Droid Engineer Archive
Thread: What info would you like to see added to the Knowledge Base?
- Why won't my droid heal me?
- Why isn't my droid's medical module working?
- What does "Your droid's customization fades a bit more..." mean?
- What is the maxium storage capacity of a droid?
We are looking for concise questions and answers that cover different aspects of the Droid Engineer profession and Droid issues in general. A good place to start would be many of the frequently asked questions that we encounter on a daily basis that could be answered with the search function of the Knowledge Base.
The Knowledge Base in its current form can be found here or accessed in game through the Holocron (Ctrl - H) byuse of the Customer Service button.
Thanks to everyone in advanced for your help in this Community effort.

"How do I name my droid?"
This one is actually already in the KB. The other would be considered a bug.
Do forget that we are looking for both the Questions and the Answers as well. ![]()
/bonk self
Guess I should've checked it first. ![]()
Anyway, I was checking the KB, and I found an error. In the article "What happens if to destroyed driod and incapacitated" (that's the exact name, and yes droid is misspelled), it implies that droids are permadeath.
(Edit) Psst... Drashk, your link doesn't work ![]()

Hmm...I think that I pointed this one out to the first CSR that brought up the KB, but forgot to reply on his comments. This is exactly one of the many items that really needs elaboration and suggestions as to how to improve the KB. I'm really hoping to take a crack at writting out a few suggestions for the KB this weekend, after I get mucho sleep. The KB is currently very limited in the information that is pulled up using the keyword Droid. This thread is here to help rectify this problem.

The use of "Probot droid" istead of "Arakyd Probe droid" in the "How do I use my probot droid..." question is a sign of the knowledge Devs have about our profession. Simply unnacceptable ![]()
As someone already say, I would add a line talking about current bugs: add the "medical module doesnt work inside cantinas" to the "How do Medical Droids work", and the humanoid droids not able to be named in the "How do I name..."
Other questions I suggest:
- How do I repair my droid?
- Why my droid is not working anymore? - Batteries
- Can functionality be added to an already made droid?

This is an open call to arms for the Droid Engineer Community. The good people at SOE are putting together a pretty indepth Knowledge Base for SWG and have openly requested for Community assistance in putting together a strong list of Questions and Answers created by the people who know the game the best, the people who play it. Hereis a short list ofexamples of questions that could be considered -
- Why won't my droid heal me?
- Why isn't my droid's medical module working?
- What does "Your droid's customization fades a bit more..." mean?
- What is the maxium storage capacity of a droid?

Thank you for kicking off this post Drashk. The Knowledge Base in game is quickly growing to cover more and more topics and provide the most accurate information possible. On a daily basis entries are published to the Knowledge Base and any errors that are located are fixed and published.ffice
ffice" />
The exciting thing about the Knowledge Base is that the response time for the entries can be so swift. If you locate an error in the Knowledge Base and bring it to your correspondent we can fix it and have the corrected version in game within hours or even minutes of receiving that information. Any gaps in the Knowledge Base can also be quickly filled.
I’ve asked your correspondent to start a thread like this for two reasons. First the Knowledge Base is very important to us, but right now it is under utilized. I’m working with the Correspondents and the Developers to increase awareness for the Knowledge Base. Soon we’ll be changing some things in game to make the Knowledge Base a lot more visible.
That brings me to my second reason for coming to you – information that is as complete and accurate as possible. When the Knowledge Base becomes more prominent it will be vital for it to be as complete and accurate as possible. We have been working internally and with the Correspondent program to comb the Knowledge Base and add new entries. We would really appreciate it if you could point out anything that you find to be in error, out dated, or simply missing. If you think a question needs to be asked that’s not here please post it, or send it directly to your correspondent. We’ll work to get as many into the Knowledge Base as we can.
Thank you for your support and we really hope that you find the Knowledge Base to be a useful source of information. Please keep in mind that the Knowledge Base is intended to provide information about systems and policies but will not provide direct spoilers.

I'm a little annoyed by the "How can I track bounties with my probot?" question.![]()
This entry has been changed to read Arakyd Probe droid instead of probot.
"Star Wars Galaxies: What happens if to destroyed driod and incapacitated pet?"
Just enter "Droid" in the Search field. This should come up as #3 (or it did for me).
More to come.

Respectfully,
The typo is fixed but I need to work with the Correspondent to fix the entry for that solution. Its out of date.

A: You will need to use a "Droid battery", craftable by most any DEs and Master Artisans. Make sure that you have the droid battery located in your main Inventory window (Ctrl-I). Then, select the droid's radial menu and left-click on the "Recharge" menu item. You should see your character go through an animation (as well as your droid, in most cases). The droid should now be recharged and ready for use.
Note: If you see a message similar to "You do not have a power storage device..." when you try to recharge, it means that there is no droid battery being 'seen' in your main Inventory.
...more to come.
