Join Kettemoor is all I can say. Never met a high level musician who wouldn't APOLOGIZE for playing a song that I didn't know, then stop and start playing something everyone could play. If the high level musicians want to give you that attitude, then they should be the ones who play solo, not the novice.

I'm not sure who the goof balls are that don't gain normal xp.... Oh wait yes I do.

The afk and no flourish musicians are the ones who don't get the xp...

I have made as much 72 xp per 10 sec award while playind starwars1. Tell the idiots to flourish more, all you need to do is flourish twice between each 10 sec xp award. Its not that hard, experienced players, please teach the novices this fact. Not only will they gain xp faster so you can get of the incesant starwars1 song but it will also sound better while you wait to get there.

Entertainer/Musician is not that hard to master if you just try.

Hrmmm....Ok NOW my numbers are in line with what you are all saying.....Alow me to Retract my Objection about Playing the Lowest song

Ok not sure what happened since i made the post...But now things are Fine the way they are

I never minded playing the Lower songs, just the "Loss" of Exp became an issue to alot of the people i Grouped with. So at that time i tested it, and my results lead me to believe the Lower songs were not Giving a fair amount of EXP...Now my Speculation is one of two things happened :

1* I messed up the test Somehow....entierly possible...i won'tbelieve it, but it could have happened.

2* I was Somhow Bugged at the time...Ya never know

Another possibility is that, since you get the XP of either your instrument or the song, whichever is higher, you were accidentally playing with a low level instrument. If you play Folk with a slither, you'll still get lots of XP, but if you play SW1 with a slither, your XP will drop considerable. However, if you play Folk with a Fanfar, and then you play SW1 with a Fanfar, your XP will stay the same.

Everyone I play with plays a song that everyone can play. You help your community, your fellow entertainers, and you have fun. Getting XP is not the "be all and end all" of this game, in my opinion. Playing together, getting the crowdhopping, timing your flourishes, making friends are the things that make the entertainer experience a rewardingone. I mean you have some valid points if you are looking to zoom to the top of the profession but I personally am fine with things the way they are.

I learned the weirdest thing last night:

When you're playing a Mandoviol, SW1 is actually kind of cool. And the outro you get when you /stopmusic has to be the nicest guitar riff in the game (at least so far, I'm only up to Ballad).

Another thing I've noticed for people getting bad xp on lower songs is that /changemusic (or /changeband) seems to occasionally ignore your instrument type. So if you're playing along with Folk or SW3, a novice joins you, and you /changemusic to SW1 so he/she can join in; you see an xp drop. But if you /stopmusic, then /stratmusic StarWars1, your xp is at the proper level. This isn't something that happens all the time, but might explain why some people are seeing low xp with their Kloo horns.

I've had this problem too, in sorts.

I LOVE entertaining. Its my second line. Problem is that I play the SW1 and Rock song so much that my better half is about to beat the living crap out of me if she hears it over my speakers again.

I've tried just playing without sound but it ruins the game. I can honestly say I'm tired of those two songs too. I have only heard Folk and SW2 after that, which I really like.

Anyway, I generally disband. I worry so much about insulting the other people around, and I'm not there for the XP, or anything. I'm just there to play and have fun. Its really frustrating, but I'm glad I never heard that obnoxious flurry of noises you describe when a band plays a myriad of songs at the same time.

I think people are going to be new for a long time!

If you can play a higher song, you need to play the one lowerst member can play right to be helpful...

However, if you always help out Lower member, it might give you a headache because the same song (starwars1) plays over and over in your head!

Really, this is a tough tough topic.

Sometimes you just have to cut them out...and ask them to form their own group.

I think people are going to be new for a long time! (Or in better words, you will Always encounter Newbies)

What do you do?

If you can play a higher song, you need to play the one lowerst member can play right to be helpful...

However, if you always help out Lower member, it might give you a headache because the same song (starwars1) plays over and over in your head!

Really, this is a tough tough decision.

It can be selfish both ways.

So, the best approach I feel is ask majority of band member if they like to switch, not sure it's right/

Say, you have6 musicians if4 of them doesn't want to change to starwars1, then tell the newbie "Sorry, a vote is we don't want to change"

Sometimes you just have to cut them out...and ask them to form their own group.

Surely it works as intended. If XP is your concern, think about it with only two people...

If you play SW1 with a newbie and your best instrument you will get more XP than playing Celestial and your best instrument equipped because there is a group bonus.

If you are concerned with hearing SW1 too much...well, that's tougher. Either go to the options and turn down the player music, or you'll have to be the one playing solo a lot.

When it comes to songs, I don't care about exp, because it's nearly the same exp regardless what song you are playing.

Quote: "You help your community, your fellow entertainers, and you have fun."

Well, I am willing to help my community, sure. But FUN hearing SW1 with wawawa slitherhorn sounds for 5 hrs per day, maybe intererrupted by rock (which is even worse imo)? Definately no fun. It's a reason to turn of speakers, go semi afk and hit the macro button from time to time. I only have fun when I can play songs that I didn't hear for 28 hrs total. Anything above Rock is still nice to hear.

And I don't consider the occasional Master Sniper, Creature Handler or Scout as fellow musician. They started out with another profession while the true entertainers worked on music/dance from day 1, so to me this guys aren't fellow entertainers by heart and soul. They should start over like we did and play in noob groups imo.
