Thread: Entertainer 'Gigs' FAQ
1. What are "gigs"?
Gigs are paying jobs specifically for entertainers..
2. How do i get a "gig"?
The best place to get a gig is in the Theatre Guild Hall.... Use your map (Ctrl-V) to find where it's located on your planet.Backstage are 2 nobles, one for dancers, one for musicians. Find which one has the job for you and accept the mission (gig)
3. How much do "gigs" pay?
I haven't checked on other planets, but "gigs" on Tatooine pay between 400 - 600 credits a pop. Subtract the cost for travel shuttle (unless you walk) so profit should range around 200 - 400 credits. (Better than getting tipped 100 creds after 2 hours of dancing.
4. Do "gigs" give dancing/musicianship XP?
No. The reason being is that you're already getting XP for dancing/playing.
5. I'm at the waypoint. It's right outside the door. Do i start playing here?
The waypoint leads you to the building you need to preform in. Waypoints will not show up inside buildings, so you must enter the building and find the proper place to preform. (AKA Hotels have stages, Lucky Despot has a stage, etc.)
6. Ok, i'm at the place and I'm dancing..... Where's my reward?
Hold on bucko, if you go to your 50 Cent concert, do they hand him the money after he sings the first line? You've got to ACTUALLY PREFORM. It'll be a bit.
7. How long till I get paid?
How long it takes depends on how fast you gain your XP. So you just can't hit the dance button and walk away. Use them flourishes.. that's what they're for.
Hope this helps.

Do you HAVE to go to the stage to do the mission or can it be anywhere inside the hotel?
Reason being is that it sucks to be a musician who lives in the hotel only to have some hot dancer come in and occupy the same stage and refuse to group (with good reason) because of the gig mission. (The place I perform in constantly is also a gig mission hotspot.)
FINALLY!!! I get an answer in how to excecute these missions. I to was dancing outside with the droids!! Thank you Thank you!!!
Clarification: You do NOT need to be on the stage to complete the Gig Mission! I successfully completed one by performing in the back room of the Hotel, so I would not interrupt the group performing on the main stage of the Hotel. This is preferable if you are not willing to group - so many times I'll have someone come in and dance right in front of me on the stage of my hotel and refuse to group because of a GIg Mission, and consequently, the people who came in watched her instead of me, stealing customers away.
So, if you refuse to group with the existing group in a hotel you have a Gig Mission at, the nicest thing to do is to complete it in a back room - as long as you are inside the building (CTRL-M shows the floorplan instead of the city) then you can complete the mission.
Thank you so much for posting this. I took my first "gig" last night and I was confused about the waypoint thing too. I somehow had this idea that I was supposed to be performing for an NPC, rather than just at a location.
I was able to get credit for performing in the back room of the cantina -- good thing because I didn't want to disrupt the performers on the main floor. ![]()
Good FAQ. More entertainers need to learn about gigs. I've been doing my best to edumacate the entertainers at Club Dearic on Bria about them.
Strategy-wise, you can save yourself a lot of time and money if you're choosy about your missions.
First off, DON'T take missions that are out of town! If you have to take the shuttle, then just click 'abort mission' and get a new one. Why pay for a shuttle ride when the local hotel and cantina need performers?
Secondly, try to get a dance gig and a music gig at the same venue. This isn't always possible in a reasonable amount of time. If you don't get a common venue in the first four or five missions, then settle for running across town between gigs.
Finally, my experience is that music gigs take half the time that dance gigs do. If your theater is locted close to the hotel and cantina, then it might be worth your while to do just music missions.
Be sure to stop and smell the roses, though. Entertainers are a community. Be polite. Spend some time grouping with your local entertainers rather than soloing gigs all day long. Note the complaints above and don't horn in on an established group's area. If there's a group playing at your venue, go off to the side. You're there for mission cash, not tips. Be courteous rather than greedy, and let people know that you're there on a gig so they don't think you're being anti-social when you reject their group invites.
