Thread: Runesabre Speaks Out About AFK Macroing!
I made a design decision to disallow Image Designers from migrating their own stats to preserve the social environment of this game and ensure the Image Designer profession can't be reduced in value and damage the appeal of the profession much like AFK macoring has done to Dancers and Musicians.
thanks

Sorry for maybe sounding a bit grumpy - nothing against you, I assure you - but this is supposed to cheer me up in exactly what way?
Sources... cite your sources...
Where did this come from? The ID forum? One of the Dev boards?I want to see this quote in context before I get all thrilled that there may truly be hope...

um because he admits that it is a problem
Or more specifically, he admits they just about madea whole bunch ofprofessions practicallyworthless due to poor design decisions. Now if he'd offer any chance of a solution, that would cheer me up
Yeah I know, publish 10 should hopefully end this afk horror, but that is still more than 2 months off. And the new entertainer droids are nice (although I can't shake the nagging suspicion they are more of a goodie for the DE's sake than for entertainers), but given the lack of attention musicians (and dancers too, for that matter) have seen in the past 9 months or so, I'm not very likely to applaud the Devs for just admitting it's a problem. They should have admitted that months ago...
But again, don't mind me - I'm just trolling the boards while I wait for Chimaera to come up again ![]()
Point taken. I just hope they don't fire the poor guy now ![]()
You're right, of course - I agree it's at least a bit of progress, but what can I say? I'm a cynic at heart, hehe...

This is definitely encouraging! I know that there are still going to be a gazillion things they'll do before getting around to us, but this is the strongest indication I've seen yet that one day, unattended game "play" will be fixed. It shows me that even if it has been allowed to date that at least in the mind of the Lead Developer, unattended AFK macroing is recognized asharmful to our professions and wrong for the health of the game.
I do not feel that my efforts at preserving the integrity of dancers, through my own actions and through the efforts of LIVE Entertainment, have been in vain. I will wait patiently for results, but with renewed hope in the knowledge that at least the Makers know what I have known to be true.
