Well, I gotto admit, this Publish seems to sparked alot of interest in droids. Ive sold over1.5 million creds of droids in the last 24 hours, I spent most of my time just restocking my vendor and doing factory runs to keep up with demand!

Harvest droids seem to be the biggest seller, but combat droids are flying off my shelves as well. The most asked for droid for me is the survey droid, but Im on Corbanits and Vertex still has'nt spawned, so these droids are almost impossible to find. Hopefully we'll get a spawn on Corbantis soon and I can maek some sales

Ive had a pretty chaotic 24 hours, how did it go for everyone else? Im on Talus and been really busy. DEs with vendors near Coronet or Theed most have been even busier.

I made Master DE the day before the patch, so I was nowhere near ready for it. I had 4 R3 Advanced Chassis made up for order I had received pre-patch. When I logged on with the patch last night, I immediately began receiving /tells asking if "you make modules", "you make droids", "how much?", "what can I get?", "where's your vendor?", "can you make me 1000...", "50k!?!?!?! &%^^&%( YOU!" etc etc etc

I set myself anonymous and most of the /tells stopped. I was not prepared for last night as I am a new DE. I spent most of my money and resources on the grind to Master, so I had little to nothing ready to even make droids, let alone in the quantities I was being asked. I don't have a shop set up yet (I will by this weekend) and I started doing some factory runs last night of key components.

I love being a DE, the detail involved in creating a droid makes it very interesting and lots of fun. As my learning curve accelerates and I get faster and smarter at doing tasks, I'll be spitting out a lot more droids. I expect to actually have stock on my vendor.

The money I made from my droid and customizing tool sales last night should pay for a decent starter supply of resources to make my next batch of droids. It helps that my alt is a Master Musician, as he ran a factory run of 1000 dual wave thingies for the playback modules last night

I think I picked the right profession to play now. I'm gonna have a lot of fun, if I make money or not is another question, but I will definately have fun.

Well, almost too well in fact. Although I've got to find out if one of my friends actually managed to land me a big contract that he called me in the middle of dinner to ask if I wanted him to try or not.
I ran out of R3 adv Chassis and started a run of EMM and EGPs just for those chassis.

I've been making alot of stim bots and harvesting bots, and of course entertainer bots.

I have to say one thing though. Wow those entertainer effects are cool looking.

I can't wait to see the cantinas full of dancing jawas.

Oh and the exploding MSE droids make big explosions. Much bigger than I was expecting.

A friend and I used my first two on a bunch of Kaadu. I was watching the one that the droid was nearest and then BOOM, and one that I thought was out of range fell over. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to sell these for cheap or not since they're so much fun.

Same as Korrack except I already have a shop.
Just had my first factory yesterday.

Already have some orders, that I'll try to do ASAP.

Removed my title until I have the ressources to build droids.

After that, as I have da killer skill combo(musician, DE, merchant), I'm gonna make an ADV protocol droid, black with red or green eyes, a barking module and an entertainer Foam module and have a lot of fun with it in front of Theed spaceport. Well, that's the plan.

I logged on yesterday and began to study the schematics and functions of the new modules, but within 5 minutes, the tells started coming in. After making a few droids for people and then taking about 4-5 orders, I took down my tag, and it took me most of the day to fill those orders. I think I made close to a million credits (I lost count after a while), and I don't even have a shop yet. It was just me and my little R2 with his crafting station out amongst the people, and all of my sales were walk-up orders. I was able to avoid selling things requiring certain skills to people who didn't have them (although I came perilously close to selling a barker droid to a guy who did not have Advertising 4). I became a Master DE a little over a week ago, so I have been hard-pressed to learn my profession after grinding it for a holo (although for the record I had always wanted to try it anyway).

The main thing that has plagued me so far has been the requirement for 3-4 "identical EGP/EMMs from factory crates." After buying up lots of crates to make certain parts like advanced droid brains, I was left with a bunch of crates with like two EGPs or EMMs in them. And you can't make many factory runs of parts requiring several identical EGPs because they come in crates of 25. This is SUCH a pain. I finally threw up my hands and just started buying expensive crates of advanced droid brains, just to help me keep up. Good thing I have a good supplier of Master Artisan parts, who is also a Master DE, and who was thus able to give me a lot of helpful information. Thanks Plump. The moral of that story for new DEs is: find someone like this who can keep you well-supplied with EGPs and EMMs -- don't try to rely on the odd crate off the bazaar. One other thing: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD CRAFTING TOOLS AND STATIONS.

One other thing that I am learning is that there are so many subcomponents to make, and the complexity is so great, that the pressure to make these things on the fly for a customer is immense. I was terrified that after getting together all the resources, crafting all the previously mentioned subcomponents on the spot, experimenting on them on the spot, etc., I would have a failure in the final experimentation, or even an outright critical failure in the final assembly (ack, it's time to press that final assembly button!). And then I'd have to tell the customer that I'm out of those blasted EMMs. Fair warning: don't do this profession if you have a weak heart.

Having said all that, I LOVE this profession! I love putting all the parts together, and then being able to sell it to someone and watch them run off happy and giddy, playing with their new droid. I made a lot of sales the first day with promise for return business from very satisfied customers, who have told me they were passing my name around. I started to calculate one guy's price for two R2s and some survey droids, and he just suddenly says he'll give me 200k, lol. Needless to say I was on the job right then.

I think the devs did an excellent job with this publish. There are a few issues that can be fixed by slightly changing a few number values and requirements for things, and adding a little more usefulness to survey and harvester droids, but overall it is a success. But I've learned my lesson not to let myself get swamped!

I was ready!

And I still got swamped!

Pre-patch, I had:

Ten's of thousands of parts ready

500 Probot chassis

1,500 R3 chassis

Packs of resources, GP & Mem Modules pre-configured for all the new modules

13 Factories standing at the ready

3 Master Musicans contracted for Dual Synth Mod Schematic.

With in minutes of the servers going up, I had:

200 survey droids baking

All modules cooking

Within hours, I had:

Cluster with the new modules cooking

Detonation MSEs cooking

Survey droids posted to my vendor

By the end of the day, I had:

20-30 custom orders waiting to be filled and an empty vendor

All and all, a very hectic day. between 1,000 and 1,500 /TELLs

It went great. DEs finally getting some love from our customers. I was swamped so much I had to change my profession tag to keep the number of /tells down.

It went well for the 3 hours I was able to play. I had prepared ahead of time with various parts I would need, but couldn't get home from work fast enough to get in on the "first wave" of sales and interest.

Even so, by the time I got home I had a queue of about 20 orders and another 20-30 questions to answer. An hour later I actually started making droids, and managed to fill about half of the orders while dealing with seemingly constant tells. I had to put up an AFK message stating that I was only accepting email regarding droids (questions or orders) because if I accepted /tells I'd never get any droids made!

I'm really glad that the 100-odd unit run of Advanced R3 chassis work to make post-patch droids... that's about all anyone has been ordering. I started a run of Survey Droids and tonight I'll have to start another run of GP modules.

Toaster Bombs are a ton of fun and I think I'm going to sell a lot of them from my Bounhty Hunter vendor SW of Kaadara. I'll be doing a run of Detonation modules tonight... as it turns out the quality of the Tolium is not very important - I can make 37 rated MSE droids using 700-something OQ Tolium while Qert said he was able to make 38 rated MSE droids using the 35 CPU OQ 930 Tolium we had a while ago. We also have some OQ 300-something Tolium and that makes 36 rated MSE bombs. So use the cheap stuff and let the Combat Medics get into bidding wars over the high quality Tolium. (I hope this was a deliberate move by the Devs... it would show forsight and planning!)

Harvesting modules are the most popular for me right now, which is good because they're so easy to make. I spent most of my actual droid-making time last night putting together +98 Harvester R3s using my "leftover" resources that I carry around in my backpack. I'm sure I can go significantly higher once I have time to actually look forand use my most suitable resources to make these.

Survey Droids seem to be curiosity items so far... most people have only purchased 1 just to "try them out". We'll see what happens. The cost of Vertex on Ahazi means that we have to charge at least 6k per droid to make any sort of reasonable profit (there's 2400 credits worth of Vertex alonein the droid).

Entertainer Droids are COOL! I sense a great disturbance in Cantina lag, however, because these things spew forth vast amounts of video card hogging particles.

I just wish I had more time to make stuff right now... there's a lot of demand. I hope it's not just an early adopter rush, though, and that it is a sustainable market.

last night i got some vertex and tollium (lucky me!) and i made a few mouse droids with the stim module, my friend Need made one with the bomb module, I had a lot of requests for the survey droid. Sence i had just gotteen DE i gave up on selling and spent the few hours i was online attempting to understand HOW to put these things into droids. Clusters, modules.. very confusing for me!
