I don't understand the discrepancy between entertainer professions. Dancers and Musicians have a hard time getting tips when they perform a valuable and necessary service. However, as an image designer I rarely get stiffed (anymore). I usually get 10k per session. I don't know where that figure came from, but 4 out of 5 tip that exact amount. This makes little sense because my services are purely aesthetic and affect only roleplay, but not power-gamer play. No resources are used.
So I have to believe that the reason dancers and musicians get stiffed must be from the following factors
- patrons feel ok sneaking out if they don't get individual attention (and indeed they don't need it)
- dancers and musicians don't have a choice about whether to heal - they don't have to actively do anything to provide service
- and, of course, the dreaded afk, which leads to people feeling entitled to services, for free, at any time, day or night
This discrepancy must be because of afks and a lack of an affirmative action to heal- because the "you don't use resources" argument holds no water. And, let's face it, ID is (now) easy to level. So why the tip difference? Perhaps the rarity of ID's - if they insult me, they won't find anyone else. But more likely, it's the inherent problems with the dancer/musician professions, that we've been talking about ad nauseum on these forums.
