Thread: Theartres..dramic company preposed
I'm preposing that the threates be taken advangte of by no only performances of bands, and dancers (ballet?), but by dramtic companys. During times of war, often plays are the peoples way of esacaping. We could put on all sorts of plays ,and skits.
Contact Isobe on shadowfire if you would like to join me there. I engourage others to do the same on other galxies.
OOC:
I highly encourage you to pursue this. We held a play (Starwars based) in Theed on Kettemoor and it went VERY well and was highly attended and well received. Surprisingly, we have very little trouble from griefers as well.
Wish you the best of luck!

Ha! I hadn't even seen this post.
I always am looking for someone to do this on the wanderhome server, I think it's a great idea
I am getting play fever ALSO! Maybe do an interpretation of A New Hope or Empire Strikes back ![]()
Ahazi's got a new director!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWG has such a rich variety of emote animations. What we really need is a way to activate an emote on command but supply our own text, like the "say" option in Everquest.
Then you could really put on a play and act it out.
The closest you can come right now would be to map out all of the "trigger" words that cause an emote animation to fire and write them into your script in the appropriate places.
Has anyone ever compiled a list of the "triggers"?
Yes, I am setting up a New Hope play. So far many people are insterested ![]()
Gonna do your play on Ahazi? We could do a Double-Feature ![]()
OOC:
Yes, Wemi, that was us! The play went very well and we had about 100 players turn out for it. I have to say that we didn't have nearly enough of a crew, but we managed to pull it off. Cyr'eth's player wrote the script by editing a piece of script from the movie, and did an excellent job.
Suggestions for anyone who tries this:
Make sure the play itself is VERY short, 30-40 minutes at most.
Keep the number of roles to a minimum - it's difficult to follow otherwise.
Keep the script simple and fun - over dramatize it or add a lot of humor.
Have actors put their dialogue on hot key macros.
We hope to hold "Death of a Jedi" in a different location on Kettemoor in a couple of months so that people who missed it the first time might make it a second time. ![]()
