This is a post that I took from our trade forums on Scylla, it's for pets.

these are uber tanks with ~9500 health ~6500 action and ~3500 mind. ~59 kinetic resist and ~44 blast resist and specials including intimidation, dizzy strike, or crippling strike with ~120-130 damage. i have a shop on the outskirts of bestine andmy vendor called Machs BE is listed under pets/pet supplies. i put a fewof these tankson my vendor, if you want something specific send me a tell or mail

These are the non-ch pets that anybody can use. better HAM, Better Armor, and they come with things like Dizzy strike and such.

I have had people tell me flat out that there is no reason for them to buy a combat droid when they can get something like this.

CHs have issues with these BE monsters too. That's about CL35 worth of wild pets right there. The problem with buffing combat droids to match is that once again, you're giving people combat power at no skillpoint cost. And as much as I hate to call for a nerf on other professions, these non-ch monstrositiesshould be no better thansimilar-purpose combat droids.

In reality, however, these are still worthless just like all creature pets are, regardless of stats. Only newbies wanting a tank for low-level combat grinding will have a use for these, and they likely can't afford them.

Until the CU hits and we see where creature pets like these rate on the challenge meter, no point in getting too worked up over it. Once real testing starts, I'm sure the stats on these will be looked at and brought back into line- just have to make sure all DEs and CHs keep an eye on it and hammer the point home if they aren't tweaked.

I find it hard to believe that something like that is below level 10... that's crazy.

Indeed. But the one edge our probots have over these genetic behemoths: Fire rate and ranged damage. Probots fire like a machinegun, and will try its best to fire at range.

Those won't be around forever... the devs have said before that pets that powerful are bugged/exploited adn they will be getting rid of them. Don't know when it will actually happen, but its definately not intended.

Not intended indeed ... I used to be a BE and there are two camps over these. Oh, by the way, it may be possible to make similar pets with ranged, so that's no great help.

Along with all of the other points already listed, one more needs to be pointed out. How many can that BE make in the same time it takes to produce 10 Probots? If I'm not mistaken, it takes much more time to produce even one of those non-CH pets then it does to produce 3 Probots. Majority of the work done by the BE is done by hand, where as a DE can spit out Combat Droid after Combat Droid with the use of a factory.

Level 10 pets that are obviously not Level 10 will be hit with the good ol' nerf bat to bring them back in line with the rest of the non-CH usable pets, which will put combat droids back on top of the combat pet game.

Cant you also Doc-buff animals too? I seem to recal Docs using the "buff pet-store-call pet-buff-repeat" method to get fast XP. This would make almost any pet a perfect tank.

Yes, Pets can be buffed.

Reasons not to go for a BE pet:

  1. It's going to be nerfed

  2. You need medic to heal

  3. No option of autohealing

  4. More fun/starwarsy to go out with a droid (ofcourse, I'm biased )

The trick to getting CL10 pets with those stats is to get most of its resists to 0, resists at 0 dramatically lower CL. It takes5, 9or 13 samples to make a single pet.As mentioned before, the BE will need to go out and sample a lot to create a supply that is aserious threat to combat droids. A BE can make a much easier buck by supplying chefs and have more fun by making specialized pets for CH then grinding out CL10 pets that scream for a nerf.

Or so they say...

You need medic to heal

No need. You use the Pet-Stimpacks a BE produces, no medical necessary, as far as i know.

No option of autohealing

No need... put them in your datapad for a little and they get fine pretty soon.

More fun/starwarsy to go out with a droid (ofcourse, I'm biased )

Aye... completely true.

Hmm, the point is "sales". How many Combat Droids do you sell to a person? At the moment: one. And that only if he doesn't choose to get a pet instead. I personally use a droid as i like it much more in matter of style. (My pets are a Kaadu for riding around and a gnort as my "housedog"...) For efficiency, you'd have to use animals in battle.

Well, I've seen quite a few BE vendors. Still need to see pet-stimpacks. Thats needing medic to heal in my book

It really is a non-issue though. As soon as those pets become popular and wide spread thebug/exploit will rise on SOE's priority list of fixes to do. If they don't become popular, we don't have any problems.

You doubt the existance of the things? Check http://www.swgcraft.com/showschem.php?id=pstima target=_blank>here.

Or you simply say that the BEs usually don't have those stuff available in the vendors? In that case, i have to agree. But how many DEs have Droid Stimpacks in their vendors? Few to none... though, some DEs even have a few factory crates of that stuff somewhere and when asked for them, they also are ready to sell the stuff.

I've been BE, so I don't doubt the existence. Just pointing out that it's a tiny bit easier finding a DE or DE vendor withdroid heals then a BE hiding from chefswho want additives.
