Thread: Project Droid Engineer New Function 'Power Droid'

Just read something on the Artisan Boards that sort of gave me this idea.


How about if you were able to 'Plug' a Power droid into your harvester giving a limited but semi potent power supply? Maybe not as good as Fusion but certainly better than Wind/Solar. Each Droid could basically be a battery. Once it's dead - get another one.


There are a lot of people that can't afford Fusion but can’t be bothered to collect the natural power resources. Give each droid say a 2/3 day 'life'. Which cannot be retrieved if the Harvester is redeeded? Or maybe it stays plugged into the harvester for use when it is next deployed.


Hmmm... Should have thought about this before I started writing.


What are your thoughts? Am I late with this idea?

well, if you dont know anything about power droids, yes, thing is, a power droid contains a tiny fusion reactor, and the shell is supposed to be extremely well armoured to prevent everything within a 50 mile radius from being vaporized if it falls down some stairs. And im not sure why it still has 50 ham, when it should have 6k or more even though it cant fight. and create a large explosion and shockwave upon death.

You wouldn't... you feed a harvestor power right? Why not feed it a power droid. That was basic thought. I didnt mean feed the Power droid batteries, sorry if it wasn't clear.

A power droid should cut power costs for anything in half. Including other droids in the immediate area. So in theory a barker droid with a power droid next to it would last around 8 hours! OR it would give a group of tankbots a lot of help, but of course this shouldnt stack.

Now that I like. Should definately have a limited life. But then they wouldn't really sell for much I suppose. Would just end up beinga longer lasting battery.

Surely if it can suffice as the new 'Duracel'fordroids thenwe should able to use them to 'recharge' harvestors?

I was going to address something similar in nature in the thread geared towards fixing the current modules that we have and expending upon them. Basically, when a Level 3 Structure Maintenance module is installed ina Power Droid, you would be given the option to pay an extra fee to add power to each structure on the Maintenance list. The fee would be something along the lines of 2 credits for every 1 unit of power added to the structure.


This would make it 'easier' to code, since no actual power resource would be used in the process and it would add a soild credit sink in the form of convience.

hey any way to make power addable by the maintenace module withh make people happy im only on prof 3 of many of the crafting types and they all want a way to add power via the droid. i agree
