Thread: Blair in PM about DE
Ok so I sent Blair a slightly inflammatory post regarding DE and the troubles I believe he has caused through his lack of vision for DE. Here was his response quoting the last line in my pm. So i guess I will expect a HUGE DE patch very soon.

Easily. I feel confidant you don’t want something pushed out that is broken or doesn’t address your concerns. The update for droid engineers is huge.

mmmmm yeah then the day before release they will prolly find like 50 bugs with it and hold it back another month hahahahahaha.

Yeah, that was my take on it.
Blah blah blah blah blah............ excuses......... excuses. The people at SOE lie, especially about the DE profession. They haven't even begun to fix this worthless piece of crap profession. They told us to expect changes back in August. They told us to expect their rickety little "plan" to be implemented by the next patch too. Anyone see a pattern for pathological liars? In fact, I'm not so certain SOE really wants to even have droids in the game anymore. They ought to just shut down the whole DE profession and make everyone become creature handlers.
Oh, and the day SOE implements fixes to this profession will be the day hell freezes over..... twice, and thaws out.......... and the day everyone in the world is at peace.

How can we be expected to believe ANYTHING they say ?
Simple - we can't be expected to believe anything they say - trust is earned.
And even IF the so called patch is going to be huge, how come Sintrosi doesn't know anything about it?

I would not qualify anything that any of the SOE devs or community staff or management as an outright lie. They certainly have made promises and not delivered on them, but to call any statement of any kindmade by Thunderheart, Q, Holo, etc. a lie is, in my opinion, a step too far. They have over promised and underdelivered in the extreme, yes. They have definitely done that in spades. They have absolutely asked us for data that was already availble to them--all they had to do was read. No question, they've done that too. But out and out lying? I would definitely agree that their credibility in terms of deliverables and timeframes is shot, but does that make them liars?Nope. Sorry. Can't go that far. Won't go that far.
They have no reason to lie to us. They're not stupid, you know. They have to know that lying to us outright is not going to get them anywhere. It would only serve to generate more spite and flame emails and what not. They don't need it, and they don't want it. Of this I am quite certain.
No, I truly do believe them when they say that changes are coming. I am just less likely to take their word for it when any of them quote any kind of specific delivery time--the sooner it sounds, the less likely I am to believe it. When I see it on test center, I'll believe it. Until then, I just keep hoping and wishing.
I think we've all vented enough over the past few days. We've voiced our frustrations, we've let them know we are WAY angry. I think that letting it all out is theraputic in some ways. The good news is that most of our venting has not only been theraputic, but some of it has actually been constructive as well. Let's leave it at that, ok? Let's keep it on that almost positive note. Let's drop it and go on. If you still feel the need for blood, either change professions or leave the game. Getting ugly serves no purpose and makes all of us look both foolish and immature. We won't get anywhere that way.
And, I don't think DEs or anyone should be quiet about the problems with this class until something is actually done instead of merely said. Time and again, the whining wheel gets the grease. No fixes have come to the class. And, the only time promises are made is when holy havoc is caused on the general boards. That is the proven history of how they have dealt with the DEs. I think everyone should continue pointing out the problems of the class and how the Devs have made promises they have not fulfilled.

Lest I am mis-interpreted by anyone, please note that I am not advocating that we should now become silent by any stretch of the imagination. I completely agree that we need to continue to let them know that we are broken and that we need fixing and to provide them feedback on what they fix when they fix it. That should NEVER end until we are at a minimum viable. I just do not want to see us lower ourselves to the point where direct and overt libel and slander come into play and are considered acceptable by the populous.
Trying to keep things subjective if not objective.
