You can't really run ONE macro all night...you'll have to set up an alias with a number of macros that call on each other to keep it repeating. I am not real sure how to do that, but it's basically like making a lot of macros and naming them, and having each macro call up another macro when it's done. Someone else should be able to post an actual script for you.

I don't agree with afk macroing, but more power to you if you want to do it. The only thing I ask is please stay out of the cantina while you are running the alias.

I think the game autokicks you after 15 minutes or so if you dont give any input (move mouse, type, etc). Besides that, I've been known to run some long macros while I watch TV, hitting the macro button every 5 mins or so. This wayI can still see when people talk to me, tip me, etc, since I have certain words like "tips" "heals" and "meye'kul" highlighted in chat options. This is no substitute for socializing, but it certainly makes slow nights go by a lot faster and still gives you xp. You can either set it up with the in-game macro or an external .txt file in your SWG directory.

Here's what the .txt file would look like:

Song1: /flourish 1; /pause 5; /flourish 2; /pause 5; /Song2

Song2: /flourish 3; /plause 5; /flourish 4; /pause 5; /Song 3

Song1: /flourish 6; /pause 5; /flourish 7; /pause 5; /flourish 8

The song1: etc are the names, and that's how you would call it in-game in the text window, type "/song1" to start this macro, then at the end of song1 it would start /song2, then /song3, and so on as far as you want to go. The game has a recursion filter which stops the macro when it detects a loop, so you cant have an endless one, but you can have a really long one. Just dont hit it on accident because you cant stop the macro once it is started unless you log out.

Oh yeah.. name the .txt file something like music.txt and put it in the directory you installed SWG (not the launchpad)and then in-game you'd type "/load music.txt" to load the aliases. If you cant figure it out, you can email me in or out of game.

Turn auto afk off in the afk menu in options.

Each alias file loads the next one and you can go as long as you want. (Good luck. My server keeps being brought down)

You can fit a lot of text inthe txt file. You'll have to experiment to see how long you can play until you need to rest. What I did was pull up the numbers for my toon and watch how long it took to use a third of my action, then simply determined how many commands it would take to use all of that up.

At first I wasn't going to post this, because I use my macro during the night so friends can come and get healed in my house, but I figured, what the heck.

Can someone please paste an "all night" macro/alias for playing music please? I found that wanderhome is in desperate need of entertainers late at night....i'd love to stay up that long but can't. So if i get an "all night" playing macro i can go afk and help heal the whole time.

Good Post, except read the test carefully people, if u cut and paste this one. Notice the /Tip Skek 1000 bank command. I am sure someone sowmewhere would get this working and be on the same server as the aforementioned poster. Nice suprise to create this nice music alias only to find that in a few hours you have no more money left.

Now, THAT is funny. I love it. Too bad, it could probably get you banned. I hope Skek is a made-up name.

Not to be a wet blanket, but isn't anyone worried that Big Brother will look at this as cheating? What is their policy on creating an alias and then going to get a shower, grab some food, go to work, leave the country?

Why would you want to macro while you sleep, master the game while not there, play get bored, nothing for you to accomplish quit the game. Tell your friends I really didn't like that game theres nothing to achieve.

This does not answer my question. I often seek knowledge, not because I have an immediate use for it, but because I need to understand the situation that I am in.

As far as im aware sony would support it. Macros are built into the game for the purpose of flourishes etc.

But I wouldn't call yourself a Entertainer, more like a Jukebox or dancing robot.

The reason i asked for a music alias is clearly stated in my post: There is a lack of late night/early morning

musicians/dancers on my secondary server. It is not my primary character or server. With a looping alias i can provide healing services all night when it would not normally be available. I'm not worried about leveling this character at all. It is merely to provide a service. Why should you even be concerned how another person chooses to play or level their character?
