Yeah I still want to cry everytime I see a MSE driod and think about grinding 300 of those, lol. Before I hit probots I sold one MSE driod, and two R4s, and back in my day(sounding tired and old) we didnt have those fancy survey missions we hadcrappy delivery missions to pay for harvestors.
Here is how it breaks down from the point when you hit adv driod frames (0,0,0,3) you will need 1,027,200 points of XP, this breaks down (if you practice)to 333,495 units of steel and 155,631units of fiberplast. To think if you sold all those resources at 2cr a piece that is 978,252 credits.
I would set 6 harvestors on steel and 3 on fiber, and one on wind, nothing beats the resource shift when you would have to pull up or make ten harvestors, and hunt that +80% spot, heres were I send out a thanks to Kralis for his resource tip, on my grind to master. I didnt even make it high enough or fast enough to get to make pre-nerf probots.
Anytime
We DE's gots to look out for eachother no?

Not sure if this was mentioned before in the Grind Tip section, but what I did was create three Weapon/Droid Crafting tools and put them on hotkeys (ie. F5, F6 & F7). Then I made sure there was only one stack of Steel and one stack of Fiberplast in my main inventory.
Hit F5 and grind out an Adv Frame. If memory servers correctly, in practice mode, the xp is in the low 400s. Soon as that one is "cooking" I would hit F6 and crank another. Then F7 for a third. Assuming you are not getting lagged to death, by the time you finish up on the third one (F7), you can go back to F6.
Using this method was indeed boring, but you would be amazed at how much xp you can crank out. I would do this on my runs for doing Artisan Missions or on my way to check on harvies. If you are real clever, you can even setup a macro to do this for you.
Oh, another tip. Be mindful of the Steel you are harvesting. Not all steel (or any resource for that matter) is created equal. For example, I tried not to use my special stashes of steel, like durralloy, on grinding. Use the more common "junkier" steel.
Anyways, happy grinding. I just hit Master DE this morning. Don't know how I made it, but I did.
Ho....
hehe 3 tools? your slow
j/k
once you get good at advanced frames though you can use up to 5 tools at one time, or atleast i was (man was i clicking fast, my roommate kept telling me i was going to throw my wrist out
)
oh and on the note of resources. my best advice i can think of would be to take your time. dont just devote all harvestors on crap steel and fiber because once you hit the top, you will be waiting around for the good resources.
always keep an eye out for dura alloy steel, ditanium steel, duranium steel, beryllious copper, link steel aluminum and the ever allusive lidium extrusive ore. any time you see those, check out the stats and if OQ and Conduct are good, set a harvestor up on a good spot and stockpile it for when you hit master. I, for one, did a mix of hunting and crafting to fill the time in while i grinded to master de and did not sell a droid until i had reached MDE. I was very disappointed when I finally learned all the specific types of resources that i had remembered seeing but past up to grind out the skill points.
5 at a time? Man you are faster than I. Must have a better Net connection than me as well. :-)
I agree with the Dolem1te - mine the right resources. Boy was I enlightened when I made a schematic for 100 qty of a part only to find that I didn't not have enough resources for the factory job. I've also had the "surprise" of not having the right type of steel (or aluminum) for a particular part. Oh, and last night I was making an ADV Probot and got down to making the chasis, only to realize I was 20 units short of Extrusive Ore. Sooo, dig into all the resources you may need and be sure to acquire them when you can.
Becoming MDE was a bit easier for me as I have two accounts and had 10 harvies running. Plus a little help from a weee grind macro.
