Thread: Combat droids sure are not lvl 30

Hope this helps
If your toon is below CL30, DO NOT group with the droid.
Pets/Droids will take on the CL of the group. If lowest member of the group has a CL below 30, then the droid will assume the CL of that member. If you are the only member of the group, then the CL that the droid will assume will be your own.
As a CL34 Creature Handler/Riflemen/Ranger, I will hunt with a combonation of 2 pets, equal to CL26, and 1 CL30 Combat Droid. Using those three pets in a group, I cansolo CL45 creatures with a few uses of the Repair Kit and Bacta Shot in about the same time as it takes me to take down a CL30 without the Droid.

So that group thing is a bug, right? Because if it's "working as intended", it shouldn't be.
During RotW Beta, pet/droid/perk grouping code was changed so that the 'pet' would not gain the CL of the highest group member, since would allow a Master Creature Handler / Master Other Elitethe ability to effectively have 3 CL80 pets, 1 CL80 Droid, and 1 CL80 perk. When this change was made, if you grouped with apet and were of a lower CL, the pet assumed your CL. This wasadmitted to as being a bug.
It isunknown if the code was changed back on purpose, to allow pets to assume the CL of the highest group member.

I speculate the pet-grouping thing is working as intended. That way a CL1 toon can't group with it's CL30 droid and let it tank while he/she rakes in the xp. But you get the benefit of a CL80 droid if you group with it and you're CL80. Sounds like a balance thing to me, and that's ok.

I spend time collecting resources, I spend time building a droid and experimenting for it and it won"t even keep the stats after creation (armor factor).Sometimes the CL 30 droid can fight CL 18 mobs, and sometimes it cant fight CL 8 mobs.So I suggest you test the system a bit more in different situations because as it is it's not working. And if you read the boards, you'll see many DE have the same problem with Probots. I don't see where I could make any mistake when all I do is pulling out my droid, not grouping with it, and sending it to attack mobs.Oh .. by the way, I had two droids stored in my datapad and I used them both on the CL 8 creature. This was the same for both of them.Your post is useless to my problem. If it works for you, it doesn't for a lot of us.AglardaeMessage Edited by Aglardae on 07-06-2005 01:19 PM
Are these all probots that you're having problems with?
I only crafted probots for my friends and I since the droid changes. We all have the same problems.
I really don't feel like crafting anymore droids at this time.
