Thread: Entertainer 'Gigs' FAQ
This is so cool - I'll try it tonight - didn't even know about gigs - don't think any of the ent's in my backwater town know about them either - will really help the credit situation for all.
Thank you so much ![]()
The guy give me a Gig mission on another city for like $500+ credits, so I went.
The co-ordinate is rightoutside of a Cantina, but the mission did NOT specify outside or Inside the Cantina, but I did both for like several minutes with no reward.
To my understanding, is a gig mission you perform to NPCs(Not blue-colored players) right?
There wasn't even more than1-2 NPC in this location, none of them are near each other, they are standing a bit away from each otherso I performed in front of each NPC there for 2-3 minutes, no reward. ![]()
There was nobody there except those NPCs just stand there not clapping or anything when I perform ![]()
7. How long till I get paid?
How long it takes depends on how fast you gain your XP. So you just can't hit the dance button and walk away. Use them flourishes.. that's what they're for.
Maybe I should perform LONGER?
Ok. I like to know how much XP is needed to get the mission completed?
Good question.. If I were to tell you that I'd pay you a million bucks to do something. Would you ask how long you had to do it? JUST DO IT!!! You get paid when you get paid. Plain and simple. Stop trying to rush your way through and have fun w/ the game.
If you're too much ina hurry to finish gigs or level an entertainer...
YOU ARE NOT READY TO BE AN ENTERTAINER!!!!
Not trying to flame.. just being straight and honest
Wes
Yep, you guys are correct! ![]()
I went INside the Cantina, and got my Reward!
BECAREFUL if you are on a Mission, do NOT join the band! otherwise, the mission credit will be autosplit!
On the maps...most of the time the Theatres are listed as "Guild Hall". Obviously there are a couple of Guild Halls in the each zone (i currently reside in Coronet-Corellia). It may take a little looking around, but you will find them. In coronet, the NPC is next to the trainer for Novice Musician.
As for completing the Gig...just go inside, stand on the stage...play and flourish. You will get a message in your chat window that the credits were deposisited into your bank account after you earn a certain number of Xp. Obviousy higher level characters won't take as long. I am a still working on Novice Musician, and it took me about 5 minutes to complete the gig. No one watches you, or even makes any reference to you. You just go there and play. There is no interaction with anyone at the gig site.
Good luck.

And now for your SWG pleasure, I bring you the little known, little advertised, little used "/find" function. Type this command with nothing after it, and you'll get a dialog box listing all the special building that find can point you to. Select "Guild Hall:Theater". This will make a waypoint to the closest theater, and if you're outside even make a nifty yellow path you can follow. The building will look like a rectangle with two little "horns" coming out one of the short sides. This is a big arcing wall that marks the entrance.
I've made a macro that calls "/find Guild Hall:Theater" since I get lost easily between gigs. I'm sure there have been a few PCs (and NPCs for all I know) wondering why the bothan was running around the streets singing "Follow the yellow brick road", since no one else can see your little path.
The only thing to watch out for is that the list you see from /find is every buildingthatfunction can point you to, whether or not there is one in the city (or even the planet). If you get a theater waypoint, but following it takes you out of town, it's leading you to another city's theater as "closest", so you can't get gig missions locally.
DiceBlackflame, my guess is that the "Mission complete" statement got lost in the sea of flourish/xp messages in your chat box. I've had that happen quite a bit, especially if I'm also interacting with customers. Gig missions occasionally send you to places that haven't seen an entertainer in days, so there was quite a crowd after a couple of minutes.
What I usually do is leave the waypoint activated, then watch for the orange arrow pointing tothe missionwaypoint to disappear. If I'm feeling really paranoid, I'll jot down my starting cash/bank numbers to make sure the mission gets paid for. I'm on Musician -> Music knowlege 1, and the gig only takes about 5 minutes. I also occasionally take dance missions to the same venue (since I want a mandoviol, gotta build dancer and ID), and even at dance 2 it wasn't taking more than 8 or 9 minutes.
One thing not mentioned: Does anyone know if stopping to rest "resets" the mission? As I understand it, the mission is completed after gaining a certain amount of xp (based on you music/dance level). If you don't have the action to do that all in one go, are you forced to group, or have a friend sit there and /tenddamage?
I tried to review the log to see if it said anythin about sucess or failure but I got nothing. I am a Appentice Musician using a traz, and I also for certain did not get the credits. The only thing I can think it being was the rests, but I have no idea. I will try another tonight. I just wish there was a status bar or something like with skills.
Well I will give it another go tonight
First attempt at a gig mission
Was in Dearic (Talus) and got a mission in Naulus (Talus) for 422 credits (funny part was travel cost me 420, but hey i wanted to try one).
So I go to Naulus, go to the way point, I read the FAQ so I went in and found the stage. I preformed for well over 30 minutes (though I did sit to rest 3 times) and no reward. Then I went to my data pad and the mission was gone. Confused I ran out fo the hotel to check the waypoint and nope, not there. Mission deleted itself and I was not rewarded. I sent message to customer service but I doubt it'll help much. I came home after doing a fwe easy delivery mission in town to cover some costs.
Any idea what happened?
