It's already built in the code, only need be placed.

Place an access fee that automatically gets split up between the entertainers playing at the time of entrance. I would not at all be oppsed to a fee of 100-500 credits. I am not an entertainer so I do not know how it goes most of the time, but I am a doctor and am in a similar situation. post up on this thread guys and tell me what y'think about it... good luck guys :-)

Well Seeing as how the only Credits I make are from fellow Entertainers, this seems like an excellent idea!

I make decent tips from performing, but for a spendy person like myself it isn't enough.

I make LOADS from harvesting.

This has the potential of a good idea, but is problematic as well. Not everyone that comes into a cantina is there for healing or for listening to the band. Some are there just to hang out or socialize with others. Also, this would put money into the pockets of AFK macroers, and I am of the opinion that those people shouldn't earn any money from their non existent efforts. Now for private cantinas, and once player run cities finally get implemented, then this won't be an issue. I severly doubt player cantinas will have afk macroers with people that visit them, so I could see this being an option for player run establishments. But not for normal cantinas, as that would harm chefs, and ultimately, even us entertainers as well. As an entertainer, I know that I would be severely put off by having to pay an access fee to a public cantina in a place like I don't know, Coronet, or Tyrena, or anywhere, for that matter. Gotta pay to play? Nope, Itren takes his horn and goes and plays at some nearby house, or the theatre, or even another cantina. Not going to pay upfront just to play in the place when it's a public cantina.

Since I play I livenearlysolely from dancing. Missions I do only somtimes for fun. And iI live not bad. I am not rich but can travel where i want and buy what I want.

Sure I have to do my job and not standing afk in a 20 person band in a big town.

I travel around and are looking for places I will be needed. Here I stay a while and can make 10000 til 20000 in 4 hours. And I have fun and an audiance that is glad to see a dancer.

This works not every day in all cantinas. And there a lot ofingrate watchers, but this is the life of an entertainer.

I personally do not want to see an automatic fee. I only can see an appreciation, if I get tips or be hired for my service.

if you go to a club, you pay a cover.

what if you had a reduced rate for having the novice entertainer skill and it continued to go further down as you got higher... I don't think anyone is going to take master entertainer to get into the tavern/cantina free. People to socialize should still pay, they still listen. same thing as a club

I'm new to the entertainer prof, but even after 2 solid days of play'in, yeah,.tips hard ta come by,..occasionally ya get the good fellahs who tip ya at least 500+. Ta me thats good,.it's about an easy destroy missions worth, saves me from pick'in up a gun.

That be'in said,.instead of an access fee,..ya know how people who enter have ta click 'listen' or 'wacth'? well,.why not revearse it and let US decide who listens and watches,.that way,.if'n we see a bad/rude customer an whatnot,.we don't have to stop entertain'in for everyone just to avoid help'in the person we don't like. Heh,.this'll also deter Macro-dancers/musicians as they won't get as much unless they actively select new customers. My 2 cents,.PEace

I'm not sure what this thread is all about! I work solely in my hometown cantina, where I've worked for several months. In the beginning I didn't make much money, but as my skills have increased, so have my tips. I have a regular clientele who tip me very well, and it doesn't take much to get that!

Take an interest in your patrons, and they will take an interest in you! I know about their families, I remember things that they tell me about themselves and incorporate that stuff into my conversations! People really respond when they feel like you care about them.

When I know that a certain customer goes to the Fort a lot and likes action, I'll introduce them to other people with like interests and things like that....it's really not that hard to do and people really like it! Take an interest in your profession and it will pay off!

well as I said before I am not an entertainer, i'm a doctor, and we are in a similar boat. an entrance fee IMO would make things better in some aspects, worse in other i assume... and to the guy talking about rude people, /denyservice =)

What about having a way to set a price for your music/dance..before someone can listen they have to pay. This would be more true to life, like paying for a service. You agree that in order to listen for 10 minutes you will pay 100cr (just an example). It can be something we entertainers can set for ourselves when we choose our music/dance to perform. This would be similar to an access fee, but would only apply to when you listen/watch someone. Just a thought.

I can see this as a possibility:

Premium clubs, where when you listen, you are charged a nominal fee (like 100 credits). The Premium clubs heal you faster than a regular cantina.

The key is that the fee is charged on listen/watch, not on entry. That way entertainers and socializers don't pay for something they aren't getting.

More than 100 credits seems too much, as I think people look at the time/value of money, and will just go to the free cantinas, rather than a premium club...especially theless experienced/wealthyplayers.

ya guys all just need to entertain, on an average day, i can make about 2k in tips per hour. just by simply entertaining people when they come in to the cantina, and this dosent mean just dancing, to play an entertainer and be successful at it, you have to rollplay to a certain extent. you can generally get a feel for how the people react to this, and decide to either just chat with them, or rollplay. once you start doing this on a regular basis, your tips will go up. granted there are a few people out there who tip low, or dont tip at all still, but there arent that many of them, and you can generally make some decent money in the process.
