Thread: A brochure to give customers...

I have started using a brochure these last few days to educate my customers before they buy my droids. And in the last two days not only have sales gone up but I have not had to explain how droids work once to anyone! As such, I thought I'd publish it here so that you all could copy/paste/edit it and use it yourselves.

(Of course, in the game I also have attached a dozen and a half waypoints to almost every DE store on the server, but obviously you won't be able to or have to do that and can probably edit those bits out. Also, it's been commented that my price on probots is a little low, and as such I will probably be raising it in the next few days).

> Hello, and welcome to Woodrow Acktoe's Droid Brochure. Here, you can find the price for all major droid models, and many Droid-related questions are answered as well. See below for an explanation of the different modules and what they do. And if you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to visit some other fine Droid Engineer stores on this server. You can find their waypoints on the right of this email.

Exploiter.

Ackis,

While I understand why you feel this way, I'd also point out:

- The Devs have said emphatically many times that valid exploits will be dealt with quickly. They have done this many times in the past.

- Pointing out this 'exploit' to them has yielded no fix, which means they must not consider to BE an actual exploit or they (rightly) figure we should use it as a way to offset our other problems.

Basically...."We've messed this up so far, go ahead and let them keep/use it."

...just a thought.

Note: I have not personally ever stacked GSM modules.

Look at how much attention DEs have received though... the DEVs don't CARE about the DE profession.

Maybe I'll make a bunch of mouse droids with everything in them, throw them on my vendor for 1 credit before my account expires this Sunday.

I used this "exploit" once, and that was just to see if it worked (plus a little bit of me being lazy and not wanting to craft another one hehe)

The fact that this person offers people the chance to use the exploit is disgusting. He should be flogged and shot.

Ackis,

Next time I see him, I'll shoot, flog and fry him for you.

Hence, the evidence of why they've not fixed this bug (and yes, I do mean bug). The fact that it was used in this way, and not addressed by the Devs as an "exploit" (which means they should fix it immediately) is an example of how much attention we have yet to get.

That's all. It's not evil, I assure you.

More often than not, Woodrow (TheWoody) doesn't make/sell these and I would know...he tells me about almost every droid he sells. Note: this isn't much these days, since he spends so much time overseeing the DEA on Ahazi.

Uhhh...I hardly think that's what he was advocating.

Well, you've used it one more time than me, then. The reason I've never done it is that I figured the functionality would come out broken (which it sometimes does, from what I understand).

The fact that this person offers people the chance to use the exploit is disgusting. He should be flogged and shot.

Duly noted. I'll squeeze that into his schedule, if I can get past his pink Adv BLL.

Using a bug to gain advantage is an exploit.

I know... I was being sarcastic. However on WH, there is a DE who does just this... and in fact their advertisment is "6 module droids here"

It was n00bish experimentation.

I want screenshots thank you very much.

Thankyou Ackis, you've completely destroyed the point of this post. Hope you get a lump of coal this Christmas season.

For everyone else (praying that Ackis won't spot that I have misspelt a word somewhere and will go on a bender to try andforce me back into grammar school for 3 years) here's a new revised edition. And remember that the point of this post is to provide you with a look at what has turned out to be an extremely successful way of easily giving out prices and educating the customers merely by typing in their name and pressing the mouse button once.

Greate stuff Woody,

Ive been working on my own such flyer. I like your format though. My prices are just a bit different, but the format is where I was having a problem. Also since mail has limited space, I was trying to shorten things.

thanks...

One thing you might want to add to your brochure for the 110 medical droid "Will not work in Cantinas"

The point that you're an exploiter? No, I pointed that out for you quite clearly.

That's a good suggestion Fodder, which I'm adding now

If anyone has any other brochures or info guides they use with customers, we'd love it if you posted them here on the boards. Perhaps we can put together a decent full fledged one that we can all use.
