Alright, sorry for another question. I boughta "jukebox" r3 droid from a vendor that supposedly plays like 6 different songs. I can't get it to play anything! Please tell me I don't have to be a entertainer (/shudder) to play music on my droid. Is this the case?

Musician or Dancer in fact.

That would indeed be great that other people would be able to use them, but not record.

That would give to the musician something to sell.

Musician or Dancer for the effects module.

Musician only for the playback module on account of you having to record your tune first.

At least thats how I understand it anyway.

I cannot garantee that a dancer can record, but I4m quite sure he can playback.

its just like for using a harvesting droid you need Novice Scout for some reason, and for Stimpack droid you need PharmIV to put stims in it, aren't the point of the droids to do something for you that you don't have the ability (extra skill points) to do yourself.

CTRL ALT, Tempest
Zion, Naboo Goleta Inc. (right in front of the shuttle)
Novice Artisan, Master Bone Armor Crafter, Dabbler in the wielding of a CDEF pistol.

In context of the movies, yes it is. However, in this game, giving players abilities that they don't have to expend skill points for is unbalancing. Droids in SWG are meant as kind of a sidekick; a tool. They're not meant to replace skills, only to supplement them.

You may not like it, but it's not going to change. If players could drop Novice Scout and still have their droids harvest for them, who would still be a scout? If droids could heal players willy-nilly with no skill being required to give them that ability, who would still take up a medic profession? It sounds good to players that want exactly that, and it sounds good to the DEs that see the dollar signs those types of droids could bring in, but in the big picture of the rest of the game it throws things off.

I really wish droid deeds contained information on what skills people needed to use the modules on droids. My experience has been many people aren't sure what the droids actually do or what skills they need to use the droid.

Dancers cannot use these droids unfortunately...found that out the hard way, after selling 3 to a dancer...These modules need to have a description in them stating this! Same with trap, scout harvest, exploding, ect. ect...

Yeah when I list my droids on my vendor I always try to make sure and stress the profession requirements if there are any. I usually put them in RED so they stand out. I wish more people did that. Moreover, I wish they didn't have to...

on my vendor's stock I sell an r4 with

lvl6 med module

stimpack dispensor

food crafting station

since it only uses 3 module I am able to make these easily and quickly, marketing them to low level medics, at the price of 15k

I sometimes get this in my mail:

"WHY WONT MY DROID HEAL PEOPLE!?!"

it comes in the form of a /tell more often though.

entertainer droid:

'WHY WONT IT LET ME MIND BUFF OUTSIDE THE CANTINA?!"

Scout droid:

"WHY WONT IT HARVEST FOR ME?!"

combat droid:
"MAKE ME SOMETHING BETTER THAN THIS, I WILL PAY YOU"

they REALLY need to DUMB IT DOWN for theese peeps!
