Personally I don't feel it's rude if someone doesn't tip, it's just the norm. It's extra nice when they do.

And it's sad for us Entertainers that they nerfed the Baz Nitches Not because I was crawling in the lairs, but because all those injured souls in the Dath cantina were loaded to the teeth in credits. Now the place is going to be empty again

Hi,

I feel for you, I really do, but I just want to give you some advice.

You posted this in the entertaner category. Entertainers already know all of this... So, you really aren't helping anything. And don't get mad, like I said not tipping does suck but you are preaching to the choir, we already know the problem, take the argument to the masses. Try like a general topic or something. Good luck.

Love,

Since I hit Master Dancer I have been traveling to offbeat places to dane. I have noticed that most of these guys who fight out there, have picked up their own music skills and even though I am dancing and can heal 300 BF in 2 minutes, they would rather play themselves. They won't group with me so they probably don't want the XP. Maybe they just want to be independent?

I was going to say the same as Browndandy when i read his post... Complaining about tips in the entertainer board will be only read by entertainers (mainly), who are aware of the problem.

But it's true that people dont tip enough. And i have the impression they tip less and less over weeks...

First off sorry for another tipping post heh. Anyway I noticed a lot of people feel they don't need to tip, however some times its just rude not to. If the person is the only entertainer around, its a good idea to tip them because without them you can't heal. If they heal 800 mind wound damage(I have seen worse than this before!), you should really tip. Some thing to keep in mind is that not everyone needs the xp and some have better things to do, so saying "oh they not losing anything and getting free xp anyway" is just stupid.

Today I was on lok, and I bet I was the only entertainer on the entire planet(only one town and none were there). I came into the cantina to heal my own mind wounds but I stayed an extra 15 minutes to heal everyone elses who came in as well since they seemed stucked and I am such a nice person(one person had full black mind bar, I really felt sorry for him). I was in a rush too, I really did not want to stay but I did, and I don't want anymore dancing xp so it didnt help me any. I didn't really expect anyone to tip since only about 10%-25% of people I have seen tip normally. Its just a nice thing to do when they are the only person on the planet who can heal you and they take the time to do it.

By the way, most people are happy with ANYTHING, can give 20 credits its better than nothing, most people give around 100. Anyone who can't affored 100 credits is either very bad at the game(no offence if your new to using a computer) or lieing. You can shoot a single jawa with the gun you start with and loot off more than 100 credits. By the way same goes for medics healing you, they heal 1400 worth of wounds can give them something.

I've been playing on off-hours where I'm often the only musician, maybe one dancer around. Not that I'm tip-hustling, but I've found if I've got "master entertainer" over my head, holding an instrument, but just sitting down taking a break, people will come up and beg, and pre-tip me to start playing. Try sitting out a bit and see if they stop taking you for granted in those lonesome cantinas.

I have noticed the exact opposite since release.

I'm with Waho.. People are more wealthy now than they have been, so the tipping has been better in general.

WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! No one is tipping me! Help me Sony and make the bad Wookie pay!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously though, I have never read a message board with soooo many people crying over everything! Every profession is "broken", everyone crying "Nerf that guy!" and gimme this new ability. Sheesh!

I do enjoy theentertainer boards because there seems to be less crying than many other profession boards, but this whole tipping business has been gettingon my last nerve today and I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Some things are legitimately broken (like your exotic dances) and i hope they get fixed, but complaining about people being cheap with tips?

Most people in the game are only there to help themselves, get used to it, its the video game mentality. My bank account is bigger than yours and my skillz own urz... The good news is that most of thesevideoheads will drop out of the game within 6 months. The bad news is you can't expect them to roleplay, or even act like a sentient being.

On a side note, I have to wonder what are you going to spendyour tipson, a10k-15k dress? If that were my greatest expenseI wouldgive a great wookie roarof joy (didn't know we had that ability did you?).

I am a riflemen/weaponsmith and I figured out that i need somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million credits to set myself up right (7 large harvesters, house and factory, and some nice weapons). This is not even counting the initial million or so I have burned up getting my small harvesters deployed, a small house and crafting stations (I was a total Noob at launch and ran around spending cash with no good sense). Oh,and iget to spend all my time running in the wilderness, alone, charging-up andretreiving resources and getting attacked by crazed rabbits while you chat it up! So what i can make seventy-five k per day from selling the resources of my cruddy small harvesters, that means i have to sell them and not use them for crafting (which is almost all worthless junk in the beginning and gets trashed). And most of the crafted stuff i can sell goes for less than the resources would if i sold them raw.

I'm rambling here so back to the point, if you don't want to dance, don't do it! I am working my but off and hemorhaging credits like Mike Tyson and so sometimes when I come to the cantina, i am flat broke. But guess what? Sometimes i come back the next day and tip all 29 dancers/musicians 1k each. I love to tip, as it seems to make everyone happy, but sometimes (even though many dancers seem to think we are rolling in dough) I just don't have it...

Anyway, i am very happy with the way 98% of theentertainers have treated me, and I hope you don't feel slighted if i pop into the cantina, and jump back out. I'm offtrying to get my steel from the harvesters surrounded by Razor-Cats so i can craft 1800 rifle barrels to get one more level in Weaponsmith. And then I get to destroy them since no one wants rifle barrels... I love this game! Seriously!

Tipping is a small issue in the overall scheme of things, and i think you will find that the tips increase over time. Try reading some of the other boards (shudders just thinking about the commando board). It really puts things in perspective.

LOL! That's quite well said.

I prefer a good roleplay session and no tip over "d00d sp34k" and a huge tip, myself.

Wow, GnortHunter. How insulting!

I'm not a big complainer about tips because I think the feature works well as it is. Good entertainers get good tips.

I enjoy working in the cantina because I am improving the gaming experience of real people. No dice rolls, no loot, and no experience points; just people. If I couldn't play an entertainer, I would probably quit the game; so in my opinion, your comments about entertainers being "kinda fun" but the "worst profession" and the "least talented profession" are ridiculous if not insulting.

Your statement about how you can always "talk to people, and do flourishes and minor stuff like that" proclaims loudly that you and I see the entertainer profession in radically different ways. Those flourishes and the interaction with people are most decidedly not minor stuff; they are the meat of the class. Creating an environment in the game where roleplayers can come to relax, interact, and have a good time is infinitely more interesting to me than going on Tusken_Raid_0342 while autoinsurance is still on to get that cool loot by spamming your best special.

I can bring someone's battle fatigue from 500 to 0 in just a few minutes, but their typical stay in the cantina is over 20 minutes. That means that for more than 10 minutes, they are being entertained, not healed. Some stay much longer.

If you are a powergamer who sees me and my cantina as just another necessary evil standing in the way of your continued grind, don't tip me. If I'm not doing my job and you aren't entertained, don't tip me if you don't wish to. I don't want your pity cash--you don't owe me anything. Understand this, however. Being an entertainer is far more than AFK macroing and pressing random flourish buttons, and a Master Musician title over your head does not make you an entertainer.

Maybe you should delete your entertainer alt if you believe it is the worst profession in the game, as you obviously do not enjoy playing it. I doubt you would miss that character, and I doubt anyone else would either.

Sorry man, but is is the easiest profession in the game. Ok, tell me this than, whats one harder?

You arerequired to stand in one room, am I wrong?

Please!!! I'm actually being entertained!?! Man, I'm there to heal my battle fatigue so I can go blast something again. I'm being entertained? As infor real entertained? You might want think about that, cause I'm giving you the chance to take it back.

Like I said before, entertainer can be 'kinda fun'. Some of the flourishes look cool and it can be funinteracting with other people, but if they tip me, I consider that a gift, not a neccesity in the least bit.

There is a reason why people who start the game, only 3% start off with Entertainer, so, really, what do you expect me to say?

I'll tell you what, to be fair, next time I have some cash that I can spare and the people interact a little, I'll tip them(which I have, plenty of times), but it's people who really think they deserve it, for doing the simplest thing in the game (by far) that gets me.

I'm keeping my entertainer skills to heal my friends and anyone else who wants to come in to the cantina once in a while.

I'm not here to start enemies (unless your a rebel!).
