Thread: Combat droids sure are not lvl 30
This has noting to do with grouping, as my CL1 Droid Engineer never groups with her pets. At this time, combat droids are useless to her. They can't protect her even against low level mobs when she goes and checks her harvesteers .
As we speak, her Advanced Probot, ungrouped, CL 30 (so they say) was just owned after two solo engagements with a CL 8 creature on Corellia (a crazed durni).
Herdroid stats are the following:
Difficulty level - 30, Health 3742, to Hit 81, Armor effectiveness 1217, defense value 81, damage 61-284.
Here is what I read about the combat. The CL8 mob was hitting my droid for 62 twice as fast as the droid who was only hitting the mob for 50 (wow are CL8 rabbits wearing advanced suits of composite furry armors???).
Hear me now .. The droids as they are now are a COMPLETE JOKE.

Make sure you don't already have a pet/droid/faction perk out.

Sorry you feel that way. My probot (same exact stats) destroys crazed durnis. It can wipe out a herd of CL18 creatures without stopping for a repair. So hear me now and listen to me later:
Rasal the Wise,
I see that you are a CH. So you are not CL1. Do you group with your droid when using it ? Because if you do, the droid has your CL, which must be around 50+ I think, and thus it would have no problems against CL8 or CL 18 mobs.
Are your clientele CL1 patrons or higher CL hunters. In the latter case, they group with their droid and use it for the extra DPS it gives in combat. But in the latter case, a droid being grouped with a CL80 player makes it CL 80 and it can take more beating.

Its not a matter of grouping, I have never grouped with my probots (and am CL 1 anyway) and all mine since the last changes have been beating anything under about CL30 without issue, (usually with most of its health left as well).

Nope, no grouping. I wish I had specific information about my customer base, but the only thing I get is e-mails since I sell the majority of my droids off my vendor. If I were to make a guess, I would say most of them are lower level combatants or crafters, since most high level combatants know that these droids don't stand up very well to the creatures they go up against.
But I did some testing when Pub 18 (17? I forget now) came out with the new combat droids, and they seemed to function as intended. Except for the fact the AI was a bit wonky. The only other thing I can think of is the majority of the combat droids I sell now were manufactured before the combat droid revamp. So they are conversions pulled from crates after the patch went in. Don't see why that would make a diff, but you never know.

I spend time collecting resources, I spend time building a droid and experimenting for it and it won"t even keep the stats after creation (armor factor).Sometimes the CL 30 droid can fight CL 18 mobs, and sometimes it cant fight CL 8 mobs.So I suggest you test the system a bit more in different situations because as it is it's not working. And if you read the boards, you'll see many DE have the same problem with Probots. I don't see where I could make any mistake when all I do is pulling out my droid, not grouping with it, and sending it to attack mobs.Oh .. by the way, I had two droids stored in my datapad and I used them both on the CL 8 creature. This was the same for both of them.Your post is useless to my problem. If it works for you, it doesn't for a lot of us.AglardaeMessage Edited by Aglardae on 07-06-2005 01:19 PM
Temper, temper. I think my post was quite constructive in that I posed a POV that is not uncommon. I was attempting to let you know that not everyone sees your issue. Now before you go flaming me again, I am open to the possibility that it *is* a bug and that combat droids don't always work as intended. I've just never seen it, nor has my clientelle complained about it.
And the part with the winky-eye smiley face emote? That means what I said was a joke (from an old SNL skit).
Hot Fix Version 0.12020
Grouping
* Group levels are based upon the highest level group member
I hope this fixes the grouping with droids issue.
