Thread: What do you charge for customizing droid color?
Naturally, I don't charge anything for droids that I make, but I've been getting a lot of requests for this service for droids that other people have made.
I don't mind helping people out, but droid customization kits take control units and droid storage compartments to make, and doing it for free isn't good in the long run.
I just blurted out 500 credits to one surgeon customer I just had. hehe, pretty much the cost of the resources. That's pretty cheap IMO.
I charge 150... the control units cost me 120 and the rest is resources I don't really know if coloring is so much to charge for.
Oh and the color don't seem to stick on standard Probot, but the ADV Probots keep their color just fine.
I do it free if I'm there when they buy it. I charge 300 per color otherwise. It's really not a money maker for me, but I think it's nice to be able to do.
Once it works properly it will be really good.
Well so far I have been jsut coloring droids from my PA (free) or coloring droids I just sold (free with purchase)...
Dunno one of these days when im bored ill sit at the starport and offer to color for 700 creds a charge or something *shrug*

It doesnt work right so i tell people to keep stepping.Kinda like i do when somebody wants to buy a droid.
But usually they tip me so I am not too sad.

I explain when they come back , that it accually costs me credits to paint their droids
I let them tip me whatever
one of my normal customers, simply kept destroying the r2 I made him untill the default oen he got had the 2 colors he wanted
I eventually gave him 20 % off
only took 34 r2s to get it right, his never needs to be pained agian.

oops Gveedo, are you sure they just don't come random colors each time you pull them out?
Anyway, to the original question:
Free with purchase, 500cr after that. Why? well, it's not the resources, but the time it takes. These units have very few charges (3 if using good quality and great success), so unless I make a crate of them, take storage in my backpack. Then you have the customer thinking about what colors to put. Then he wants something a little lighter or a little darker. In all that time I could have easily made 2 survey missions for 2k.
