST any of the changes they make internally? Clearly not... so much for having a QA team.

I think this is just the message.

There was a bug on TC yesterday where you would gain XP normally, but the messages were code, unless you had an inspiration buff, then the part of the XP which was bonus would show up as 0. Please test, but this was in the bug thread on TC.

I think it's just the system messages which are wrong.

Couple things.

One, it's not intentional. Which has happened before and it will happen again.

Two, I hate covercharge. I hate the idea behind covercharge. And it's true: as long as there are free AFKtainers around, covercharge is useless.

Three, if by some freak of nature this IS intentional, it's a sad day for us. Return of the buffbots (A). And return of the customeres who think it's their right to a have a buff and therefore treat us like dirt (B).

This better be an error.

Thanks

Turns out it's probably just a display issue. I just hope we don't end up back where we started once things are wrapped up with us.

Thank the Maker. And Esharra

It's unfortunate to see more new bugs get into the game, I hope there's actually an effort to increase the quality of the publishes.

Ha, what's the point? When there are four or five AFK dancers who a) don't use /covercharge and b) would never know if you didn't tip them, why would anyone bother tipping or watching an ATK dancer? I'm not necessarily angry at the combat profs for this - I know from personal experience that a combat prof is one of the hardest to make money in starting out - but I don't like that buff bots ruin the experience for the rest of us.

/agree

I was in space with some instpiration today. The messages I got when I destroyed a ship where silly "you get a 3604%" bonus. The XP output was quite normal though. Most likely only the message is borked.

OUCHIE!!!!!

Man never has a compliment ever met so much snipage I do appreciate the sentiment of your post Everitt, hell, I wished that everyone tookanything and everything to make us (that is entertainers) part of their lives. But (there's always a but though, eh?) those of us who take pride in our profession do so because we don't get greedy for tips. We allshouldtrymake ourselves available for all players, regardless of financial status, because that is the only way we sustain our audiences. The larger our audience, the more play and more fun we have

Simply a bugged message script folks..nothing more than that.

Without Inspiration and killing mutant baz nitch. Skill window shows an xp gain of 928 points.

In spatial it says:

"You have earned Jedi experience."

No amount stated..that's verbatim.

With Inspiration, same baz nitch mission. Skill window shows gain of 1021.

In spatial it says:

"You earn 93 experience. (+1021 % inspiration bonus)"

So yes..the skill window is showing the correct amount, whether Inspired or not. The message in spatial documenting the xp gain is incorrect.

Or as Tiggs stated in the Announcements:

"Hello Folks,

We are investigating issues with today’s publish where some of the fixes are not working as intended. Once we have more information regarding this problem we will post here."

Just use your favorite bot who's free, and leave us alone.

We can do nothing about xp changes, and trust me - I'm not any happier than you are that Inspiration buffs will be required. It will create, once again, a nightmarish AFK zombie fest of bots who spam incessantly, and who most every combat player adores and loves, until they create one of their own.

God help us all.

To the original poster, while we appreciate the thought and the well-wishing intended by your post, the ugly fact is that even if this isn't a bug (which it certainly is in some way), it would not really benefit the entertainer community much since many people would just go back to their bots just as they did during the mind buff days. In fact it would just make things worse for us since people would resent us even more than they did before because seeing an ent. would be required for them to enjoy their game and get the XP that they deserve. As an ent. I would even be inclined to agree that they shouldn't have to get an insp. buff to get those kind of XP amounts.

In short, I'm sure that this is some kind of bug as we well know that the devs don't want us to be that involved in the combat game anyway. I would check to see if the bug is either in the system display by checking your actual XP totals vs what the messages say, or if the bug really is in the XP granting itself, then it's a larger and more serious bug that needs to be addressed right away.
