Thread: sell your body?
Beery wrote:"And yes, I have a pet peeve of 90% of ents wearing leotards and fleshwraps and usually try to convince them to wear something decent/modest..."I just don't understand this at all. Firstly, this is Star Wars, and the clothes are based on costumes from the movies. Secondly, even if the characters were nude - which they're not - nudity is not wrong. Thirdly, these aren't even real people: they are computer models more akin to cartoons than real people.
Well one thing that annoys me in this regard is that all the entertainment seems to be targeted to the 'lowest common denominator.'
Most people playing music as if they don't care how it sounds and dancing that is erotic and whatnot. I don't have anything against 'pretend nudity,' but it is so common that it makes you think - are most of the people who are watching 15-year old kids who get jollies off of seeing a half-nude Twi'lek? No one ever seems to wear any sort of formal wear and dance ballet or anything like that.
But then again, I bet it just reflets upon society, in general - there's alot more strip clubs than ballet companies.

Eh, I dunno. I think too much of a big deal is made against those who choose to dance skimpily. I mean, I made both Drygo and C'erulean to be specifically sexy male dancers, and about 50% of the time they're going shirtless. One of my favorite things to dance in is no top, and a skirt of some sort. That's what I wanted them to be. I do not reflect every male dancer, or female for that matter. That's just what I wanted to do because I think it's a fun role to play. You wouldn't catch me dead in real life doing something like that.
And, this is a game where we can go take on whatever kind of persona we want to take on. It's part of the reason that I don't get offended when someone is *truly* roleplaying a lascivious type of person getting off on the dancers. Or, for that matter, when someone roleplays a nasty character...and by nasty I don't mean sexually nasty, but just a low down dirty scoundral a hole. I think it adds to the universe. I pretty much am of the mindset that anything goes, so long as you're not taking it out of character and insulting the human behind the avatar. Drygo and C'erulean both enjoy dealing with these types of people in their own ways.
And, to also use an example of real life...dancers, including those who are not erotic dancers, are damn sexy. It doesn't even matter what they're wearing, but I find dancing to be a very sensual thing. It's only natural that people would want to roleplay this type of behavior in a game.
As for formal wear, there's definitely a place for that as well. For example, I've dressed in formal wear for many of my wedding gigs. I'll admit tho, that the fact that lyrical and formal base dances don't look right, is the reason you don't see me in formal too much in the Cantinas. But, when I levelled up, I'd usually try to put on something formal when I was doing those dances. C'erulean wore a tuxedo when he was doing his lyrical. It just seemed to fit. Similarly, it fits for both C'erulean and Drygo to be going topless while doing exotics. Because they're dead sexy. ![]()
Now I understand a Doctor has to spend all that money to get the buffs but if it werent for buffs we wouldn't make any money anyway, not that we do now with buffbots etc....
I guess they just expect me to pull credits out of my arse! The only way a Musician or entertainer has anyway of making money is taking up a combat profession.
Its sad but without us who would heal their BF and mind wounds we should go on strike but no one ever does, watch if we ever did really go through with it the Servers would be in chaos!!!
We are the most underappreaciated Professions in the game!!! its like we're 4th class citizens!!! thats how low we are!!!
