Granted, we won't have hologrinders soon. What we WILL have, with recursive macros, are the people who will run theirchar overnight, at work, on vacation, grinding the oh so valuable experience to trade in for FS experience.

It's not all about Entertainers, though we are the ones hit hardest when a buffbot is set up in our limited places of business. It's not like we can set up a shop anywhere in the galaxy, register on the map, and have folks search us out. It's supposed to be, but it isn't.

But this is also about the AFK CH out in a spawn spot, with a /cycle target outward; /tellpet attack macro. This is about the AFK fighter, standing in a newbie thug spawn point pharming experience the same way. This is about people being too lazy to work for what they want, in the way it was intended.

With surplus experience becoming MUCH more valuable in the FS quests, I have no problem hitting a few extra buttons to help ensure people actually have to work for the end result.

If people grinding professions while afk using the cycle target command or whatever just remove that command. Like moch said, stop people from afk looting by getting read of the /loot command. I really dont see how people grinding professions is a problem, it never has been before. If the arguement is that people can cash in that afk xp for jedi xp or whatever then that isa problem in and of itself and should be addressed. The devs have never said that afk play was not allowed, people that pay $15 a month can do whatever they want (thoough i have no idea why they would play a game and not actually play it but thats not my problem).

I just dont see why all recursive macros have to be put in the same category. Macros that do nothing more than cycle different dresses for a visual effect (or keep me online when i have to go afk in my house for whatever reason, it takes me SO long to connect the first time) are simply not a problem. Me running a macro that lets me flourish and do pretty effects while i yack to people isnt a big deal either.

Hologrind is almost over, we'll have our cantinas back. Certain commands can be taken out to handle different afk situations. We all have to remember one thing in the end, the AFK entertainers (non-hologrinders) were created to facilitate a need, real or imagined. I've read quite a few posts from people who say it was too hard to find entertainers so they just made their own. They need to fix registration so that it works, that way people can find us no matter where we are.

Doesnt anyone else agree that waiting to see what the death of the hologrind does is the first step to take?

while I understand that killing recursive macros serves our interests in stopping afk entertaining, how in the world am I supposed to interact at any decent rate if I have to activate my flourish macros constantly??? I PLAY my character, and trying to converse/interact with someone will have a whole new level of challenge besides just coming up with my next flirty statement....is this one of those lesser of two evils kind of thing?

It's EXACTLY a lesser of two evils thing. Don't think the devs haven't put at least SOME time and thought into this. There are a lot of ideas out there, but this has the most effect on unattended gameplay, across the most professions, with the least impact on live players, with the least amount of effort on their part.

And, hitting your flourish macro every 5-10 mins is hardly what I would consider 'constantly'.

I seriously hope you will be able to keep your dress changing macro; it's a brilliant idea and works very well.

There will be ways around it I'm sure. Especially based on the quality coding I see manifested daily in the game . I'm afraid AFK everything isn't leaving and we will discover the work arounds. I have a couple ideas but won't discuss them till we see if this even happens.
