Thread: Just Needing To Confirm My Information??

I read the "Droid Tip Thread" and I was wanting to make sure I had not mis-read it. It stated that the Advanced Droid Frame unit was what we would use to Grind craft.

This unit needs 150 units of steel and 70 fiberplast.

Is this the correct unit or was it a typo?

On the up side you'll only need to craft about 3-5 thousand of them ....soooo get your harvestors pointed on steel and fiberplast as it'll be all you'll grind for the next month.

It's correct, and you will find that if you wish to grind your way to master, it will take literally hundreds of thousands of units of steel and fiberplast to do it.

This is because crafting pretty much universally gives 2 xp per unit used, and the droid engineer skill boxes each take anywhere from 48,000 to 105,000 xp each.

Trying to work as a droid engineer is VERY difficult until you've reached at least 3/3/0/3 or so, although you can make some money as early as 0/0/0/1 with Bounty Hunter seeker droids. Once you've gained the ability to make some reasonable crafting modules and armor, sales become more possible, though still slow.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

Thank You for the fast reply. I had always thought the steel use for grinding Rifle units was high, that is untill now.

Atleast the Exp is high for the mineral consumption, you can blow through 12 K units of steel in no time flat grinding these babys.

Just remember the high numbers there in advanced droid frames are exactally why people grind them. You get about 2xp per resource so droid frames are awsome at 150 steel 70 fiberplast and no subcomponents. It is fast to make and uses a ton of resources making it an ideal grinding item.

-Looks Around Carfefully-

Better watch how loud you mention "Good" Exp I like many Weapon Crafters fell victim to the two handed axe component add.

Talk about a sucker punch.

For grinding I grind OUT (not on practice) Seeker and Probe droids. you get upwards of 4 exp per unit of resource (only counting the resources that count on the DE side, not for GP's or EMM's). Much bigger return in both Exp and money. Probes require steel, chemical (fiberplast specifically?) and extrusive; Seekers just require Metal (I use cheapest iron or whatnot) and Chemical (anything will do). When your inventory gets full dump it on your vendor & the bazaar. they will sell.

Serioulsy, make a buck while going up the tree, don't dump the resources down the drain just because you think you have to be master to be good at what you do.

Very good point ... for all new DE's I'd suggest this. Mainly because I AM a master DE and trust me I cant do much more than you can. Had I known what the market looks like from the top I'd have taken my time to enjoy the ride.

Yeah I still want to cry everytime I see a MSE driod and think about grinding 300 of those, lol. Before I hit probots I sold one MSE driod, and two R4s, and back in my day(sounding tired and old) we didnt have those fancy survey missions we hadcrappy delivery missions to pay for harvestors.

Here is how it breaks down from the point when you hit adv driod frames (0,0,0,3) you will need 1,027,200 points of XP, this breaks down (if you practice)to 333,495 units of steel and 155,631units of fiberplast. To think if you sold all those resources at 2cr a piece that is 978,252 credits.

I would set 6 harvestors on steel and 3 on fiber, and one on wind, nothing beats the resource shift when you would have to pull up or make ten harvestors, and hunt that +80% spot, heres were I send out a thanks to Kralis for his resource tip, on my grind to master. I didnt even make it high enough or fast enough to get to make pre-nerf probots.
