Thank you NewJedi. I am glad we have people like you working for us. I may not always see eye to eye with you on the means to the ends, but when it comes down to it, I'm glad you're there.

Just wanted to add my agreement to the list...

And my hope that someday "Thunderheart" will get his ass in-gear...
hire some interns...
and assign them all to different areas of the boards... so that wa all
have an
EQUAL AND JUST REPRESENTATION WITH THE DEV'S...
Just because the damned Teras Kasi and Bounty Hunters (ETC.) are the
most prevalent in the game... does not mean that they should be the
only people represented to the DEV's... or that their professions are
more important.

Yeah, I would like to see red names post in our forums a bit more often.

The devs have replied to my "low morale" thread in the Correspondent Forum, so at least I have their attention. I've given them a list of suggestions for adding content, drawn from posts I've read in the entertainer forums -- e.g., epic quests, entertainer-oriented Theme Parks or POIs, more interesting gig missions, gambling in player cantinas, etc. I've also encouraged the devs to post something about future plans for our professions, perhaps in the Concept forum.

i think you really nailed it tiaga. what happens when there's no reason to play an entertainer is, you see a lot less entertainers around. a lot less real ones anyways. the sad thing is, it seems like more and more players on my server are getting alt characters that are doc/dancer, just to buff them, because they can't find any masters when or where they need to. there just aren't enough of us.

now, while i don't particularly like people making alts that steal my job, i can sympathize with their situation. its not my place to tell them how to play the game, either. i just think its a sad state of affairs, that seems to continue spiralling downwards.

honestly, maybe the problem is how often these guys need to look for us. we're talking thousands and thousands of combat types who all wanna get buffed once every two hours. there's no way we're gonna be able to meet that demand, especially given our decreasing numbers. no wonder everyone is going AFK, or has an alt to buff them. i think we'd see a lot less AFKs and alts if these guys only had to visit us once a week or something.

This makes my case, Tiaga. If those are the only two... The FIRST one was just a call for a dancer correspondent on July 10th. The SECOND one was 2 weeks later and just an informational post on what things were in an upcoming patch for dancers. Neither one addressed a single issue dancers had then, and if those are the only two in the dancer forum, then it's been since late July that a developer has responded to (or more likely even looked at) the dancer forum. I'd happily bet Ent and Music and ID all look susbstantially the same (very few if any posts since July of last year).

That's pretty sad, but not entirely surprising. And since I joined 5 days after Q's second and final post to the dancer board, and since that post was probably buried by that time, then my statement stands. I have not ever seen, since joining this forum on July 29th, a single new (rather than old/stickied) red name post on our forum.

I think that tells us exactly what we need to know about how the developers view our profession in terms of importance and priority.

Well there could be more. I just went through the 40-some pages of posts and picked out any red name posts. I didn't dig for replies. Though I suppose I'd only have to check threads that were at least 4 pages.

Excellent points. The "socializer" one has especially sapped my enjoyment of Music and Dancing I get so down when I end up in a group of afk-bots. I've actually stopped playing my Ents over it.

I'd settle for "at all"... never mind "more often."

I don't recall ever seeing a red name in the dancer forum, in 6 months.

Well they have, here and here. (*shudders* remembering the new flourishes...) We were thrown a cookie pretty early on. Too bad it crumbled when we caught it.

Instead of again crying out "Poor us!" you should know that with the exception of Creature Handler, Droid Engineer, and Bio-Engineer, developer posts in the profession forums are few and far between. Dancer has, in fact, more than quite a few, for instance, carbineer or chef or swordsman or fencer.

"Ironically, while researching this piece a representative from Sony asked us to keep in mind that many of the players complaining "weren't playing the class right," and that the class was designed as a solo experience. Such a comment is indicative of the original Ultima Online mistake: not realizing that once an MMO is released to the public, it no longer belongs to the developers, it belongs to the people paying $14.99 a month for the service."

Tiaga, you said something that's just not true:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Lately, unless you want to roleplay a zombie movie, the cantinas have not become a very interesting place.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

I've seen a lot of zombie movies, and they were WAY more active than the cantinas are. Much more interactive, and a lot more bustle...

There is, as they say, the exception that proves the rule. The fact that you'd been invited along doesn't change that in 5 months of playing I never have, and many others never have.

The devs may not appreciate you, but I know I, and many people I associate with, do. I have been known to sit around in cantinas to listen to gossip...when there is someone awke and spreading it. Sure, I get healed by watching/listening to an entertainer once in a while, but I also appreciate your profession for the work you put into it.

/standing ovation to

Thank you very, very much. You are appreciated, even if it doesn't always feel like it.
