Thread: The first 24 hours of the New Publish, how did it go for everyone?

Jalon here (Master DE on Naritus).

Wow what a day!!!

Luckily I was at least somewhat prepared to handle the event. I had a fair amount of chassis and basic parts manufactured, so that made it a heck of a lot easier! I feel bad for the new Master DE's who missed out on a lot of sales just because of the timing!

All in all, I sold about 2.5 million creds worth of droids in about 8 hour of playing time. Not bad for a days work! I lucked out bigtime, as I went straight to the bazaar and found a nice little stash of vertex crystal to get me going, from which I was able to manufacture a fair amount of survey droids! Lucky me . I ended up giving a bit of it to a fellow DE friend of mine to help him out too (didn't want to hog all the glory, and I had WAY too much business as it was hehe).

Hottest sellers for me were fully loaded entertainer R3's (all 6 entertainer modules). I sold about 800k worth of those. Sold a few of the creature harvesters (one to a jedi who was disappointed to find out he had to have novice scout to use), sold a ton of Merchant barker type droids. My biggest problem was that with all the new modules, I had a lot of orders for very unpredictable and weird combinations of modules in droids. Had to work pretty hard for my money!

I was able to churn out a nice contingent of new Probots (HAMS=3167, dmg=167-175, speed=0.7, 40% resists), which also were selling pretty hotly.

By the end of the day, I was able to get a buddy of mine to buy a heavy gas extracter and start mining the Tolliom Reactive gas, so today when I get home I'm going to start churning out a bunch of bomb droids!

I didn't follow the TC threads all that closely pre-patch, so i went into yesterday knowing a whole lot of nothing.

As for my impressions on the droids:

Merchant Barkers: These things work and are cool. Biggest problem is people w/o Advertising IV who buy them and then get pissedat me when they aren't able to use them (took me a while to discover this fact and start warning people).

Scout Harvs: Work quite well when stacked heavily on an R3...I've heard that they can actually exceed a Master Scouts harvesting ability!

Entertainer Mods: Pretty good feedback so far.

Musician Mods: Didn't sell a single one, or receive a single tell about them. Guess that tells you what people think of that prof .

Auto-Repair: Didn't use one myself, but heard they work well.

Survey Droids: A few people who whine about not getting high % WP's sent back to them, but all in all, people are fairly pleased w/ these things. They save a person from having to planet hop to find a specific resource on a certain planet.

Stimpack Modules: Sold one of these only...didn't hear any feedback on it, so I'm a bit in the dark on them.

Droid Custom Kits: YAY! THEY WORK!!! FOR EVERYONE!!!

All in all, I'd say the DEVS did a great job with this patch. The new droid UI is a hell of a lot better too. One displeasure was the lack of new chassis additions...something to look forward to I guess.

Ok back to work. Good luck everyone!!!

j'vee, I may have sent a few people to harass you for droids. Hope it worked out. I just couldn't handle them all.

I had all the parts ready to go as well. I spent about two weeks doing a manufacturing plan, put pre-measured backpacks of resources in each factory so I could log in, pull them out, make schematics, put them back in, and go. I did about 23 runs without any significant factory down time, as a result of planning.

I made 225 survey droids, 50 MSE bombs, and hand-crafted attack, maintenance, entertainer, and ranger-bots on demand. While I napped in the late afternoon, my main vendor sold out.

When I woke up, I went into the playback module hell of getting a bad schematic from a mostly-afk entertainer, then having issues crafting more schematics and synthesizers. I sat outside the Coronet cantina and crafted effects droids til I ran out of parts. I sold out of the MSE bombs that I had on hand within a minute of arriving there.

I probably only got tells from about forty or fifty separate people, but they all wanted to know the details so I did a lot of typing.

By the end of the night some really chatty guy walked up to me while I was wrestling with a big order for the playback R3s for a different customer.

Guy: So can you make ad barker droids?
Me: Yep, I have three.
Guy: How do I ignore them?
Me: (no response)
Guy: I hear the survey droids don't return stats. You guys got screwed!
Me: Millions of credits worth of screwed, baby!
(Everyone around snickers)
Guy: MSE droid did 400 action dmg on me in composite.
Me: (no response)
Guy: So neshura. What droid can't I live without? Let's see you SELL me on a new droid!
Me: Please just go. I'm so tired. I don't want to make any more droids. *breaks down crying*

Or something like that.

I had a great time, all in all.

DE forever!

Yep - thumbs up from me too - never been so popular! those dancing jawas are great!

For some reason a fully stacked R3 of harvester droids is my most popular request. Some want 5 harvester mods puls a storage module too. trouble is they're just soooo damn expensive to have sitting on the vendor if demand suddenly drops!

Tell hell aside I'm pleased so far!

There may be a problem with todays hotfix tho - my maintainance modules dont work anymore...

Darn, I knew I should have taken off work yesterday. I got on for only about an hour at 1 AM last night, long enough to get started making more brains and stimpack dispensors. I have 11 R3 chassis ready to make stimpack dispensor droids, but that's about it besides paying too much for some vertex gemstone.

I only made Master on Monday night.. and I'm only now enjoying my first minutes peace to have a chance to really examine these new bits and pieces.

I haven't made millions like some people seem to have, but I have made more money than my eyes can cope with seeing right now. My bank balance is the fullest it's ever been and to be honest i'm fairly sure i'm still cutting my prices too low...

Still, everyone seems happy - i haven't had anyone report bad news back yet so long may it continue

I'm one of the DE's that likes to ramp up slowly to the new changes. The most I did was crank out like 100 new probots to stock my vendor while I go on a mad hunt for the new resources. Like many others, I took off my title and made myself unsearchable until I can get a grasp on things.

But I love the new DE goodness. It's nice to finally get some good business!

I had just made Master DE on Sunday night. Having not planned ahead I didnt stock pile resources and components. I had been mostly worried about getting Master before the publish went live. I've gotten lots of requests that I cant fill and send onto my fellow DE's. Hopefully I'll be setup in a week and start taking advantage. This publish seems to take the right direction for the profession.

You know things are turning around when CHs drop and go DE.

Even after making MDE and having a shop fully set up, it must have taken me two weeks to reeeeeeally get my ducks in order learning what was bugged and whatnot. Finally coming out with factory runs of popular droid configurations took another week. With all the new complexity, component and resource issues, I can't imagine a new MDE being able to meet demand for quite some time unless he/she already had loads of resources and sub-components already on hand.

All this great new love almost makes me want to go DE again.Almost

First 24 hours were AWESOME!

About 2 weeks prior, I had been factorying all the necessary parts (EGP, EMM, Control Units, Combat Modules, ADV Droid Frame Units, ADV Motive Systems, Brains, ADV Brains, Manipulator amrs & arm sets, etc...) About 1 week before the release, when the servers crashed and rolled back 2 hours, it cause my factories to die. I was unable to recieve any love from the CSR's. So I started building up again. Luckily I was a bit more refined in my practice that time. I got what was necessary (with the help of a friend to make up for lost resources, THANKS TAVIAN OF TEMPEST!).

Sat in front of my merchant tent all day crafting droids of all types. People were coming and going so quickly. I have not interacted with people as much nor made as much cash in the last 4 months combined. It has been at least 5 months since I have had THAT much fun.
