I know many consider DE to be doomed but I still have faith in the profession. I've wanted to become one for sometime and I was curious what was the quickest way to become DE... should i be a master artisan too??

The quickest way for me was to get to tier 2 of droid blueprints using the manuplator package arm and the regular manuplater arm. Then once I got tier two, I would use nothing but the advanced droid frame, which gives 460 exp on practice mode. Then all I would have to do is collect steel and fiberplast, which is easy enough to get. That is my method and so far it working great.

Master Artisan is almost a necessity for DEs. Fastest way to become DE on your own is to grind with mouse droids until you can make advanced droid frames (from blueprints). There you grind with those... very easy grind then. If you have a master DE who's willing to help you, get them to use your factory for their DE parts... that means you'll get some xp for doing nothing basically. Better yet, get them to create the schematic and give it to you. That way you get the xp from creating them, and you *might* get usage xp from them using them.

My 2 cents.

The fastest way to become a Novice Droid Engineer is to make powerups until you hit Engineering III, then start making personal mineral harvesters. It shouldn't take you more than a day (provided you have enough resources.)

As far as Master Artisan, it's very helpful if you plan on being self-sufficient, otherwise, get in good with one and have him make you schematics to run off the electronics you require.

buy 400k of steel and 200k of fiberplast and hope you don't crit fail to much. (I think the min amount needed with no crit fails is 350k of steel and 125k of fiberplast)

Grind MSE droids till blueprints 2

Grind Adv Frames till master.

95% of all DE's are Master artisians as well, because 80% of our droids require parts from the Master Artisian box.

If you know a Master Artisian, friends with one, can bribe one to become your slave then there is no need to get it.

advanced frame units is the best thing since sliced bread.

i did armor pieces to get to tier 2 blueprints but seing as how those two skills dont really take too terribly long to get, im sure there is a more optimal way but didnt see the need to look.

once you get frame units, just stick everything you got on steel and fiberplast 2:1 ratio and you will be master. just have to wait out the time to extract the resources needed. it was a common thing to grind through 50k steel in a couple of hours and be done grinding for the day.

I grinded wooden staffs to get novice DE and master artisan... again see if you can run someone elses schematics off on your factory. If you're on wanderhome, look me up.

I grinded on crafting kits, mainly clothing crafting kits. They give about 60 exp on practice mode and are all around light on materials needed to make. If you want the fast way out, make persoal harvestors but they eat up a ton of drifferent types of resources. Crafting clothing kits took me about an hour on each tier (about)
