Allow me to introduce myself...I'm the guy with the really stupid board name Thats my old Prodigy ID...I got tired of trying to find a name that wasn't already taken. If its easier you can just call me Scott.

Anyway a little about myself. I've been playing MMORPGs since 1996, I started with Meridian 59 and have at least tried pretty much all of them since then. When I played DAoC I served as the Bard Team Leader (Archangel) for a short time, a position very similar to this one. I hope the experience will allow me to help entertainers here better.

I believe I have a pretty good handle on what most entertainer issues are, though I am most familiar with the musician line for now. I would very much appreciate everyone replying here with the issues that are important to them...no matter how trivial you think it is. No matter what, if its something you think needs fixed, chances are someone else probably thinks so too. If you don't want to post it publically feel free to send me a private message on these boards.

I look forward to working with you making the Entertainer class the best it can be !

Hello,

I am Shasha Cloud. I play in the Cantina at Cornette, Corellia (Flurry server). The only Issue I have is the fact that since the band flourish xp has been removed when ever I am in a large group such as today. Around 12 people 8 musicians and 4 dancers. We are all playing the same song of course but I mean we sound like crap. I start to develope headaches because of the noice we are making. not only that we are all doing different moves and of course on a different note which is the total cause of the noise. I have a feeling that it is eventually going to have a detrimental effect on tip making due to the fact we sound like a Wookie with an upset stomache if ya know what I mean. In my opinion we all need to be on Q. Everyone moving gracefully together and of course all on the same note. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way but I just needed to get it out. I mean some times I leave the band just so I don't have to hear everyone elses noise. The noise I make isn't near as bad when I'm solo. OC: If everyone is worried about xp how about everyone take turns doing the band flourish, that way we can all at least sound and look good for our the people we are trying to entertain.

I would like to see musicians be able to play the mandolin like seriously a MASTER muscian can MAKE the mandolin but cannot play it? what it up with that? you had to make the ONLY guitar like instrument and NOT let musicans use it? doesnt seem right to me

Disagree about the Mandoviol. No need to argue, just an opposite opinion. It's fine where it's at. I'd prefer it (or a new instrument) to only be available to a Master Musician who is ALSO a master Entertainer....but anyway...

I forgot about /changekey. I REALLY want /changekey in the game. The music is digital so it should be very simple to change the key of all the songs. People wouldn't be so tired of SW1 if they could do some 12 bar blues on it or something... /changekey works like a flourish, it doesn't start until the next "loop" begins, then it switches to the specified key. It switches everyone in the band and grants no XP to anyone, and does not negate or replace any flourishes, a lot like how /changeband is supposed to switch songs.

The main griefs I have are the sliders for image design, it would be so much nicer if it was a palate. I really think Image design is the forgotten profession but from what I see in the cantina it is much in demand. Maybe if the image designer had a mini head screen similar to the character creation screen that would be good so they could rotate and zoom in on the head or body they are working on.

Also as a higher level musician I am so tired of playing SW1 and rock it is almost whats the point in having anything higher than these because you can not play them unless the cantina is dead or you are off on your own. I think the main cause of this is hunter/fighter types wanting to learn just to heal themselves there has to be a way to combat this. My customers are constantly telling me that they are tired of hearing SW1 or Rock.

Also just my opinion but people need to leave the Mando issue alone its fine the way it is. I am also againest the tipgroup option but that I will leave alone.

We don't need a 10th thread about giving mandoviol to musicians...

Personally, I don't want a denial of service or ignore option. I think that hurts the nature of the profession. It makes no sense gameplay wise and reinforces the already growing perception that entertainers are just tip hos. If you don't want someone to get healed, stop performing.

Image Designers need to be able to make a character bald. I made the mistake of practicing on my character before I realized I couldn't go bald again.

Perhaps an ID could make a make-up pack that they could sell and someone could use to alter their appearance on the fly. The ID would get uxp and a little cash.

Perhaps there could be ID missions where you find an NPC and give them a makeover.

Theaters need a benefit. Perhaps there could be types of effects you would have access to only in theaters.

I want to deny services to any that are on my /ignore list. If I don't want to listen to them, I don't want to heal them either. I want them to just go away, without disrupting my other clients.

Look there are dances that have buggy graphics (formal and formal2), 2 of the 5 instruments sound like other instruments in entertainer (slither = fanfar and fizzz = kloo), no bald pattern in image designer, you have to double flourish as a musician to get the same xp a dancer does... let's please keep this thread to issues, not whines abouthow we need to be able to selectively heal people cuz /ignore isn't enough (read: I am not making enough tips cuz I'm a lousy entertainer) or how mandoviol has nothing to do with entertainment (whaa?).

God **edit** these boards make me crabby... lol

I think that there should be a /grouptip option, i see this posted in the musician board but think it is viable to be posted here as well. I also think that there should be a time limit to afk in a band. If you are afk for a certain amount of time (20 minutes or so) then you should be logged out. IT is frustrating to go into a cantina and have 15 afk slitherhorn players blaring Starwars1. It makes people who play musician seem lazy, "look i can set myself in the cantina and start a song and leave and still have people listen to me so i get xp!"

so these are my top issues:

1: a /grouptip option.

2: auto logout if afk for longer than a certain time, 20 minutes being a very reasonable time.

if i think of more i'll just add to my list.

I listed my big issues with dancing on the dance forum so I won't clutter this one with them.

What I have a problem with, and I'm sure most dancers won't agree with me, is that musicians get the short end of the stick with what ever instrurment they have to master entertainer for. While us dancers just get a second version of two of our previous dances.

I'm not saying I want to lose one of the dances I can do now and have it moved to master entertainer but it's not fair that we just get an upgrade where as for musicians it's the only way to play that insturment. So give them an upgrade of one they already have (a fluzz with a better sound *shrug* I really have no idea if that makes sense I don't play any of them). Or take (or create) a dance from the dancing profession and move it to master entertainer.

Image Design is badly messed up. Start with the fact that the slider should be a palette. Then, consider that changing hairstyle changes the hair color back to base colour. Continue with the fact that changes to the hair colour are only apparent to the recipient. Also, it is VERY difficult to zoom in close enough to notice changes to the eye color in humans or fringe colors on Rodians, not to mention that many players still have graphics issues with seeing player faces.

This tree needs help.
