Thread: COMPLETE GUIDE TO MASTER ENTERTAINER. Holo-grinds, the truck stops here.
OK, so there is going to be a huge influx of Holo-grinders. This is a marco I wrote that will keep you going all night and will not let you run out of action or mind. There is an explanation of how to get though the Image Design tree in 1 hour or less at the bottom.
/startmusic [song or dancename here]; /pause 5;
/flourish 1; /pause 10;
/flourish 2; /pause 10;
/flourish 5; /pause 15;
/stand; /startmusic [song name]
/flourish 6; /pause 15;
/flourish 7; /pause 20;
/flourish 8; /pause 20;
/flourish 8; /pause 20;
/stopmusic; /pause 15;
/tendDamage; /pause (3-6 depending on your diagnostic skills);
/tendDamage; /pause 5;
/ui action toolbarSlot00; (put this macro in your first slot)
Now there are several reasons why this marco is better than a lot of them out there. First off, you will need some decent Medic skills to do this. I suggest First Aid 3-4 and Diagnostic 2-3. You can get these fairly fast jsut by healing entertainers in the cantina. You don't need med skills, but you will run out of action and then you are at the mercy of medics inthe cantina and your stamina.
You will need to add ro subtract flourishes so that your mind is 100% before you go back into the /tentDamage part of the macro. Two shots ot /tendDamage on myself and my action was always 100%. And I timed it so that my mind was healed to 100% 10 seconds before I when into the /tendDamage step. This might sound confusing, but try it out and you should get the hang of it. Remember, you need the long pause after /stopmusic, because if you try to /tendDamage whily are still in an animation it will not let you.
Now, here are some explaination for the some of the stuff in here. First off, the music branch will most likely take you longer than the dancing part (and you don't even need to do anything for entertainin healing, you will get that the fastes). This is because you will most likely be in a group and if someone starts playing a song you don't know yet, you will stop playing, and there for stop getting exp. But you will continue "animating".
Now the /stand partis just for this purpose. If someone starts playing a song you don't know, then your character will continue playing, but you will stop getting exp. Once the band starts a song you know, if you are still doing the silent "animation", then when the macro hits /startmusic [song name] you will get a message that says "you can not start playing while animating."
If you are "animating" and you execute a /stand, you will stop aminating, and you will start playing when the band plays a song you know (once the macro gets to /startmusic...).
And yes, you want to play with the band. You will get 4x the exp most of the time. Remeber to edit the macro to play the best song you have, and make sure you are using the best instrument you can use.
The Dancing portion is much simpler. All you have to do is make sure you are part of the group and that you are using the best dange you have. Sometime there is a glitch and you will stop dancing. But that is what the first /startdance is in there for (for dancing just switch /startmusic to /startdance).
When you want to stop the macro, you can do that by typing /dump at anytime
That should get to 0/4/4/4. Now for Image Design. It is the easiest tree to get to lvl 4 in the game. Image Designed uses your mind pool, so start by getting a mind buff. Then, go pick up a crate of Muon Gold from you local smuggler (this is a spice that gives +500 to all mind attributes).
Next find a newb and give 5-10K to help you. Or find someone that is doing the same thing as you.
You can ID on your self but it will take 10 TIMES AS LONG!!! There is no way to auto accept changes, and you only get 6 ID exp everytime you do this on yoursef.
Now, here is the marco you are going to use:
/imagedesign;
/imagedesign SetValue hair_color 00;
This is it. this is not a looping macro, so you will be pressing the button (F1-F12) over and over very fast.
Do this once to test it out. the first time you do it on someone, you will see a box pop up that gives you the option to modify Hair, body, ect : IGNORE THIS BOX!!!!
Just leave the box up and don't close it. The person you are IDing will still get the "Do you accept this change" box. Now, tell the person that is helping you to click accept as fast as they can. And at the same you you click (F1-F12) as fast as you can. Once your mind is depleted, sit down and wait for it to regen. With Muon gold it should regen very fast. You will get 50 ID exp for every time they accept, adn they can accept as fast as they can click.
This will get you ID 4 in 1 hour or less of straight grinding. Infact, if you have naturally high focus and will power, I bet you can get it in less than 30 minutes.
NOTE*
If you are going to AFK macro in the cantina, do it in the room on the right of the entertance (if you just entering the cantina). This is just curtious.
And DO NOT use a macro that begs for tips. It is just rude to people that actaully want to be entertainers.
I suggest you sticky this post. it will save a lot of frustation for you entertainers from answering the same question over and over again.
Feel free to add to this or correct any of my typos.

There really is no best macro, but theres one you can use WITH other macros to make your musician skilling friendlier to people's ears that actually listen to the music. Name this macro "Silence".
/pausemusic;/pause 2;/macro Silence
This won't effect your xp gain at all, won't cost any action. Side effects may include dry mouth, sore through, cough, the same as sugar pill.
What this WILL do is make it so you aren't constantly playing music, just occasionally. Hopefully this will cut down on some of the noise in the cantinas and allow the music to actually be listenable.
You are silly to keep punching F1-12 for image design. There are plenty of 3-liner macros that let you get zillions of XP working on a (grouped) friend. The best pause seems to be 2 or 3 seconds, which is just enough for them to click pause and get annother accept request box right after that.

the game doesn't do that, lol.
I've macroed for 23 hours straight. maybe it is suppose to, but it doesn't. You will get booted if there is a rollback, or if the sever resets.
Also, I made a mistake on the ID macro. the macro should be:
/image;
/imagedesignSetValue hair_color 00;
The macro IS case sensitive.
The reson I suggest actually pressing hte button is because there is no need to but a pasue in, and becasue with a looping macro I've had problems.
And the point fof healing your self is that you will be AFK, so you will not know if a heal leaves. And if you are out of the way, a healer might now see you. Your best bet is to but the healing portion in the marco.
A few do's and don'ts to macroing
- DO be aware if there is a healer on duty. If there is, you look like a dork stopping to heal yourself. Modify macro accordingly.
- DON'T spam anything. Ever.
- DON'T use /startband, /stopband, or /changeband. Your group will kick you to the curb
- DON'T stand someplace conspicuous.
- DO leave the cantina when you're done with your entertainment healing xp. Go dance in your house, or in a back room.
- DON'T play anything that the band isn't playing. That sounds nasty.
In fact, it's just not a good idea to go afk for music experience. You're playing with a band, and they will periodically ask "what's your highest song" or "can you swap your instrument so we sound better." etc. Now if you're dancing, that's one thing, because you can go to a quiet corner and do your own thing and it affects nobody. But doing music is a team effort and it requires interaction. If everyone is afk, that's one thing, but if you're in a group of ATK musicians, they will not be happy with your afk shenanegans when they're trying to pull together a decent-sounding song.
My advice: get your dancing and entertainment healing afk, if you must. But get your butt to the keyboard if you want to play with the band.

Actually.. if you get your quickness and stamina up to 700 each, you'll never need healing, and can flourish twice every 10 seconds.
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
Yes, /heald would heal you as long as you had enough stims in your inventory. You don't have to have yourself targetted. If you don't have any target, it heals you by default. If you're going to do this, I recommend getting an item of clothing (warm hat, sunguard, some shirt/pants/jacket that has multiple slots for synthetic cloth...ask a tailor about it) with Active Biosensors in it equaling +25 Injury Treatment (don't worry about the Wound Treatment part if it doesn't hit the +25 cap) to get the most out of your stims.

Wouldn't I be able to type '/healdamage' instead of '/tenddamage' provided I have some stimpacks in inventory? Just as long as I leave myself selected, this would work right?
