Thread: What Exactly is the PURPOSE of Entertainer Mission Terminals?

how abou thaving missions from the terminal be more like the theater quests so that you have to please the audience by giving them what they want and also they should AT LEAST double the payout
That wouldn't be so bad if it was like the initial audition where they ask you to do specific dances/songs and flourishes. I wouldn't want it to be like the performances though. Spamming flourishes and changing the dance/song every few seconds is not my idea of a fun quest.
I totally agree with you about the payout though. The current payouts are an insult!
How I think the entertainer mission terminals should work:
- Missions should pay at least the same as the newbie combat missions (that is - 400 to 600 credits)for novice entertainers.
- Amount of payout should be on a per person basis (none of this dividing up 200 credits among x number of entertainers in a group) or should increase based on group size.
- Payout should increase with skill. A master should never get the same pay as a novice.
- Distance should be limited to no more than 1k to 2k from the terminal at max.
- If a terminal is located right beside a cantina, then missions located in that cantina should comprise a hefty percent of the missions that come up each time you refresh (there should always be at least one mission for the nearest cantina)
Look! I can edit my posts!

Tell me about it! The first time I tried to do one of these stupid missions, I spent half an hour looking for the "noble" I was supposed to dance for. I finally aborted it thinking it was bugged. It wasn't until I started reading these boards that I found out that all you do is go inside the cantina/hotel beside the waypoint and perform for ten minutes. I am determined to explore all of the "content" there is for entertainers however, and figure even the piddly payout from the entertainer missions is a help when I am working on my entertainer skills. As I play a lot on Test Center I also do not have the advantage of a large group available to join when I perform, and taking a new mission every ten minutes breaks up the monotiny of waiting for someone to come into the cantina.

Yes, entertainer mission terminals are ridiculous. No audience to perform for, the distance/payout ration is horrid, and the mission "descriptions" are not descriptive at all. My noob-r2 gave me more info on missions than the term or the holocron. sheesh.

10 minutes?? I doubt I'll do another mission from a term, then. I'm not going to stand there for 10 minutes by myself. I did this last night: Went to the Mos Eisley cantina and just played music. There was a group there and they invited me right away. There was a fairly steady stream of patrons, as well (plus 5 AFK entertainers). The funny thing is, when someone would come in, I would greet them and talk with them. If you do that, the other players rarely go to the afk'rs. So we all performed to together, made mad xp and made *some* cash. Overall, it was a great experience because we all got xp, we all got to chat and have fun. Mission terms are lame, try the real cantina experience and I think you'll have more fun

You play on live. Test Center is a whole 'nother animal. The other night I had a crowd. Two whole people came in over the course of my evening's play. I'm often the only person in the entire town.
I tried at one time to join the TCPA chat channel, but there were two channels with that name and no one talking on either one.
I have also only seen two other entertainers too, one came in and danced by me while I played, the other was in a player cantina and never responded when I tried talking to her (I think she must have been afk).
I have had to use the npc trainers for almost ever skill I have learned.
This also makes getting healing xp rather problematic. Of course, it might be more active during the day (I mostly play late at night).
Anyway, as I said, I do the missions as much to break up the monotiny as for the measly few credits they pay out. I also do combat missions when I get tired of talking to myself, but I like dancing and playing an instrument, so when I play my entertainer (you can have three characters on Test Center) I do the stupid entertainer missions to pass the time. It breaks up the monotiny, gets me a little pocket change, and gives me a reason to stick at my keyboard when there is no one else around.
